Using Hulu plus or Netflix...Are there any features or things in general that disabling HDCP will turn off or not allow me to do?
Sigh...I still can't get Dolby or DTS audio through HDMI -_-
FAT32... NTFS didn't work because it is proprietary. My PS4 isn't recognizing my USB stick. What should I be formatting it to?
Sorry if this has been asked already.

Finally!
The black crush has been fixed when recording gameplay! No more darkened videos!

It was before... less than 5 seconds for sure... my HDTV takes more time.Is it just me or is the boot from standby now instantaneous?
How do you have everything setup?

OP. Installed in seconds... really fast and small updade... no issue... UI way faster.

Odd, mine's been working without problems. RXV1067.The PS4 now works with my Yamaha receiver, even with HDCP still enabled. Before this update the HDCP handshake would break it and I'd have to use a HDCP stripper or plug directly into the TV.
HDMI from PS4 to TV then Optical from TV to home theater.

Are you sure your TV does Dolby/DTS passthrough?
I thought you lost surround on a setup like this?
What would the point of giving an HDTV an optical port be if it couldn't do passthrough? It would almost be reliant on pass through.

You do. I don't think I've seen any TVs that will pass through Dolby or DTS through the TV. He'd need to go from the PS4 to the receiver direct via optical in this situation.
Not true. My Vizio does, passes 5.1 Dolby through its optical port. I don't have a receiver but a Sonos center speaker and rear surrounds. Sonos confirms it is receiving a 5.1 Dolby signal.

No, its same as before. Sometimes PS4 does not shut down completely when it works something. But most of the time it will go to full standby mode, where it requires 20-30 secs for wake up boot.
Use optical directly from the PS4 to the receiver to get surround sound. Optical out from TVs rarely forwards HDMI sound in anything but regular stereo, likely due to copyright reasons (hdmi is protected, optical is not).
Lol Apple corrector... or maybe I typed wrong but I mean NTFS.NTFS, not NTSC.
Wow, seems a pretty awesome update!
Sadly there is some things they need to do:
-Fix automatic video recording. Since, at my system and others that already related that, it just record the 1st 15 minutes of your gameplay (and then you need to mannualy put it to record if you want something later then this).
Faster UI navigation and USB uploads are really great thoug!

HDTVs have optical ports to output audio from OTA broadcasts mainly. But that's an entirely different beast from passing through
For broadcast TV.
Almost no tvs will passthrough via optical.
Don't ask me, ask manufacturers.
The only sets I know that do HDMI passthrough are a few Sony TV's and even then, that's only with Dolby and no DTS.
Audio Settings: You can now force the PS4 to output 5.1 channel audio over HDMI even if it detects 7.1 channel support.
Well when I timed it at launch I got avg. 3 seconds to homescreen... Standby to Killzone menu in less than 15 seconds.Hmm maybe I'm misremembering.
20 seconds is my cold boot... Standby is way way faster... 3 seconds most if time. No, its same as before. Sometimes PS4 does not shut down completely when it works on something. But most of the time it will go to full standby mode, where it requires 20-30 secs for wake up boot.

Yeah, my PS3 outputs 5.1 with this setup. That's why I was pretty confused. I have a Samsung
It wouldn't surprise me if the automatic recording was fixed now, what with all the sharing work they've done.
In that case, are you sure your ps4 is sending a DD or DTS signal and not PCM?
There should be a setting for that.
