Now this is the basic layout of a Nordic keyboard on PS4 (imagined by Sony):
What's missing are the ÖÄÅ keys which are hidden under L3 submenu:
This is fundamentally the same as hiding the e.g. A and R from the standard US keyboard under a submenu.
It makes everything slower to write because we use those letters a lot, So, I just skip the ÖÄÅ while writing which looks stupid but is faster. Now there is plenty of screen space to have them, but they are not there. Why?
The same thing is present even in the Playstation Vita. Under a stupid separate button and menu.
This is the PS Vita Japanese keyboard layout. I can write in romanji and it automatically translates them into hirakana or katana. It's faster for typing some characters such as a lowercase TSU and other double letter combos.
But, on the PS4 I am tied to using either hirakana only keyboard, or writing straight roman characters that don't offer that standard conversion of characters (basically making it a US keyboard).
I have to say that this is a very lazy approach for offering "customized" keyboard layouts for different countries. Putting all the non-US letters under a single menu is stupid, reeks of ignorance of the different ways to write and should be changed. This has already been like this for years. Change it already, please.
Who do I send this to? Who in the world would listen to me ranting about this?
EDIT: And as I didn't clearly read the OP, this ended up in a poll thread, but I'll leave it as is.
