Quakecon 2007

their new game is a fast fps in their tradition not the racing thing they showed at the mac event that was just to show potential engine licensees that the engine is capable of much more than enclosed corridor shooters.

hope ggl fix the vod's 5fps + interlacing sucks and there gonna be some awesome games to come in the quad damage tourney.
 
id Tech 5 was shown at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference. I dunno why I keep saying Mac World.

Quake Wars competitive play with casting go on right now btw. It's pretty good. A little slow in the frames from the feed but good action.
 
Is GGL going to cover the keynote as well (live, i hope) or are they just focusing on the competition?
 
It looks like GGL is only VoD, so we won't see it until after. I'm going to join the quakecon irc, hopefully there's live updates.

God, steam is finally starting to kick ass, awesome that ID is supporting valve with that.

Hopefully that new IP won't be years off.

Trailer time! Incredibly detailed character models and environment, depth of field, camera following fly buzzing around, even fly is incredibly detailed. NPC addresses screen, good facial animation. Numerous driving scenes, looks sort of Motorstorm-esque.

Game title is Rage.
