Today South Korean game developer Shift Up hosted an event to introduce two new games codenamed Project EVE and Project NIKKE: The Goddess of Victory
If you’re unfamiliar with Shift Up, it’s the company behind the popular mobile game Destiny Child and its CEO is famous artist Hyung-tae Kim, also known for his gorgeous character design in the Magna Carta series and in Blade & Souls.
Project EVE is developed in Unreal Engine 4 with the aim to launch an AAA game for the global market. It’s a single-player action RPG for PS4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam), Its setting os post-apocalyptic and besides Hyung-tae Kim himself, its staffed by the core members behind Blade & Souls.
It doesn’t yet have a release window, but below you can see a trailer and a few screenshots.
The game is being developed as a next-generation title by a newly established South Korean studio called Shift Up. The studio consists of staff including Blade & Soul staff as well as composer ESTi, who previously worked on Ragnarok Online, TalesWeaver, and The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls.
Project Eve is described as a semi-open world AAA game that has taken inspiration from titles such as NieR: Automata and God of War. It is being made as an action game with single-player as a base Using Unreal Engine 4
Shift Up was established for making this game, and they’re putting the latest technologies for 3D scan system and facial capture to use. There are currently about 10 staff members but they’re shooting to have around 100 members by the end of this project.
The story is about mankind fighting back to recapture planet Earth from invaders who forced them out to orbit. The scenario is said to be mostly completed.
