This thread makes me happy I my buyer flaked on my and never paid. Now I'm enjoying the hell out of my ps4 and avoided these headaches.
Its basically down to $500 on Ebay. The next shipment will likely kill the resell market.
I don't remember ps3s selling out. Did they? I got my launch version quite easily.ps2 and ps3 had worse launch lineups and sold out. It's not about the games, there are just a lot of consoles out there...

I have a funny feeling that even with Sony shipping a lot of PS4s, the holiday stretch is when the resellers market will take off.
Parents tend to start their holiday shopping around Black Friday, and they're the ones who will typically pay exorbitant prices for the latest hot console that their child and all his friends are dying for. Hardcore gamers likely know better (and are also probably less well-heeled) than to spend hundreds over the retail price. Also, parents aren't going to follow trade magazines or sites that talk about impending console releases, so at a console's launch, you're not going to see your average American parent aware of that launch. The tepid resellers market right now reflects that.
The big three always want their consoles to be the "it" item that Christmas where every news network can't shut up about that one toy that is in high demand. That "it" factor isn't going to come from a console that is in stock everywhere you look. Tickle Me Elmo was a piece of crap toy that was worth it's weight in gold, only because it was extremely hard to find in stores. Sony knows this, and will likely hold supplies back to gain such a fervor around the PS4.
I could be completely off-base here, but historically I think this is the most likely scenario.
X1 averaging out a bit more price wise on ebay.
Who would of thought!

I'm banking on this. If it doesn't happen on or around Black Friday, I'm shipping it back to Amazon.
Kids' No. 1 holiday wish? PS4 for boys (CNET)
The iPhone wasn't the most popular choice of gadget among boys. They -- clearly needing to release copious amounts of pent-up boyishness -- chose the PlayStation 4 as their No. 1.
However, such was the iPhone dominance among the girls' desires (41 percent) that the overall results gave Apple the win.

Not sure how anybody is making a profit on ps4s. I was just at my local best buy taking advantage of their $100 promo for turning in ps3 or xbox360 and they had 15 ps4s available for sale. They said a lot of returns already likely from people that bought them thinking they could turn a quick profit coupled with a handful that never came in to pick their preorder up.
Just shaking my head at the people in here still telling themselves prices are going to go back up closer to xmas. You're deluding yourselves.
Seems if you didn't sell Friday or Saturday at $600, you've missed the boat. Kind of strange given what I just posted above about none of the local stores having stock.
I thought everyone knew this. That's why I sold mine before launch for 650-700 and was happy. Earlier is better.
Yup, I jumped on it Thursday night/Friday morning and made around $250 profit between the two Playstation 4's I sold.
So I sold a PS4 on eBay last week and now the buyer opened a case on me saying that the product was defective.
Why open a case? Why not just contact me first?
Anyways, they want a refund and to send the product back to me. I told them to contact Sony with regards to their "defective" console. They're now saying that they can't contact Sony because they didn't buy it from a retailer, I did. Is this true?
What are my options fellow GAFers?
What the fuck is going on over at eBay? How come I'm seeing so many Xbox Ones ending auctions for barely over market value so close to the launch date?

If you are cynical, it sounds like they are trying to scam you.
You could always offer to send your receipt to them.
Lack of interest.
Hope it works out. If they are trying to scam you, I really don't know what you can do though. eBay basically sides on the buyer all the time. :/I'm going to send the receipt.

How could they scam me if they're willing to send the console back to me?
If they send you back a box of rocks, guess who eBay will side with in the case of a dispute? I'll give you a clue: the one with a tracking number. How could they scam me if they're willing to send the console back to me?
Because people are entitled fucks and eBay, Amazon and co. give in to their every whim.
Different console/controller, different innards, box filled with rocks, etc...

The only reason it isnt dead already is because of Black Friday.
Alot of retailers are withholding stock to draw people in Friday.
E.G. my Walmart is sitting at least 15, and will probally get another shipment in this week.
Oh okay.
One more thing, the receipt has the last four digits of my CC number. Should I leave it or black it out?
Or get a gift receipt if it's from a major retailer.Oh okay.

eBay makes it too fucking easy to scam a seller. So I sold a PS4 on eBay last week and now the buyer opened a case on me saying that the product was defective.

Saw a dude flipping one at the Post Office yesterday. Changing labels to the new address. Kinda pathetic.
