PS4 features you want Sony to fix/add?

When I write Finnish, I want to use ÅÄÖ without these being hidden in a submenu. It's probably the same for swedish, etc, but it's just so inconsiderate layout for us.
Imagine if you hide the letter B in a separate menu for English layout. Makes writing a bit annoying.

I would be happy with DLNA, external hard drive support, and folders. Backwards compatibility would be great, but it wont happen.

More stability, Sony!

3D Bluray playback. My daughter said it best the other day: "Why do I have to use the old console to watch Bolt in 3D? The PS4 should do it."

She doesn't have to. 3D support was added long ago.

Would love to have:
PSN Not Go Down Every Time a New Game Comes Out, or Christmas, or the Super Bowl, or the weekend, or on days ending in the letter "y"

Also:
DLNA
Appear offline/away/custom messages - as my son and I share an account "X is playing now. Y is doing homework."
A way to reorganize the apps
A real keyboard for the DS4 - think the Chatpad from the 360

Would be great if these were improved:
NAT issues with party chat
Error messages when joining friends' games
Messages being terribly inconsistent

Now that we can pause downloads and have mp3 background playback I am pretty happy (for now).

Would still like a few more things

-Home screen customization like in OP
-Backup to external HDD (or even use one to run games from)
-Download queueing where you can choose how many active downloads at once, then it just works its way through the list
-A PS3 style standby mode. On PS4 you either have it off or in 'rest mode' where if you unplug it the HDD has a chance of corruption. Rest mode has it's advantages, but I would like another option where the PS4 turns on once a day and checks for updates then turns back off, you can choose the time in the options like PS3. This would save power and reduce chance of hard drive corruption (in case of power outage etc.) while mostly keeping the system up to date.
-PSX/PS2 BC (at least of digital titles)

Home screen customization; mainly folders, pinning tiles to a fixed location and being able to hide all of your undownloaded apps/games (FFS Sony if I wanted to see Contrast or Amazon Video on my list I would download them proper).
This is all I need I don't care about anything else, Soony plz!

Two come to mind, and make me game more on the XBO than on my PS4.

1. Suspend / Resume
It's quite possibly the best feature in console gaming, since online gaming. It works very well on my XBO.

2. PiP / Snapping
I like remote playing with my vita, while having something else on my tv, but it's a hampered experience due to slight video artifacts, occasional lag and a lesser control option not as good as an actual controller, compared to the XBO's snapping. Both the game and app/tv are on the same screen and you use the normal controller.

As trivial as this sounds, I want to be able to delete alphas and betas from my library. It drives me crazy seeing the library filled with them after they are done.

- The ability to hide items in the Library
FFS Sony, I don't need Betas and Demos cluttering up my Library. I have two betas for Destiny, and Destiny itself. I have a Beta for FFXIV and the game itself, and now I have two Betas for Battlefield Hardline. I purposely didn't play the latest Evolve Beta on PS4 because it would have added yet another useless tile to my library. Betas in particular can't ever be used again, yet we are stuck with them showing up in our Library. Also, many demos aren't properly labeled as Demos so they make it appear that you have the actual game when you don't. Not being able to hide these things is the single most frustrating thing about the entire OS for a mainly digital consumer.
Sometimes not downloading something isn't enough to prevent it showing up on my library. The Lego:LOTR demo shows up on my list and I never once downloaded it. If you click it, it tells me it needs to download the demo. I KNOW, why the hell are you on my list?!

Off the top of my head...

- Double-tapping the Share button should do something. For example, right now I single-tap to save a screenshot and hold it to bring up the full menu if I want to save a video, but I think it would be nice if I could double-tap the button the save a 30-second video clip.

But double tapping IS working. In setup where One tap is taking screenshot, double tap will start recording video, so You can fine tune your recordings

All I want is PS3 controller support. I have multiplayer games that I want to play but I don't want to shell out another $50-60 for a controller. I know that the touchpad is missing but I'm sure they could just replace the button function with select or something...

DLNA and a media remote like PS3s
Bluetooth support for all headsets like PS3
Suspend/Resume
PSVita support for downloading games and transferring like PS3

I want Skype added (maybe unlikely sins microsoft owns it).
Resume play should be added , the rest mode take forever.
Also creating own folders, the library right now is mess.

The biggest issue I have right now is the main menu. I do not like how it is just one long bar that reorganizes based on what has been recently used. It needs to be changed to be more efficient and visually appealing.

sony needs to hurry up and add Tsuyoi to the system.

game changer right there.

Tsuyoi Mode.
Actually I'd love to be able to change my PSN name.

Dear Gents

Tsuyoi mode is confirmed to not be "comming" to PS4.

It is now in fact a delicious looking pudding simulator, instead of a delicious lightweight operating system with custom graphic sliders. Cannot choose which I prefer with an empty stomach. Be right back. Salute

I don't have PS4 yet but if I know right these features are still not available:

Playstation 4 software design improvement suggestions:

This is a collection of Playstation 4 related software design elements (user interface) issues that should be addressed. Some of the elements might also apply for PS3, PS Vita consoles.

All of the suggested problems in design and their proposed fixes are based on well-known HCI and specifically user interface design methodology and terms (affordance, ease-of-use, etc).

1. PS4 menu: Deactivating a console is hidden behind a menu button labeled ‘Activate as your primary PS4’
- This is slightly confusing for the user as there is no Affordance (cause-effect)
- FIX: Change the label to ‘Activate/De-activate as a primary PS4’

2. Typing: Foreign keyboard layouts are not designed for normal typing
- Frequently used keys are hidden under a separate L3 button click
- E.g. Finnish layout hides ÅÄÖ under a separate menu.
- An example: A Finnish sentence of “Älä sano että tätä ei voi tehdä” requires 6 extra clicks for the users
- This is unintuitive and against learned methods.
- User should not have to learn new character placements for established methods (Consistency and standards)
- Less menu actions is better than more actions. (Efficiency of use)
- FIX: Add appropriate characters to the main keyboard layout for appropriate countries

3. PSN store: bottom tooltip appears on top of game covers
- The tooltip includes back, select and options button tips appearing on the screen after a second
- FIX: Change the tooltip appearance to when user is scrolling the menu, or
- Make the tooltip appear and disappear after a two second delay, or
- Make the game covers used screen space not be behind the tooltips

4. PSN store: Redeem code doesn’t need hyphens
- Entering a code into the ‘Redeem code’ text field does not indicate a hyphen is not needed (help and tooltips)
- FIX: Use a tooltip to indicate a hyphen is not needed to the user, or
- FIX 2: Automatically have three separate boxes with autofilled hyphens in between

5. PSN store: has a lot of poorly machine translated content for saome languages
- This creates an association of badly managed content for the user (Consistency and standards)
- FIX: Use a real translator services even for small content

6. Saved data: Each save must be individually uploaded
- Every save file has to be selected individually
- This is slow and against ease-of-use method for power users (efficiency of use)
- FIX: Add a select all for easier uploading and/or downloading of saves

7. PS4 to PS4 transfer: Only cloud is used for save data when doing transfers
- There is no option for direct transfer of files from an old PS4 to a new PS4
- Downloading files again from the internet is slow (efficiency of use)
- FIX: Offer a USB HDD backup and restore option
- FIX 2: Offer a PS4 to PS4 transfer option

8. Typing Japanese: Predictive word input is only for HIRAGANA
- Using ROMAJI to write Japanese does not have predictive hiragana/katakana/kanji
- This is inconsistent with common input methods used for writing in Japanese
- FIX: Add predictive words for ROMAJI typing

9. PS3-PS4: Data shown across platforms is not consistent
- A user with a PS3 does not see the content sent from a PS4 (example a photo)
- This is not indicated to the user
- A user looking at a player in the ‘Friends list’ does not see the platform of the game unless they click the users name
- This is relevant information to users e.g. to prevent accidental game invitations
- FIX: Add the platform for the game in the main view
- FIX 2: Add capabilities of messaging information from PS3 to PS4 or add the possibility to send photos
