PS4 features you want Sony to fix/add?

I wouldn't worry about that too much.

Rest Mode is a special low-power mode that shouldn't hurt the overall longevity of the console. Think of it like closing the lid on a laptop to put it to sleep. It's built to handle it.
Well, I spent all my saving money buying the PS4 so think I should be more careful with this pricey thing. That's said, I often leave my PS4 in rest mode for many hours to charge controllers. So I guess nothing will happen if I leave it there during the night :)

What's the deal with the what's new tab? I can't figure out what it's supposed to show (sometimes is shows everything, sometimes I'd shows nothing) and it's littered with ads.... Revamp that whole thing... That experience at Xbox is vastly superior

In addition to uncompressed PNG screenshot exports, I think we should be able to turn off the share button icon indicator whenever you snap screens. The sound indicator works well without the need for any visual feedback, there's no point in this eyesore icon showing up whenever you want to consecutively take snapshots.

At the very least it would be nice if you could reduce the time it is on screen.

I'm generally happy with the UI. It's so fast and easy to use compared to the 360.

If I'm having to look for improvement I suppose I could suggest:

- the ability to make playlists for the USB music player. I have something like 2000 files on the USB stick. I don't usually want to play the whole lot or even albums.

- Better searching and filtering on all menus. For example the TV and Video menu should probably default to only programs you've downloaded first and most commonly used at the very front. The other non-downloaded apps should be listed after that.

- I wish I could make Games/New Releases/Games be the default page the store (UK) opens up into as its one of the places I most commonly look at and its a click away from checking the new DLC releases too.
Currently I have to pick Games then New Releases then scroll sideways through the tiles to be able to pick Games.
Unless there's a quicker way I'm missing of course. But that's the point - I should be able to set the page as my default or something.

- I would quite like some kind of opional visualizer style app for the USB music player.

- the option to have a more customisable theme. Alter the music, colours and pattern more.
The theme support is pretty crappy at the moment in the UK.

- The ability to send out a flag when I log on so they know I'm on without having to create a party. Maybe the ability to put a flag up that lets your friends know you are looking to play a certain game. Also the ability to block such things if you choose to 'appear offline' when you are watching films etc.

- Better quality output for share button settings. The option to share stuff with more places. Can you use the PS4 to share the screenshots and videos on the USB with the better quality for example? If not then why not?

the option to view someones trophy list instead of having to compare and unnecessarily load all my trophies aswell

This is the "clock fix" of this generation. A very obvious oversight that is taking forever to be fixed.

Jesus, this. I know I've taken a picture, don't bother me with this.

Fix- The avatar thing, small detail, but it gets to me for reasons I can't fathom.

Add- Blank has logged in.
Blank is also playing The Last of Us.

Allow a remote control to be used with the system. What is the point of blu-ray functionality if you can't use a remote control. I still watch all movies on my ps3.

I want the ability to delete trophies because right now I don't feel like I have ownership over that aspect of my experience. Trophies are supposed to be a list of my greatest gaming accomplishments, but currently they're more like an inventory list of all the junk in my garage I want to get rid of but can't. I'd be okay with it lowering my score level thing if necessary (I couldn't even tell you what this number is tbh).

If this is not possible I'd like to see them introduce folders for the trophy system with the ability to hide certain folders not only from others but from myself as well. I could have a folder for 100% games, a folder for games in-progress, and a folder for games I will never play again and don't want to see or share.
I'm kind of with you on this. Would gladly welcome the option to delete earned trophies from my profile (even with the loss of trophy level that would result) just to clear out the junk I have no interest in seeing ever again.

Beyond that, it would be nice to offer this to people should they wish to have the option of earning trophies a second time on the same profile instead of starting a unique one.

- Folders.
- Set status like busy, appear offline etc.

Dunno why people are getting screenshots with the icon, I never do. I have it set to press for screenshot, hold to share. The default is reversed, is that the problem?

- Wishlists in the store

I know that's kind of odd, but I think it'd be great if I could flag games and DLC that I'd eventually like to buy, but might not be ready to do so right at the moment. It'd be a nice way to keep track of all that, rather than keeping a list elsewhere or just exploring the store.

Suspend/resume. Hitting the PS Button would zoom the game into the tile on the XMB (Screenshot of where you suspended would replace the games icon with the games name below it)

They should steal the way the 360 would remember controller preferences and default a game to Inverted if you set that in the system settings.

I wish they would:

-Fix the damn messaging system. Don't understand how a standard feature such as txt messages could be so broken.

-Fix twitch streaming so it displays the correct title. Every time I change the title of the stream for a new game, the old title still shows up on my facebook and twitter feeds.

How about when Deleting games there be an option to not delete the update patches? That way we can memory manage our hdd and still easily reinstall games from disc and play the full game immediately - including the online component.

Cheers

-Resume play
-More sorting options for the library (including the hability to hide demos & betas )
-multimedia options ( image viewer, video playback )

- DLNA Support

- External Hard drive support.

- Support more Racing Wheels/Fight Sticks/PS3/PS4 compatibility.

- Suspend/Resume.

- Screenshots as menu background.

Real features that I think could happen? I better way to format the game bar than "most recently played". Make the PSN store on PS4 not ass (i.e. not like the PS3 version). External hard drive video playback. Suspend/Resume (really REALLY REALLY think this should be a priority)

Features that I want more than I care to admit? Playstation classic support. They have even said that it does not make financial sense to stream PS1 games, just port the Emulator and make it work. I would even pay a re-licensing fee if money is a problem.

Make the playlists ,in that case folders on the USB itself.

I can't believe the fact that in 2015 I can't remove demo, games and apps to appear in my library. I want folders and customization options.

With the lack of PS+ save storage space, I had to transfer a bunch of saves from my old PS4 to a new one via a USB stick, but there's no "copy all" function. Copying everything game by game takes way longer than it should, but it could be fixed pretty easily.

Show as offline
Fix the in console store. Never boots up when Ps4 is up for some time.
Game icons, a lot of my games have been reduced to library, which is awkward. I basically forget about them or think I deleted them. Make a Games folder or just come up with folders anyway.
copy all saves. Its a burden to do them one by one.

Seriously, I just want a bluetooth media remote control!

I have my PS3 in the front room that only does movies and digital media, and I really want to move it. Sadly the rest of the family really needs that remote (it works the TV as well).

Needs a better search function when looking for friends. I hate typing in the exact name in finding every other person who has a similar text string and having to sift through to find who I'm looking for.

It's the exact same process with PS+ cloud saves as well. Incredibly tedious.

Couple of things I can think of that I'd love for the console to have.

- Suspend/Resume
- Notifications when friends come online (I think this is in the works already)
- PSN Name changes.
- Better home-bar management like folders and the ability to hide certain icons.
- Not specifically software related, but I'd like an Official Media Remote. Can't believe we still don't have one.

Suspend-Resume as promised
External Drives like every other current gen console
Friend notifications
The ability to use Avatars we bought on PS3 (how is this still not an option?)

Sony better have a big feature list this E3 that they're working towards or it will really seem like they've been sitting on their hands.

3D Bluray playback. My daughter said it best the other day: "Why do I have to use the old console to watch Bolt in 3D? The PS4 should do it."

Along with 3D - every other media feature the PS3 did but the PS4 does not.

Just my opintion: I am often reading PS1/2 emulation support.

=> Forget it, PSNow is your (paid) PS1/2 emulation support, nothing else will come there.

Custom backgrounds will come soon: http://www.zombiearmy.com/downloads/signedup => See here: "Note for PS4 users: The ability to set a background should be available in an upcoming System Software update."

Friends notifications we saw in the promo video some weeks ago, so this should also be ready soon.

Folders/organization
Suspend/Resume
Chat audio going through speakers
More audio options on par with PS3
Uncompressed screen caps

i don't personally own any 3d blurays but i thought they added this in last june?

Home screen customization. I want a gaming folder with my games listed neatly inside. I HATE having tiles spreading across the screen and I don't want to scroll all the way over to a "media" section to get a list of my installed games it should be a quick click of a folder right at the beginning of my list. Let me customize the quick launch to MY liking, otherwise I want folder groups. If it's not broken, stop trying to "fix" it! :)
