And some people think there has been a third attack? Unless I missed something there wasn't even a second attack.

I think some are considering the attacks on SOE as the 2nd wave.

I don't know the timeline on that attack so I could be completely wrong in terms of which attack was first and or second ( PSN or SOE).

Yeesh what a headache. All I want is to buy the freaking import games with my month of PS+.
Also I want to try the trials of St. Lucia in Dante's Inferno(hey whatever. I liked the game)

I liked Dante's too. You're not alone.

SOE was hacked when PSN was hacked in the "first wave". There is no second wave so far.

Sony never gave "deadlines" they gave windows but has always put emphasis on security concerns being the mitigating factor (that means there has never been any deadlines).

Yeah well the end of the window is the closest you can be to a deadline. If they plan to release something "within the month", then you can consider the end of the month as a deadline, since if they miss their window, then they miss their timed target.
Security may be their first concern (as it should be), it doesn't mean they don't need to aim at a release date.

Yep, and there were rumors that there was suppose to be another attack over the weekend, but that obviously didn't happen, because PSN wasn't up during the weekend.

I've enjoyed having a forced break from PSN recently. The stress of having a bigger collection of PSN games sitting in my backlog was killing me. I've managed to beat a few other games, and shorten that list. PLus, I've had fun going back to a few local MP games with my wife, as well as a few SP titles I enjoyed but figured I'd never be able to replay at the rate I was at. This felt like a gaming vacation for me.

May 31st will be happily welcomed, but I'm still chillin'.

Since I don't really play online much this hasn't affected me as badly as I imagined. But yesterday my PS+ "expired" so now I'm locked out of some of my games. :(

You should give Sony a ring when everything is back up. If you ARE locked out of your games and were planning on re-subbing (but didn't have it on auto-renew) I'm sure they'd be able to do something about it.

Portal 2 local co-op is really good as well. Much better than over the internet.
I can't understand why people want to play it over the internet anyway. Maybe once, but then after that what are you gonna do? Play the same puzzles over and over?

Who says they want to play it over and over? I only want to play it once, and I can't.

They wanna play with the entire screen. :)

There's actually some content that only happens if you're playing over the internet.

Looks like i'll be buying la noire for 360.
What an embarrassment for sony.
so a game in which there is zero multiplayer component, and the PSN outage has changed the system you buy it for???

DLC codes
but the DLC codes will be available eventually (end of the month?). On the 360, the exclusive PS3 case will never be available. Extremely short sighted, especially with an entire single player game to play before even looking the DLC cases.

DLC codes
Not a concern for me because I plan to wait for the other DLC to get online and play them all together, give me a reason to come back, but that's certainly a legitimate reason, one of the few games people might actually want to buy on PS3 over the 360 too, sucks for Sony.

I think people have had enough waiting.

in general? definitely agreed. For this game? Almost zero impact whatsoever, with the downside of losing the exclusive case and gaining two extra discs. You notice I don't say the same thing about those talking about Brink, etc. There is a time and place for being fed up with this shit. just that a single player-only game with exclusive content on one system and eventual restoration of the pre-order DLC to me wouldn't seem to be that time or place.

I gotta agree on this.

Sony plans to bring PlayStation Network matchmaking back online within the next couple of days, according to a trusted Eurogamer source.

When contacted for comment, SCE corporate communications director Patrick Seybold told Eurogamer, "We're working to get the network back on as soon as we can."

Meanwhile, a PlayStation Europe community manager has confirmed that Sony intends to get online gaming back up and running before other PSN services.

"Once again, 31st May is the date for FULL restoration of PSN services. Restoration is phased. Online gaming will return BEFORE May 31st," read a post on MusterBuster's Twitter feed earlier today.

Over the weekend, a Sony spokesperson warned that full PSN service might not return until 31st May.

FFFFFF. 10 of 10 trials in God of War, get my ass kicked because of a tiny little platform to fight on and the stupid cats can glitch out and throw you over the edge in two seconds even if you're defending and in the middle of the platform.

Fuck you Jaffe, fuck you. ;__________; All I want is the mana outfit so I can at least speedrun the game and have platinum. ARGH.

Anyone know what the UK trade-in value of a 120GB slim is these days? Game or Gamestation ideally.

CEX Offer £138 discount and £111 cash. Neither Game nor Gamestation do that sort of price - however Gamestation have a price match guarantee , so print out the cex webpage or get it on your mobile phone, show it to them and they'll beat it by £1.

Do the same. Only way to win it. That is by far the hardest of all the challenges in all games.

Funny, I also platinumed both in the GoW Collection during the PSN outage lol.

So he is short sighted because he's fed up with Sony?

I would trust that source, but everyone saying "up within a couple days" is a joke. Sony said it was going to be up within the week last week and then went on to say that it would be up soon after they missed that. Anyone could guess that it will be up within a couple days with the information we have that they are bringing the service up in bits until the 31st when it is fully up and running.

Anyone seen this yet: http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2011/05/09/anonymous-get-hacked/

It appears that Anonymous have trouble in their ranks – not that they had ranks to begin with, in fact that’s the problem. The following has been posted on a hacking site:

‘We regret to inform you today that our network has been compromised by a former IRC-operator and fellow helper named “Ryan”. He decided that he didn’t like the leaderless command structure that AnonOps Network Admins use. So he organised a coup d’etat, with his “friends” at skidsr.us . Using the networks service bot “Zalgo” he scavenged the IP’s and passwords of all the network servers (including the hub) and then systematically aimed denial of service attacks at them.’

Sony was targeted by a DOS attack and now Anonymous’ own members have used the same tools to bring down their IRC network.

‘We are profoundly sorry for this drama, and we can’t give you a an estimate on when service will resume normally,’ said Sony Anonymous.

If it has been posted please don't flame me. lol.
