By the way, I'll bet Saul Williams would give Aesop Rock a run for his money.
He's also a much much better lyricist than him (though it's not the fairest of comparisons).
p.s.
I would like to see a Brother Ali there too.
French rappers blow all of them out of the water.
Just pulled up some Saul Williams. Wtf GAF? This shit is unique.
French rappers blow all of them out of the water.
I'm shocked with disbelief.
He's there, between Shakespeare and Redman.
Yeah, I see your edit, but I really wanted to say "between Shakespeare and Redman" at least once in my life.
Thanks. Giving it a listen now.The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust is one of my favourite albums of all time, and I don't even like rap! He's just that good.
Yeah, I was thinking the same. Alphabet Aerobics and Chemical Calisthenics are practically cheating when it comes to making progress in this list!

Cool list, but having a good command of figurative language and raw emotion matters the most when it comes to making memorable lyrics.
Lil B is more diverse than Tupac.
Let that sink in for a moment.

No Deltron 3000 :|
I hope this is a way to mock people who cherry pick less verbose parts of newer rap songs as evidence that raps was a lot better 20 years ago.
I would guess there would be no correlation. Most of them had rough or humble beginnings, hell 2 of the best businessmen (50 Cent and Master P) on this list are below the 3600 mark. The Wu dudes had it rough and they ranked pretty high.Someone should do one that compares there education to these results.
Of course, just jokes.you cant compare a verse to a hook. thats not fair
No Deltron 3000 :|
Give the other motherfuckers a chance, fellas.including del would throw off the scale too much
Nobody else I can think of raps about chemistry and calculus. Alphabet Aerobiccs is certainly something else.
i wonder if any other genre would fare better
I wonder what the most common word in country music is.
Truck?
That's subjective and difficult to quantify.
Should have used Backseat Freestyle instead.
