Didn't Toriko outsell Bleach last year?
Yeah it did, here's the Top 30 selling series of 2012, I'll only list Jump titles.
01. One Piece (23,464,866)
02. Kuroko no Basket (8,070,446)
03. Naruto (6,495,240)
08. Hunter×Hunter (3,439,839)
10. Bakuman。(3,211,191)
11. Toriko (3,005,339)
12. Bleach (2,974,750)
13. Gintama (2,850,072)
14. Sket Dance (2,786,109)
23. Nurarihyon no Mago (1,879,120)
24. Katekyou Hitman Reborn! (1,844,824)
26. Beelzebub (1,714,931)
But the amount of volumes released during that period is a big factor.. like Naruto's sales are only a little bit better than HxH but the gap is massive due to it having more volumes released... Bleach was short a volume this year.. add one more and it's above Hunter X Hunter. (and #7 Silver Spoon)
Same titles as above but the best selling volume for 2012.
*1, 3,336,992 One Piece vol.65
*5, 1,281,309 Naruto vol.61
10, 1,090,309 Hunter x Hunter vol.30
17, *,742,823 Bleach vol.55
30, *,601,825 Kuroko no Basket vol.18
40, *,571,291 Bakuman vol.16
58, *,487,114 Toriko vol.18
59, *,487,011 Gintama vol.43
83, *,429,152 Katekyo Hitman Reborn! vol.37
No Sket Dance, Mago or Beelzebub volume made the Top 100 list.
Anyway you can see that a declining Bleach still easily outsells a pushed Toriko by 250k....
Why are they pushing Toriko so hard?
Should be Naruto or Ichigo up there instead of that reject.
Because Naruto and Bleach are heading to their conclusions (could be a few years to go of course) and Toriko could be around another 10 years easy.
