• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

PSN's 2,000 friend limit is now live!

I think I have four ;p

No reason besides playing all my online games on the 360 and having the best headset setup for it as well. That policy will change come Friday.

They really need to make groups. I still can't believe Nintendo is the only one to have stolen this idea from Steam.
I'm still shocked no one has fully ripped off Steam Community/SteamBook. It's leagues ahead of everything in the console space.

YES. FINALLY.

PSN: TeknomanEX

So far i've only got PS3 and Vita though. Probably waiting on PS4, but it would be nice if PSN showed all 3 systems regardless.

Tizoc789 is my PS3 account
Todoh789 is my Vita account
Feel free to add me, although I'll be a bit slow at replying to friend requests.

I have nowhere near 2000 friends!

Does anyone want to be friends? I suck, so you get to win all the time if that tempts you at all.

(Handle is the same if anyone genuinely wants to add. I play GTA5, TLoU and NFS:HP/The Run/MW on PSN.)

online notifications would be incredibly annoying with 2000 friends...anyway since we're using this thread for ID share here's mine "TheNastyChocobos" anyone feel free to add

So now this is a friend adding thread, huh. Add me too GAF, I need to fill dat 2000 limit. I need to. (PSN: Ninevolts)

I've quite enjoyed sitting at 100 friends for months now, because it's meant I haven't received friend requests from friends of friends that I don't even know lol

But I accept all regardless, so lets see how high I can go.

PS, my Friends App on the Vita won't work, keeps telling me to connect to PSN.

My friend list is getting larger by the hour from the GAF ID exchange thread. I can't wait to get social with the PS4's features.

That's weird, it worked for me and I just doubled check by recounting my list and sending another invite. I had to relog for the pending invite to appear, but I didn't get a notification that I had reached my limit.

Have you agreed to the new Terms of Service? Some people were having issues on Vita going over 100 without agreeing to the new terms, maybe it's similar on PS3.

Go here and try to sign in if you haven't agreed to them yet: https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/

That did the trick, thanks for the help.

Always looking to add more GAFers to my list. PSN ID: Tom-ocil

All I have on my list is GAFFERs, except for my nephew and son. Nobody else I know plays vidya games. Sucks being old sometimes. But hey at least I can afford any and everything I want now.

The whole filtering of online friends for PS3 isn't really working is it?

I added some new people and even though I have more then enough room of online friends to display, I can't find them.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.

So you now have 100+ PSN friends? If you have any outstanding friend requests sent or received, those are displayed first (up to 10 of each). Then your online friends should be displayed in alphabetical order. Then, if there's still room, your offline friends should be displayed in alphabetical order. Obviously, as soon as 100 people are displayed then no more people get displayed. It doesn't update once you're signed in either, to get an updated version you need to sign out and then sign in again.

Yay! Now I don't have to worry about filling it up. I was afraid all of the 10 or so of my friends would multiply.
(I only recently started using my PS3 really, oh well. One of the struggles of moving from Live to PSN.)

Anyone else having problem signing into the Vita friends app?

Accept the new terms of service on the SEN website and then it works again.

Someone mentioned a fix in the Vita thread (which worked for me). You need to sign into PSN or SEN online and agree to a new EULA and then you can sign in on your Vita again.

You have to agree to the new terms so its signing you out because of that.

Either sign in via the PSN option in the settings menu or go the the web store

both way should trigger the new terms for you to agree to.

Thanks... I was almost starting to freak out at not being able to sign in on my Vita...

Suprised it doesn't launch (or support launching) a message saying to login you must agree with the new terms...

That's just it. They're not appearing. It's only showing friends I had before passing the 100+ limit.

Any friends I added after the 100 limit are not showing up on my PS3 list.
