PSN/PS+ server issues

PS Store also needs a serious update. Especially on Vita. It's really confusing to navigate and 'Download' section is horrible to go through.

A wired connection is what you should be using, see if that helps. I haven't noticed any problems but I've just been olaying Mordor. My internet is really shitty anyway so it's hard to chalk up the problems to Sony on my end.

That said the service could rely use a nice upgrade. I haven't had a time where I wanted to play MP but couldn't but once I do then we have a problem.

Sony should develop a game for Xbox One, ask for MS to send engineers to get parity, then trick them into also working in their backend. A foolproof plan.
 
They should seriously use the PS+ money to get more/better servers. Cut Grace Chen's paycheck if you must but do something!!!!!
 
I hope their engineers are looking at ways to revamp or introduce a 'PSN 2.0'. I believe they are very aware of the problems caused by the current infrastructure.
 
This morning I got booted from a chat party TWICE.

Even in FF14, on the login screen there's a message that basically says "PSN has been flaky & shitty. Please understand."
 
I haven't noticed anything different. But I'm on ps3. I don't know if that means ps3 has always been bad or that the ps3 is just better than the ps4 at this stuff.
 
A couple of days ago I couldn't sync my trophies, and it didn't even show me trophies for the game I was playing while checking.

I know I could probably solve this by disconnecting the console but I just cursed Sony and moved on.

Luckily I won't buy any other game until Christmas so I won't have to deal with this crap.

Tried to get my friend to DL his free games for the month (his first month as PS+ sub). PSN is undergoing maintenance!

Also, I was trying to help him navigate to the free games, I told him to go to the Playstation Plus section (near top of list). There it has Dust and Pix the Cat. If he presses on Dust it says for him to upgrade and there is no download option. Pix the Cat does have a download option. To get to Spelunky you have to go over to the right of pix the cat and press in on the PS+ advert. Spelunky is at the top but it says you need to upgrade to Plus.

It tells me I need to upgrade as well on Dust and Spelunky. But I already have both games because I did a manual search for them.

Also, regarding friends list slowness. This has plagued the PS4 for a while even when I had around 20-30 friends but it's absolutely horrendous once you start getting 50+. I had 90 last night and the friends list may as have not been active. I hopped on the app and deleted basically everyone. Now my friends list is not so bad right now.
 
Even after turning the system on from a cold boot, the friends list will sometimes not load properly. My girlfriend who just bought a PS4 last week had her friends list not load on the second time she turned it on for use.

I'm hoping the next firmware update and or the maintenance on Monday will help fix some of these issue because it's pretty embarrassing at the moment.
 
So I have just bought a PS4 and I seem to be having this issue again? Telling me my password is incorrect. I again can't reset my password as it's telling me my DOB is incorrect. I've tried accessing my account details on my Vita and on the web, and again it's saying the same thing.

Anyone else? Help!
 
Tried to play DC online just right now and the servers are still down. Ok i wanted to give Sony a chance here but the game came last Tuesday, it's been more than 4 days and the servers are still not up.

My PS+ sub finishes late next year, if PSN still has those problems on a regular basis until then, i'm out ! The PS4 like PS3 will be my exclusives console again and Xbox One for multiplayer and all the rest which is a big part of my gaming. Don't wanna give my money to a company that is incompetent in the field.

I can't believe Sony can't run a proper service that we pay for on a brand new system. I thought those issues would be solved with the PS4 but it seems like the service still has stability problems.
 
Messages take hours to come through, notifications repeat ten times in a row (your friend has entered a chat room x10). Shit is wacked.
 
You guys must be on your machines ALL the time. Because I am on it every now and then and experience no real issues. Maybe a delay in content being added to PS plus? Thats ..that it.
 
I've never had problems with syncing trophies or accessing the store. Also, downloads are insanely fast for me. PS3 is ancient in download speed compared to the PS4. The problems I have had are:

The players met feature never working for me. I heard someone say it was up to the developer to implement that feature for their game. Don't know if that's true though.

Taking a while to send a message. I've had it sit there sometimes for close to a minute before it sends. Other times it works fine.

Anytime I delete old messages or notifications, the next time I log back on, they're still there, saying new like I never checked them and deleted them.
 
Messages won't load, UI gets messed up when I press down while a game is highlighted (I get that maintenance message) and restoring licenses results an error instantly. I'm really starting to miss the good old days with my lastgen buddies Xbox 360 and Microsoft...
 
wonder if nat type plays a factor. i remember on my old router where it wasn't doing upnp correctly...ports weren't being opened up and i'd have issues with party chat and joining friends games. ended up having to manually opening ports.

Just cold booted Ps4, Ethernet connected BT Optical fibre 75 MB...

And it takes 10 minutes to bring up the whats new item on the dashboard.

The servers are struggling. Full stop.

No, don't think so. But I bet that's what the standard fob off is.
 
I received a message, after adding several GAF members to my friends list that I have accessed their server too much and that I had to wait a while. I lost PSN connection for over an hour.

Same thing to me happened when trying to download PS+ games. Had to go to desktop PSN store to buy them there then get them off my PS4 donwload list.
 
while we all know Sony needs to get their head out of their ass, where the hell is the gaming press on this? why aren't they using their connections in the industry to press Sony on this issue?
 
I honestly feel it's time that Sony start having some real data on the current status of PSN the Network notification system is a joke. It always says PSN is online. It's not even the holiday's and PSN is buckling.
 
Folks, last week I could not download large files like Shadow of Mordor and Destiny would not recognise that I have PS Plus - Destiny often threw an error "Use of user generated media is not allowed for your account". I found this post on the EU PS community forum by viper555 that solved it;

"Is your Internet provider UPC? This seems to be an issue for people on UPC. You can fix it by going into PS4 network settings and then set up Internet connection. Go to custom and in the DNS settings set it to use Google's public DNS 8.8.8.4 and secondary 8.8.8.8 I was able to log in then."

Try this if your in the EU - it worked for me.

It turns out that my ISP (UPC) had changed security settings to block file sharing sites (or something).

why not use web store front? I use that all the time, no need to mess with my PS3. Just hop on and click click few times, it is super fast and easy:
