2. If you upgraded from the original DS was it worth it?
3. Is the D-Pad better for the 2D Mario GBA games (I didnt think the originals controls were as good as using a controller pad)?
The D-pad is more like the GBA Micro dpad. Its better definately. All of the buttons are small, but your fingers impress on them much more comfortably imo.
The biggest thing about this DS is obviously the HUGE light difference... but then there's the larger, more comfortable stylus that slots in the side... the smaller size and slightly lighter weight that makes it feel more comfortable to hold. Better microphone placement. Better power button. GBA slot cover.
I imported this and I was going to keep my old DS, but after a week with this thing I just didn't want the old one anymore. Trading up was worth it.

I've decided to go pick one up this week, but need some advice on the "can't miss" titles
I would but, lazy bastard that I am, I don't feel like searching.GreenGlowingGoo said:Wow! conjecture! everybody's different! but here are ones you're sure to see multiple times!
Phoenix Wright
Castlevania
Mario Kart
Animal Crossing
Ouendan
Advance Wars: DS
Meteos
New Super Mario Brothers
actually, just go read one of the 60 other "what ds games should i get" threads
Yeah, I second that. They installed by fitting underneath the border around the bottom screen, like the glass in a picture frame.DarthWufei said:Has anyone found out if NuShield screen protectors work with DS Lites?
Crisis said:I haven't heard anyone give impressions on the DS Lite outside during the day. Maybe NeoGAFers don't get outside so much, but for those who do, how is the DS Lite on the outside? A comparison to like, a mobile phone or PSP screen would do nicely.

But the protuding cart is also useful when holding the DSL with one hand. It's a nice little thumb grip.demi said:Reasons not to upgrade to a DS Lite:

It'll just appear as "no DS card inserted".

I have to say though that it made me smile a bit when I had to blow into the slot to get New Super Mario Bros to work.

if so how long is the initial charge and can you play while its charging?
demi said:Generally you're supposed to charge it when you first buy it, it usually isn't long.
Yes, you can play it while charging. Just keep it plugged in when you're done.

They are making a sequel for NA with new songs and events, it's called Elite Beat Agents.6.8 said:Is Ouendan coming to NA at all? The game interests me, but I don't want to import if I don't have to.
