Fucking High Road man.
Edit: Wait, no stability? Oh well, the dog is cute.
I never heard of this hack, any links to support the claim? If this true it could be Dreamcast catastrophic and I hope Sony fixes it.I wonder if this update has to do with the recent hack that enable infinite game sharing by using a pcb inside the PS4.
The PS3 was worsei'm getting tired of these. why can't they lump all these stability/performance updates together and put them out once a month or something? i hate having to update my PS4 so often. can i at least postpone it or is it required to access online?

Aww yis.
Preparing for that 5.0.
Hopefully this is the fix for PS4 FFXIV users who sometimes have to re-download the game because it apparently just breaks or something
In this specific case, this one needed to go out ASAP since the issue that was affecting FFXIV players was rather serious (having to redownload 20+ GB if they turned the system off without logging out of the game, e.g. a power outage). It turned out to be a problem on Sony's end so a firmware update was necessary to fix it.
Do we have any idea what 5.0 will add?
Downsamp----HAHAHAHADo we have any idea what 5.0 will add?
This is one case where we actually know. Read up.I wonder what these patches improve.

This usually happens at a console midlife. Hopefully it happens this time too.Performance? I hope more ram is unlocked.

Since the last update (before this newest one), i almost daily get a notification in PS4 about 'New events i might like' even though i have the box for notifications about events unchecked.
Sure would make my PS4 more stable if i didnt have to see those anymore.
Same, but with 'new posts from your communities!' for me. I checked/unchecked that box so many times, still getting that notification every day.
But what comes after stability and quality?

The problem with FF14 is that besides the game being fully downloaded using PS4 system, you need to start the game and download more files (almost same size as the full game) while the game is running which may cause the console to overheat for a long time.
I hope they solve this too so users can download all the file from the PS4 system without needing to launch the game.
5.0 at psx?
This is the worst part of the PS4. It feels like every month MS is adding a new feature to the OS or improving the quality of life on XBO. I wish Sony made such frequent improvements. Its been so, so long since we had a big update.
I hate Sony's approach to these things. 3 years to this gen, PS4 should be the ultimate media powerhouse. The browser sucks and we can't still use the mouse pad to browse in the internet or through the UI.

Did Xbox fix the rest mode yet it's pretty spotty afaik used to read alot of complaints of this one and not as good as PS4 rest modeSorry but have MS finally fixed the atrocious time of game install on xbox one? Because to me this is what can change the quality of life of the System.
What have changed on the X1 system in the last 3 month that have changed the quality of "life" on XBO?
Well, whatever that update did, My pro doesn't like it. First restart and it told me to insert a USB key with firmware on it - next it loaded but hung after loading the desktop + Theme, and now it's just hung on the blue screen before the theme loads...

"The strange thing for us is we got a lot of criticism in PS3 time about doing a lot of releases very quickly and so we listened to that and we learned," he continued. "Because we did [make] mistakes in PS3 time and we've learned and we've listened. So we've taken a different approach and now we're getting possibly different feedback."
I had a very similar issue starting the system up this morning, except it did not say anything about inserting the USB key. It just loaded the blue wave desktop wallpaper, displayed the notification thingy about gamepad battery life, and 'hung' there. Had to power down the system by holding down the power button, and go through the whole fsck screen when booting up again.
Went through this twice. Third time I pulled the ethernet cable before powering up and that fixed the problem, although the external storage manager was not happy with the hard shutdown and was slower than usual in bringing up external storage (the HDD icon kept flashing on the UI).
I'm assuming there was some network or disc issue because it then refused to download the new system update (threw some error that is not even listed on the support site). Only upon rebooting a fourth time did it finally download the update, and only upon installing that did the console return to some semblance of its typical boot performance.
So, at least for me, this was really an *instability update*.
Do you think we're the reason they don't say "stability" anymore?
Why would downloading at the same time cause the system to overheat?
