I think where comedy is involved its the only place where racism is allowed, the only problem is this guy could not pull it off, only few people can.

What comedians normally do is say something racist then make fun of themselves to show that you can be the butt of the joke too. You also have to basically be racist to all or none. Got to be an equal opportunity racist to succeed in this comedy space.

It was racially insensitive, rude, and bad comedy. But I do not think it was racist. I think the confusion comes from the fact that most racist would do such things out of pure hate. But if you remove the negative history it seems much more harmless like people making fun of Irish, Scottish, Australian accents.
