Lindelof gives the exact year somewhere in the Q&A. I think it's 2085.
Protip: in this universe FTL drives are real, trips probably don't take several years.![]()
Perhaps.

Not bad but I still adore the audio assault that is the last 1/4 of the US trailer.Has the Wondercon trailer thing been posted?

it's not the 2:32 one. There's new stuff in this one (i think).
tentacle while noomi looking through glass for example
Also, charlize fighting with fassbender
Where did you read that? I watched that long interview someone posted, and I got the impression he basically completely rewrote it. The Q&A seemed to imply that too for me.Apparently a large majority of the script is the same from before he started working on it.

Time to watch Alien and Aliens for the first time. This looks amazing.
Prepare to be blown away by how impeccable Alien looks on bluray and then how good the IQ in Aliens looks (though the latter film is still dated by 80s film gank)Time to watch Alien and Aliens for the first time. This looks amazing.
The OG screenwriter has been tweeting about the movie.
1. They might not know the exact coordinates, since the crew might all die/ship blows up before their last report.
2. We don't know how long it takes to reach LV426.
What took you so long?
Thanks.
A million times yes. The effects used in the first two Alien movies look really good today. To me practical effects are more impressive and hold up way more than CG. The acid scene in the first movie still blows my mind.
Never been a huge alien fan in general. Don't think I even saw the (assumedly god awful) AvP movies. Alien was before my time and I just never had an interest to watch old movies.
Here's hoping it turns out to be amazing. My current favorite sci-fi movie is Sunshine, despite the last act. dat soundtrack
Hard to be a fan when you've never seen the movies. Unless you mean the concept of aliens in movies.
Just know that Alien and Aliens are two completely different types of movies that are in two different genres.Concept, that's why I didn't capitalize itI'm not an anti-fan of the concept, it's just whatever. Probably because I have never seen Alien/s lol
If they use cold sleep, it can't be all that fast either... I believe they were almost a year away from Earth, in Alien.Protip: in this universe FTL drives are real, trips probably don't take several years.![]()

edit: So I am looking at the blu-ray set of Alien/s now. Which cut of Alien/s do I watch? Director's cut for both? Extended? Alternate?
Alien - Theatrical Cut
Aliens - Special Edition/Directors Cut
Don't let these peasants fool you. The Special Edition Cut of Aliens is especially better if you liked the tone of the first film.

Or if you like amazing dialog and scenes that enrich the quality of the characters and thus the movie.

The John Carter marketing people need to learn from the Prometheus crew how it's done.
Aren't they all probably unemployed by now? I would think they need a new job before that.
We need detailed impressions after you watch Alien. Also, make sure you watch it in best possible enviroment.
AT NIGHT. ALONE. IN THE DARK. PREFERABLY SOMEWHERE WHERE NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM.

Even if you don't like one you might still like the other.
Fixed.
So damn true! The first one was significantly creepier in my opinion and freaked me out for years. The designs of the xenomorphs still get to me today actually.
If I ever saw one of those in person--instant suicide.
If you like amazing dialogue, you might as well stop after the first movie.Fixed.
Looks so awesome. May get some hate for this, but does anyone feel a slight Mass Effect feel from this? There was also a shot of a guy standing in what appeared to be the ship's cockpit wearing a baseball cap. I immediately wondered if Seth Green had a role in this.
I GOTTA BUY THIS
MURTAUGH & RIGGS!!
For real. I wasn't going to think about buying it until I saw that. Maybe they'll talk about Black's LW5 script.

The New Alien? So they gave up being coy about the connection to Alien?

It's scary how eye to eye we've been seeing lately.
What's with the headline at the top? That's a lot of airbrush on Shaw, er, Noomi.
