People are completely misunderstanding what they are seeing in this video, it seems. I posted this pages ago but it's worth posting again:
THIS IS THE MAIN HOME SCREEN:
When you press 'up' on your controller from that screen, you are taken to the XMB shown in the video.
So, again, BOTH the sort of tile-based new interface and the old XMB are present in the UI.

And also, if you press overview on each game's screen, you're prevented with the full game screen, where you get the nice background wallpaper and all kinds of info:

If your on plus (which everyone will be with PS4) you can set when the system turns on/off to sync that days trophies you collected so you wont have to wait so long to sync anymore.It changes your life.

UI looks good. Only thing I'm concerned about is having all of the games just tiling next to one another. There had better be a way to utilize a library or something of that sort, categorized by Genre, alphabetized, etc.
Also, I've been on the internet long enough to know that Tiduz is likely a fraud, so I'm not putting any credence in what he/she is posting in here.

Ehhh...I hold my controller in varied positions while playing. I am not worried about the light bar (and I bet by the time I get a PS4 there will be an option to turn it off).
Eh, I saw that tweet, problem is I tend to hold the controller at an angle that would point the LED directly at the screen. I doubt I'll have problems with reflection as I don't have a shiny TV and I don't sit close to it, but I'm pretty sure people are still going to have issues with it.
I TRIED to make this clear in my post a few pages back but nobody here apparently reads.

EmptySpace is not affected. his tv is at eye level and and no one holds their controllers up or point them to the screen like they would a remote control.

But then again, I don't have much faith in Sony's GUI designs, so maybe them not breaking what doesn't need fixing was the best course.

Ya I think that had a lot to do with Sony shoe-horning in trophies early in the life-cycle and never accounted for it. They will be instant when you bring up a profile like on XBL.
