PS4-Gaf: review your launch titles

Knack : 6
BF4: 7(a 9 if it worked the way it supposed to be)
NFS:R : 7
Killzone SF : 8.5 (MP is very fun.)
AC4 : 9
resogun : 9

Killzone: SF: 8/10 Amazing graphics, solid campaign and very fun multiplayer.

BF4: 8/10 Playable campaign, fun multiplayer. I have never played these games before and I suck and that is annoying. And WTF is wrong with that campaign save corruption!!!

Resogun: 7/10 I never play these kind of games and I suck, but whatever... It's fun, "free" and looks great.

Gonna pick up AssCreed IV used eventually, but I have to beat the previous ones first and that is going to take a while.

Killzone SF: 8/10 (great campaign, fantastic multiplayer and outstanding tech)

AC4: 8/10 (best AC so far, the locked framerate really helped to enjoy a AC game for the first time and the naval fights were great)

FIFA: 8/10 (really surprised me, it's a leap jump to current gen)

Battlefield 4: 8/10 (60 fps and still great performance. If it wasn't for those bugs I might rate it a 9)

Resogun: 9/10 (best arcade shooter in years)

Contrast: 6/10 (liked the style and art but it runs pretty bad and feels shallow)

Best launch in quality ever for me and I started with the NES.

KZ SF: 7/10 Beautiful to look at. Single player is poorly designed. Multiplayer has issues (over powered turrets, Grenade launcher suicides) but is largely excellent

Resogun 8/10 Again a looker. Addictive but limited to improving high scores. Awesome freebie

5 is my neutral point, whenever I score stuff.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag 8.5/10

Despite liking the previous instalment more than most, there's no denying it, it wasn't great. It was a victim of unnecessary bloat, an uninteresting protagonist and an ending that's just embarrassing. Well, who'd have thought a game fired out one year later could be such a comeback?

There's no shaking that feeling that you're simply playing a game designed for the previous generation, brought up to speed. But it's still mighty impressive, thanks to some of the best water and weather effects you'll have ever seen and detail now allowed to shine through thanks to 1080p.

Edward Kenway, while still no Ezio, is a marked improvement over conner and a likeable enough roughish character. What definitely works though, is how he finds himself accidentally thrust into the war between Assassins and Templars and having him fudge through the details early on, leads to some surprisingly tense scenes.

Best of all though is what a joy it is to now explore and participate in the world, as raiding ships, trading goods, hunting and leveling up both yourself and your ship are all fun and addictive activities. The amount of activities and collectables that exist simply to fill bars, could be considered bloat too, but I'll take it over the unnecessary hand holding and tutorializing the previous game was plagued with. Combat and stealth mechanics both feel like they're in desperate need of a shake up though, despite the minor improvements both received since the last game.

It's a game that capitalizes on a shared fantasy of what a fun pirate game should be and it's succeeds probably thanks to no small amount of looting from Sid Meier's game.

Killzone: Shadow Fall 7.5/10

Shadow Fall's campaign works, mostly, but it's both tepid and full of attempts to elicit emotional reactions, which quite frankly, fall flat almost every time. It's thankfully held up by amazing gunplay, mostly good enemy encounters, a criminally underrated soundtrack and fantastic art realized through incredible tech.

Multiplayer, while not living up the series's best, is quite frankly much better than I expected it to be and I haven't even had a chance to play with friends or Gaf yet.

Battlefield 4 ?/10

It's not too bad, when it actually works...

Resogun 9/10

The only game I have completed is Resogun for reference

Resogun- 8.5, lots of old school fun. Want that 3D update

AC4- 9, best AC so far, such fun being a pirate and it looks great.

BF4- 9, the multiplayer is insane stupid fun. I don't have the endless crashes everyone else has.

K:SF- 5, looks fantastic but I couldn't care less.

NFS- 8.5, some stupid online issues (host migration), but the core gameplay is just fun. (I haven't extensively played a NFS game in many years)

Resogun - 8/10
