So I bought Tomb Raider II from PSN just on principle of loving Anniversary, and being told that TRII is supposedly awesome, but this thread isn't about TRII, or at least, not the game proper.
When I loaded it up, and it got to the loading splash screen, I noticed that Lara and the logo looked very... squished....
So I went into the PS button options, and tried widescreen, and voila!
(For comparison. Seems the original logo's proportions don't really match up 1:1 to either :/)
I didn't know what to think. Since when had PS1 games supported widescreen? I further tested to see if it was just me being weird.
Nope. Game looks awkward w/o widescreen as well.
Doing a quick google on "PS1 widescreen games list" and its variants brings up very few results, with a few people listing things out, alongside other undetailed features like dolby surround, but no solid wiki-esque list.
It seems to trigger automatically, though, unlike PS2 games, so I'm not sure what to think about this. :S Did you guys know that some PS1 games had widescreen?
