Hl2 leak was legit...
very unfinished early alpha, lots of greyboxing, have to load maps through the console, no AI, pretty much no scripting.
Was fun to mess with the physics though.
People are still falling for that sort of thing... Wow. Quite "impressive" how rash and totally not cautious people can be on the internet.
You're comparing a linear FPS from 2004 to an open-world game from 2013... And in that case, the game had already been confirmed, whereas the PC version of GTA V has yet to be (though its existence leaves no doubt anymore).
I'm not quite sure you're getting the point.
Before anything was released to the public, word started to get around that somebody had obtained the HL2 source code. Speculation at the time was that mygot was somehow involved.
Shortly afterwards, a torrent was posted, weighing in at 15GB, with over 100,000 leechers. This torrent contained nothing but gay porn. The pre-compiled build (1.3~GB) and the source (100~MB) were released a few days later.
Therefore, this "PC Version" reminded me of this scenario. People downloaded a 15GB torrent, in 2003? (When broadband standard speed was 512Kbps) not containing what was advertised.
