PS+ : September Edition Thread | Thank You Ross !

They hope it will still come this month. So it's probably at least another three weeks.

Oh boy.....i hope for the best! Maaaaaybe we get dyad somewhere between. Hopfully! *hugs shawn*

btw:
one a scale to 10, how many "oh fuck, shite awesome"s would you give RDR when you have no idea about the game and get it for free?
i have no time to play it till the weekend (and my two weeks of free time after that) but i wanna be excited!
so.... Excite me!

ps: i bit on the plus discount. I'm stuck with awesomeness for more than a year! :(......oh wait! :D

Just finished Borderlands on Steam. You all are in for a treat. I eyed Scott Pilgrim in the past, so that will be good to have. That double dragon looks like it is worth free.

Machinarium is a peach. I'm glad more people will get to play it.

I will be joining PS+ tonight when I get home. The 25% off deal has finally convinced me. It should pay for itself within 4-5 months anyway.

Machinarium is now live on the EU PSN Store. And FREE for PS+ folk, yay.

Really? Awesome!

Btw does Machinarium support Move by any chance?

Which version of RDR undead nightmare is the one to get? They have a 'full game' for ÂŁ3.99 or the game pack for ÂŁ7.99 but both seem identical.

Also can anyone answer this? Another poster asked it but it seems to have gone ignored and I'd be very interested in finding out the answer too.

That's a bummer. I don't have Move, but could see this game really benefiting from Move implementation and honestly the more games that support move the likelier the chance for me to buy it.

Yeah i was kind of hoping for Move support too. Didn't see it mentioned in the description though

Awesome. I feel sorry for the developers though. They've got this game they're finally releasing on the PSN and SCEE fucks up the launch and releases it with a whimper. It's not even in the Latest section yet.

I spend most of my limited gaming time learning whatever fighting game I'm interested at the time. So spending $3 a month to supplement that with other games is amazing for me. I understand why people are upset because they've already played the games, but I haven't, and would not have.

So I am more than happy with my US PS+ subscription, and will continue to be.

It'll probably get advertised with a blog spot tomorrow or on Wednesday. Plus they're getting quite some money from PS+, which always helps.

i Saw this beeing answered somwhere in some thread but i can't find it.

DL'ed RDR for free and now it shows up as 1hour-Trial version. what do i need to do?

There should be a trial version and a key unlock. Most PSN games that have demos do this.

So I just finished Retro Grade. Miles better than I expected. I hope they keep giving us these random indie titles.

Yeah it's part of their Playstation Plus Presents to give attention to cool indie games on PSN.

We've got Really Big Sky and Knytt Underground coming up

No idea what those are, but I hope they're as good as Retro Grade. That soundtrack was killer.

Seeing as there was a 25% discount on PS+, I went ahead and resubscribed for another year. I should have checked earlier, but I assumed the year I just bought would be added to my current subscription. But when I checked my Services List, it listed my PS+ expiring a year today.

Is that a mistake or simply the way it works?

Every day since I got PS+, I've had "damaged data" every time I turn on my PS3. I don't loose any games or save files (I think) but in the game section it's always this damaged data. Anyone else has this issue? I've used that PS+ feature where it turns on itself during night and updates, and I think that's what's causing it.

I think I'm ready to jump on the Plus bandwagon (also the Journey Collectors Edition came with some free time;)

Question: the discounts seem ok, and there seems to be a decent amount of free games. When my subscription expires, do I keep those free games forever? (Google presents some conflicting info on this...)

No, but you can access them back if you resubscribe

Unfortunately, you don't.

Q: What happens to the games I downloaded from the Instant Game Collection if I decide to not renew my membership?

A: You will not be able to access free games downloaded with Plus if you choose not to renew your membership. However, if you decide to re-activate your membership, you will once again be able to play all games downloaded from the Instant Game Collection.

I've used Auto-Update since i signed up for PS+ on day one and never had a problem like this.

@lonegreaywolf -- Do you completely turn off your PS3 at night? As in, perhaps you have it attached to an outlet that is controlled by a lightswitch/timer, or something of this nature. I've had this error occur because my PS3 lost power when it was in the process of shutting down.

So Scott Pilgrim vs. The World has been added to PS+ for NA this month as well as early access to Jet Set Radio (Playstation Blog).

"Early" access for games isn't something I really care about and I already bought Scott Pilgrim. Guess I'm settling for Double Dragon Neon this month. I've had terrible luck with the recent additions... :(

Here's hoping for better perks in the next update.

Edit: Also, freaking LOL at the Max Payne 3 "deal"

Well yeah, I turn it off completely, but no, I do not stop the power with a timer or anything like that.

Well, you get 10% off too.

True, I kinda overlooked that. But it's only a dollar. It's not like that dollar was preventing me from buying. It's nice for those who were gonna get it anyway but it's hardly a convincing impulse buy type discount, for me personally.

Edit: Why do we have two threads dedicated to Playstation Plus? I think it should be a monthly thread that details the updates instead of a huge catch-all thread. Either way, we're fracturing the discussion.

Hey, I'm a bit confused with all this. From what I hear if you sign up for a PSN subscription (say 3 months) you could technically download Outland, Double Dragon, Bloodrayne etc. for "free" and keep them indefinitely?

Now what about the retail releases like Borderlands, Ratchet All 4 One etc.? Are they just time trials or do you loose access after the month is over?

Not really explained very well in the store.

Thanks

I wish the US got the 25% off PS+

I would buy a 2 $20 PSN cards 15% off from my local retailer, and then use that to purchase it lol.

Hopefully they add the Vita stuff soon so I can hope on-board.

If a game is free, you can only play it if your subscription to PS+ is active (even if you let your sub expire and then resubscribe). This applies to all types of games (retail or PSN titles).
If you pay any bit of money for any game it is yours forever, regardless of PS+ status.
It gets tricky with avatars and themes, but I think those are forever yours unconditionally, both the free and paid variety.

Now what about the retail releases like Borderlands, Ratchet All 4 One etc.? Are they just time trials or do you loose access after the month is over?

Some retail titles (I think exclusive to PS+) have a 1-hour trial download that allows you to try a game out for, well, an hour. You have to download the entire game. It's merely a trial period.
But other than that, the same rules apply as previously noted.

There has got to be 5 or more people per page asking about how the free game system works and if you get to keep them. Granted I was one of them in July edition I think it stands to make a point that there NEEDS to be something in the OP. That way people can (at most quote) the OP to keep things simple and consistent when responding to these requests, or (at minimum) direct the poster to the OP to look for himself. Best case scenario people aren't lazy, they look before asking, and we clean up the thread a little bit.

What was that about people not being lazy and looking before asking? :P
I agree that link should be in every thread though.
