Na, it's gotta be something else because I traded in my Phat for a Slim when the disc's stopped reading and my activation worked fine. Maybe when I deactivated the account from my Phat it reset the first console activation or something?

Says as much on the playstation website. Says you can change the password on a system that has activated content on it before PSN went down. So those of you with dead systems before, as long as you were able to activate your account on the new ones before PSN went down, you're good to go.
