Rate the Microsoft E3 Conference

The conference itself was alright, MUCH better than their previous "efforts".

But a 499 price point, very little gameplay shown (and looking average) and in the context of the DRM fiasco... It wasn't anywhere enough to be at least a little bit redeeming.
 
The most important thing about this conference is that it cements my purchase of the console. Definitely not at launch (499 lol), but somewhere along the cycle.
 
I'd give it a 5
for the Games.

They didn't touch up on any of the concerns..

MGS5 looked awesome,
but that'll come to Ps4 so..

Battlefield 4 looks great, but yeah..
Same deal.

Dead Rising 3 looked cool.

I feel sorry for the Battlefield prez dude.
poor fella.

Overall the prez was passable.
But the faults, the limited info on concerns, the price tag to boot. Just wasn't enough to justify moving Next Gen with them. Maybe down the track (depending of) when and if they can get their act together.

I would also have rated it 9/10, but that Kinect demo, and $500 price made me put the score at 7/10. It´s still amazing conference though.
 
No rpgs, no buy 4 me. Fuck teh shooter crap. KI is the only thing that interests me and sadly that is not enough for me to buy this 499$ console that you get to watch tv on your tv,pay 50$ memebership to play online, and a stalker kinect that watches everything you do. 1/5
 
I honestly have it rated at a 6.5. If the price was $399 I'd probably say 7.5 to 8

I wanted games. They had one of the most fast-paced and full-featured conferences I've seen from them in a LONG time. There were minor issues like the $500 but I expected those, what I didn't expect is for Microsoft to turn on the games faucet and never turn it off.

Also, Spark intrigued me more than any game at Microsofts conferences the past few years, can't wait to see more on it.

It didn't excite me personally (no Mirror's Edge 2), but it was a well put conference and squarely aimed at gamers. $499 was hard to swallow though. 3/5
 
They could have announced every 3rd party developer had signed on to exclusives with the Xbone and it still wouldn't matter.

Until they change their draconian DRM, there is nothing they can do to impress.

I thought it was okay, compared their previous attempts but I wasn't excited by any of their exclusives and the only thing that caught my eye was the Halo surprise, which still seems years away. Some major issues were avoided by I guess I don't blame Microsoft. Better than previous conferences but not better enough for me.

Eh. And that price sealed the deal. Might have done a 3/5 if not for the price.
 
Not enough footage of the games I wanted see and the price certainly didn't help. But the games they did show looked pretty good.

2/5 for me, Microsoft did nothing to excite me. D4, Crimson Dragon & Killer Instinct were cool, but those are all titles that aren't must haves. The only compelling part was Metal Gear Solid 5 at the beginning and that's not even an exclusive.

Not for me, but for the core 360 audience it was a very good showing: Twitch.tv, Forza 5, Battlefield 4, TitanFall. Below might be my Game of the Show and, unlike PS4's big indie "exclusive," The Witness, it's actually exclusive, and I'll have to purchase the platform if I want to play it. The Metal Gear Solid V and The Witcher 3 trailers were very good, with lots of actual game. Killer Instinct 3 looked pretty stupid, and the awkward rape innuendo smack talk was... yeah. Oy. And the console's absurdly pricey. They did better than I thought they would and, unlike Sony, they've shown games I'm interested in for their next-gen console. I could shit all over it because it's not my jam but it was honestly a good show.
 
Was pretty decent. Had some games that excited me. But a few of those are not exclusive and the rest are not enough to make me pay $500 nor forget about the issues.

At least they stayed with only showing games
 
3/5 from me. While I'm mainly a Playstation/PC guy and probably won't buy the Xone I still think they put on a good show.
 
Solid show. Only two fails were killing instinct , which looked like total garbage , and the price point. Everything else was very good ... Except for that insomniac game. Wasn't really feeling it .
 
I honestly expected MS to deliver a Sony '06/Nintendo '08 level conference. This was way better than those, but still not enough to convince me to pick up an Xbone. 3/5

as good as you could expect at this point in time. bang bang shooters that looked boring and games that are standard now. But nothing was really bad or embarrassing and 1-2 games looked neat.
 
Pretty uninspiring. 2/5.

None of the exclusives excited me, and the random order in which things were presented I felt didn't do the smaller titles any favour.

Lots of niggling negative points throughout the presentation would have dragged it down even lower if not for some of the multi-platform titles looking exceptionally good.
 
They would have hit 3 for me but for that price announcement. I get that the price isn't really a part of the conference's structure, but you could practically hear a pin drop when he was saying that price. I agree with the sentiment that a lot of the games looked the same, and honestly, even in the videos that I didn't see gameplay for, I was expecting by the setup to see a similar shooter.

The price is simply too high, and though there were cool exclusives (KILLER INSTINCT, Crimson, Insomniac's exclusive etc), price is a deal breaker for me. The games were certainly there (or at least shown/revealed in some form), but just nothing enough to wash away the bad stench of the policies behind the machine.
 
They showed games and almost no mention of Kinect. That being said $499 wasn't a very good choice. I'm not getting a XBone, but I enjoyed what I watched.

Unfortunately for Microsoft it served more to get me excited for nextgen as a whole and did little to convince to get an xbone. Thought Dead Rising looked great though.
 
It was alright. They, unsurprisingly, didn't address any of the controversy surrounding the console. Why would you during a conference you wanted to be positive. Mentioning the price at all was very surprising, however.

For the most part, the games didn't get me all that excited. It was nice seeing another small snippet from Dark Souls 2, but I'll get that for PC or PS4. Ryse has an interesting concept, but the huge amount of QTEs actually turned me way off. Titanfall looked cool.

Had a good laugh at the whole 'We have tons of indies coming, TONS', *Show Minecraft, move on.*

It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, it was kinda forgettable.
 
What an overabundance of shooters! I was really tired of them by the time they showed Titanfall. I was more interested in the titles that represented a change of pace. But any interest is theoretical because the XBox one is still sounding TERRIBLE overall. $500 + tenuous ownership of games + XBox live paywall? Yuck! The conference itself was average (5/10) and a huge improvement over Tv, TV, TV, but the console is still a tough sell IMO.
 
Ryse and Crimson Dragon were looking great. Gameplay of the former not that exciting and not existing on the latter, though. And the MGS5 trailer was of course delightful. I have to catch up on the MGS series. The Halo CG trailer also looked great despite carrying no information. All other stuff was not that interesting. BF4 and Titanfall (with that Jetpack) could be promising gameplay wise. I rated it 3/5. Not much Kinect was a plus.

Still there's no force in the world making me buy that thing.
 
Good conference. There were lots of video games, a couple surprises, and not many cringe-worthy moments or presenters (aside from the live demo issues). They were wise to downplay Kinect, and the Twitch partnership is a big deal. Didn't sell me on an Xbox One at launch for $500, but it could have gone much worse.
 
I'll give them a 3. Insomniac's game and Quantum Break looked decent. Nothing else particularly exciting. DRM policies hanging over it went unaddressed, and price is far too high.
 
The fact that they stayed away from wasting air time with Kinect made it their best conference in years, but otherwise nothing spectacular. That price is going to hurt though.
