I sure am enjoying my Xbox Live™ Gold experience since purchasing a new 12-month subscription a scant two days ago!

I've been playing the Gears of War 3 beta online, activating my suit powers in Crysis 2 team play, reintroducing myself to wookies in Bad Company 2 and dipping into some GTA: TLAD multiplayer as well. So many nice folks out there in online land!

Add to that the ability to use Facebook, Netflix and other great features only available to Xbox Live™ Gold members, it's a no-brainer! I recommend that you and your friends purchase an Xbox Live™ Gold subscription today! I'm glad I did!

If they want to redesign PSN, I'd be perfectly happy with the Qriocity layout. I tried it out during its first free month on the ps3 and really enjoyed the look of it. It was incredibly fast as well unlike xmb.

XMB isn't fast? I've never had the XMB be anything but fast.

What region are you in?

On my US account, I cannot see the individual costume packs for vanilla SFIV because I bought the bundle. I cannot see the bundle for the SSF4 super complete costume pack because Amazon gave me the classic super costume pack for free and I redeemed it.

I pursued this enough to be in contact with representatives from Sony corporate and was offered a partial refund/credit eventually, but their initial solution to allow me to buy the SSF4 super complete costume pack (which I could find through search even though I could not see it while browsing normally) was to revoke the "license" granted to me through the Amazon preorder code, allowing the super complete pack to show up for purchase (this didn't work, however, because they apparently couldn't revoke licenses granted through redeemed codes, only from PSN purchases paid for through the account's PSN wallet).
US Region. Hm. That sounds odd.

Not when you switch from one column to the next. If i'm just in the xmb sure after its all loaded it can be fine. But if I was just in a game and want to then back out and go to my music section it can take time to load up my media servers, load up all the icons.

From in game it takes a long time to load and switch columns, you get that white spinning arrow or whatever.

Just before psn went down (this one could be related to the attacks though) the playstation store would hiccup after a while. If I just checked a section for say move demos, the moment i went to check the next game on the list it would hang for about 1 to 3 seconds.

PSN is just fine for me, no big deal but it could be a little snappier and fluid.

These ba$tards didn't just fu(k Sony, they just fu(ked the whole industry with this crap. I hope to god they can find these bastards and make them walking cum dumpters for many years in jail... the frail basment dwellers will become the hit of the party in big boy jail...

I was thinking the exact same thing on that one. And am I the only one who doesn't feel the store is hard to navigate?
I liked better how it was before when they had everything new listed under "latest". Now they changed (at least in the European PS Store i use) it so that we have to check "demo" for new demos, "PSN games" for new PSN games etc.

I only visit the PS Store a few times a week, and it only takes like a few second longer to check the content now, so it isnt really compain worthy for me personally, but i still liked it better when they had all the stuff under "latest" :)

The US store still has everything under "latest". I wonder why they would change it on the EU store?

Sony's stock price has nothing to do with their profits. The stock price just says how much the company is actually worth. You'd basically now need 2.01 Billion US Dollars less to "buy" Sony.

This whole thing probably affects Sony's profits as well, but while Sony's actual profits influence their stock prices (a company that's making a lot of money is worth more than a company that isn't) you can't say that Sony lost profits just because their stock price dropped.Yes, now would be a time to buy. I'd wait a bit longer as we don't know if we already have all the bad news. Buying stock when there's bad news about a company is good. Sell it when there's good things to say about it. In the case of Sony you can expect there to be good news in the future...

Ah, thanks for explaining. I'm not much of a money guy, but I appreciate the explanation. Sorry for the alarmist post, haha

I hope before the 31st we will get an article about them finding the hackers and them being arrested. You guys broke the law, the FBI is fast on your trail. I hope you rot in prison.

I don't mind if online play and the PSN store are restored towards the end of the month, but I just want to hear it from Sony's mouth, not just rumors.

I'm not sure. I noticed this change maybe 5-7 weeks ago, so it happened fairly recently. In one way it is easier to find more specific content (if you want only to look for i.e demos), so maybe this has something to do with it. But i still like to see everything listed as one just to see if there is anything i'm interested in that i might not have known about was coming to the store =)

That's how I feel. This downtime is giving me a chance to catch up on my Resonance of Fate anyways, so I'm not hurting too badly.

bad information from bloomberg: sony hasn't said it will take until may 31 to fix psn. there is no new info on when service will be back. sony us says the bloomberg was inaccurate, just taking info from what kaz said a wk ago about getting back up in may.

Can you add the title specific info to the first post (update 1, 2, 3, ....style)? I don't know what the hell does the various titles really mean, what are the sources and when are they posted. Makes it difficult to follow the thread.

Edit: and a small request: stop Using Unnecessarily Big Starting Letters for Titles Just Because. It is strange.

I think that Cornbread78 was joking hope he comes back soon.

Its difficult to follow because several websites are reporting lies, misquotes, rumors, etc as facts.

No, because it's not a Sony-published story and it isn't news worthy. This is known information from last week

Then why quote if they are rumours? GAF does not need that kind of shit posted as titles when tey are rumours.

You are giving some terrible advice here, basically telling people to try and time the market. That's just gambling, not investing at all.

For the vast majority of the population stock buying should be a long term approach and those that are profitable short term traders do not trade based on the news about a company, they trade anticipating news by projecting future prospects for the company.

Unless of course you have done some analysis and can give us an estimate on the cost of this fiasco and how future earnings will be affected.

What's wrong with the Bloomberg story? They spoke to a Sony spokesperson, who said they didn't know when PSN would be back up and reconfirmed that everything would be back by end of this month. Not sure how that's "inaccurate."

If other people are misinterpreting the story, that's another thing entirely.

PSN fully up by 31st is just another pretty way of saying PSN Store and Qriocity is scheduled to go up later this month, which was announced at the press conference last week

Again, no new news. The only real news really is that the guy doesn't have a clue when PSN is going up, which we already kinda know lol

This started happening after a firmware update. Probably one of those that freed some more memory for games, it's a pain... but understandable. Luckily I already memorized where everything is.

I do not recommend anyone to buy anything and I don't think anyone thought I was giving any kind of professional advice. I was just explaining what could potentionally influence stock prices. Good news / bad news definitely do.

I'm sure am enjoying my Steam® PC experience since I don't even have to buy subscriptions to online services or space dollars to buy my games or DLC!

I've been playing Crysis, The Witcher in preparation to TW2, and even playing some games that I bought on recent weekly sales at peanut prices like Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and Medal of Honor! And all of them at the highest resolutions possible, and with all the graphical bells and whistles turned on!

Add to that the ability to post screenshots, and gameplay videos online. Manage my Steam® PC friends and chat with them. All of this in a whole-package free of any additional charge! It's a complete steal. And I for a change am not the one being stolen.

Steam® PC the way games were meant to be played!

I'm just joking! Don't hurt me... Please.
