Ratchet and Clank movie hitting in 2015

I'm sure they are involved quite a bit, even writing the script. I seriously doubt they will let one of their top ip franchises go out into the unknown, with the possibility of it crashing and burning.

It really is. Ratchet is a solid fucking choice. I see no reason for this to not succeed honestly. Gives me hope for a future Sonic full length CGI film, like that animated short made a few years back.

Excellent news. Hoping for a new game as well... But probably not one that ties in with the movie. I mean it's basically R&C 1it sounds like.
 
Cool.

Always thought the dialogue and humor in the R&C series was a perfect fit for a wide release animated movie. Hope it turns out well & does well.

yeah they are the rainmaker people now, some kind of buyout / indie / reform thing happened

but yeah beast wars / beasties is my favorite transformers franchise

they made shadow raiders to but that show didnt last long

Damn, i am really hyped for this.

Did anyone else find Ratchets lip kind of weird looking? Seems different to what it looks like in games, almost like ratchet has no lip lol.

Please please please do a tie in game. Next gen ratchet, do it Insomniac!
 
Finally, hope it turns out good and luckily Insomniac is involved and approves of the movie.
Should have happened earlier to push RnC's popularity and help the games.
If Sony doesn't get a real RnC out on PS4 and Vita around the movie release I don't know what went wrong.

Okay, now I am officially hyped. Didn't know it was the same guys. Loved the way they pulled off the humor in Reboot, and that was way back then, and they also showed that they handled adult themes well for a kids program in it too.
 
Out of nowhere!

IMO R&C always seemed made for a cartoon series more then a movie but whatever. I am interested in seeing how successful this will be.

Given Insomniac's thing for dumb sub titles yeah I think "Ratchet and Clank: The game of the movie of the game" is probably gonna happen.
 
BRING BACK OLD RATCHET!

I can't stand the new look of Ratchet; there's something so off about him. If Sony is going to put millions into this movie the least they could do is bring back the Ratchet people all love and recognize.
 
Sounds awesome. If any cartoonish video game series was going to get a theatre-release film, Ratchet & Clank was right up near the top of the list.
 
What's great about that it that it's a natural fit to be a movie that is just like the game, and not something else. Even visually. And it also shows that, just looking at this futuristic city, it can have a better artistic direction than some bigger movies recently.
 
Trailer looks good, and its being written by Insomniac, which is great.

I'm curious to know the story though - this is there first movie so will they be doing back story or just jumping right in and assuming the audience knows the characters?

I'm also hoping that this news means that Ratchet is here to stay, and we will get more games in the series (Though, hopefully more like Going Commando and less like the two recent entries. Actually, three - wasn't fond of ACiT either, despite how much GAF loves it).

Its a retelling of the first game.
 
After getting into Ratchet recently with the HD collection I have to say the idea of a Saturday morning TV series sounds perfect, and almost a missed opportunity during the PS2 era.

Looking forward to this though!
 
I'm pretty excited about this. I hope to God they don't screw it up. If it is successful, and done properly I don't see why it can't be, this could be the start of a new "genre" of film. Sorta like how the original Tim Burton Batman film in 1989 started the trend of so many comic book flicks being made and hitting the big screen. I see no reason why video game films, especially stuff like R&C, can't end up doing ok and being of pretty good quality. Like anything else, it depends on the writers/directors/animators, so we'll see.
 
One of my favorite gaming franchises....I for one will be there to see this on day one....Insomniac having a hands-on role in the films creation is just the icing on the cake....some about that PS4 R&C game.....Future 3?
 
Enjoyed the trailer. I'm assuming if this movie is successful it'll revive the game IP, too. Assuming one already isn't in the works -- which there probably is.

This has the potential to be something amazing!

I really hope it turns out great.

my only gripe with the trailer is that people who don't already know the characters, have no idea what's going on.
