i really hope sony was diverting a heavy amount of resources towards getting suspend/resume going, and from here on out meaningful firmware updates will be more frequent
That was my exact line of thought earlier ,getting shareplay and suspend resume out was probably priority for Sony so yeah hopefully things run more frequently nowi really hope sony was diverting a heavy amount of resources towards getting suspend/resume going, and from here on out meaningful firmware updates will be more frequent
I read this as Yurikuma.

I'm not too optimistic about that unfortunately. Last gen the community was very vocal about the updates being too frequent.
Will definitely look for this option when I get home. It's "hidden" inside Settings->PSN->Privacy Settings->Connect with Friends
;-)
I wonder how Remote Play at 60 will work on Vita because of the awful Wi-Fi chip. Unless they've massively improved the compression or something :/
I was hoping the next big update would include a data transfer utility. It was listed on a previous update list, but apparently removed before it came out. I have a 2TB HDD I want to upgrade to, but I don't really want to have to re-download ~400GB from PSN (including both games and patches). Does anyone think this is coming soon, or should I just upgrade now before making it worse by downloading Bloodborne (another ~30GB)?
18 seconds to the splash screen, 22 to gameplay. The 2.50 has backup system similar to the PS3's.... that's all I will say...
Also here is a better look at rest mode resuming....

Just curious, any news on Spotify coming in this update, or at a (much) later date? Just really want my music on PS4 through Spotify.

Wonder how much difference an SSD makes.
I wouldn't say a bunch. Going back through that website you provided:
1. Ability to change User ID
2. PS4 compatibility with g25 steering wheel
3. DualShock 4 compatibility for PS Vita Remote Play
4. Convert PSN Sub Account to Master Account
5. Enhance PS4 Video Support
6. Delete trophies with 0%
7. PS4 notifications for friends sign-on/offs
8. PS2 Classics on PS4
9. Arabic language and keyboard support
10. PS4 YouTube app
11. PS4: Pause and prioritize downloads
12. 3D Blu-ray Support on PS4
13. Quick PS4 game/chat invite
14. Display total time spent playing
15. Offline Trophies on PS4
16. Game gifting on PlayStation Store
17. Let PS3 friends see me on PS4
18. DLNA support
19. Option to put games in folders
20. Multiple accounts on PS Vita
Some of those hey already had but a lot is still missing. I don't even see suspend/resume as most requested on that website.
Hahaha.
Interesting, that's more like 10/11 seconds to splash, 12 to gameplay. From brief observations resume time can vary depending on various things like disc vs digital and if media app is running in background along side game (GTA5 disc with Netflix was loaded in that previous video)
Here is digital Saints Row 4 with no Apps in background

Because of course none of the accessibility options count as being meaningful.
Huh? I'm pretty sure he wasn't implying that this update isn't meaningful. Just that the frequency of updates was somewhat low.

It's been like that for at least a few weeks now. Noticed it on my gf's PS3.Damn, they changed the PlayStation Network logo yet again.
They had that. It was crap.
fuckin hell...
Slightly off topic, but I need some help.
My ps4 won't boot to the OS, and instead is telling me to reinstall the firmware via USB drive. I've downloaded the firmware, put it on usb and it's saying it can't find the update file. OK, so I boot into safe mode, and select to update from there. They give me the option to do it from the internet, and it doesn't work. Tried the option via usb, doesn't work. I have no idea what is going on. About 10 minutes before this started I was playing Alien Isolation with no issue. Came back to power the system on and this is what I was greeted with.
Any help at all?
Edit: I see Rebuild Database, but that scares me...
Edit 2: Ok, I can't even Rebuild the Database. Is my last option a system wipe?
There are two versions of system software: Full version (under small black "DOWNLOAD NOW" button) and update version (under "DOWNLOAD UPDATE" button).
If you downloaded the update version and the PS4 is not recognizing it, try the full version.

Unplug the power cord, wait a while. Reset, choose the first option (restart ps4 or something). My ps4 stuck on the safe mode loop as well, and this worked for me.
The ps4 will be initialized. All users and all data will be deleted. Are you sure you want to continue?
[No] [Yes]
sony said:Users will also be able to reassign buttons for DualShock 4, making it easier for users with limited manual dexterity or limited reach and strength to play.
What is so terrible about it?
Huh? What's wrong with cohesive braending?
