Lol yeah, just realized that was the case.*cough* Slayveen borrow me his keyboard.
Sadly my English broke, I meant opposite of what I wrote, that Halo 5 looked better.

No biggie.

You are still making assumptions on what the world will be like since we have only seen limited gameplay. And for me I don't think it looked that bad, especially while watching it in 4k. But unlike you I don't have a weird axe to grind with MS.Again, going by 343, who themselves stated it isn't open-world.
Don't blame me for using their words.
Besides, we've seen gameplay footage of Halo already. Being "openworld" doesn't make it less bad.
By that same logic, it goes the other way round as well. You are still making assumptions on what the world will be like since we have only seen limited gameplay. And for me I don't think it looked that bad, especially while watching it in 4k. But unlike you I don't have a weird axe to grind with MS.
So overall, it looks bad.And for me I don't think it looked that bad
You're grasping at straws. I'm not making assumptions because I've seen 8 minutes of gameplay of a game that is bigger than the previous two. Are there better looking games, sure. Are there worse, yup. Are there better looking games that suck? 100%. I just think the entertainment value of a game is the sum of its parts. I could find screenshots of Ghost of Tsushima that look terrible and gameplay that looks bland.. but the game is stellar none the less. You see what you want to see.By that same logic, it goes the other way round as well.
And you don't think it looked "that" bad, which indicates that you know it looks bad.
Then why complain about people pointing out the flaws?
Don't you have a bridge you should be hiding under? So overall, it looks bad.
Too bad you're not a virologist. Imagine, if you were able to spend as much time working on a CoVid cure as you do trying to tear down anything xbox, we'd have had a cure months ago. I mean it is amazing.. you can't go into any xbox relates thread without you being there eventually shitting it up. It's just sad..
Nobody says there aren't worse looking games. You're grasping at straws. I'm not making assumptions because I've seen 8 minutes of gameplay of a game that is bigger than the previous two. I don't have an issue with people pointing out its flaws, but lets be honest here. If the game looked stellar you'd find something else to try tear it down. Your agenda is well established.
Im under it as we speak. Looking pretty drab down here. Wish i had a RT patch to get some light in.Don't you have a bridge you should be hiding under?
It's not like the Xbox One has been doing fantastically well in the sales department. What Microsoft REALLY needed for next gen was a reset back to zero. Forget the Xbox One, it was a massive failure. Sure let all the XBO games be playable on the new console, but no more new first party releases on the thing for gods sakes.
Instead of going with a reset with Xbox Series X and starting off fresh with an exclusive Halo Infinite build from the ground up for Series X, they are coming out with an Xbox One title that is supported by Xbox Series X. And will get upgraded as time goes on but I have to wonder if the game will even be a huge seller for Microsoft with what they've shown now.
So basically my opinion is that they should just scrap the Xbox Version, don't even release it for Xbox One, just make it exclusive for XBSX and tighten up the graphics to lvl 20.
I think that's what many people were expecting, a new fresh Halo built from the ground up for a next gen platform. Alas.
The Xbox One is holding back sales of the XSX because Halo Infinite isn't the graphical powerhouse it should be to wow the average consumer and sell the Series X.Xbox one isn't really holding back anything though. Look at the million games that look way better then the Xbox version on PC. The narrative doesn't make sense. Also all 3rd party games have the choice. They get to make for both or for only series x. Obviously there are ideas that can't come to life on the one but can on the series x, but Halo looking bad isn't one of them. It's either bad engine, Dev hell, something else. The game looks bad for a Xbox one game.
This is going to be MS' biggest problem. They won't be able to "pull a PS3".The Xbox One is holding back sales of the XSX because Halo Infinite isn't the graphical powerhouse it should be to wow the average consumer and sell the Series X.
You know some people don't care about Halo. The Xbox One is holding back sales of the XSX because Halo Infinite isn't the graphical powerhouse it should be to wow the average consumer and sell the Series X.
Mgs5 cross gen game but probably the best playing/controlling TPS of all timeSeriously, when people decided that "last gen consoles are holding off evolution" stuff? Have people never saw that the worst versions by far are actually the last gen ones?
Rarely you get competent stuff like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Metal Gear V, are these games then ugly for the current gen because they were well ported to previous ones?
The problem with Halo Infinite relies entirely with 343i, how come that they managed to deliver something visually worse than Halo 4 or 5?
I still just don't understand the plan behind the idea that, at the birth of a brand new entire generation of gaming you wouldn't make the best, most utterly gorgeous and realistic game you possibly could out of your number 1 signature and flagship franchise to just show off the console for everyone to actually want to go out and buy. This is going to be MS' biggest problem. They won't be able to "pull a PS3".
And then for some people, neither does changing platforms. Why go from PlayStation when you're guaranteed exclusive games, if you're not into the best looking COD, Fifa or Madden? You know some people don't care about Halo.
If the sports games and cod look better then ps5 then Halo doesn't matter. Those are the best selling games on ps or Xbox every year for 20 years now.
They have to.I still just don't understand the plan behind the idea that, at the birth of a brand new entire generation of gaming you wouldn't make the best, most utterly gorgeous and realistic game you possibly could out of your number 1 signature and flagship franchise to just show off the console for everyone to actually want to go out and buy.
This game should have been nowhere near an Xbox One from concept through to design.
Or is next generation machine selling exclusive game a stupid idea that I think is good? Is Papa Phil really playing 5D chess with me? Is spending 100's of millions of dollars on console R&D to produce the World's most powerful console of titanic 12TF's proportions just a weird flex of that Microsoft money because Game Pass is actual secret sauce?
You realize what best selling means right? And then for some people, neither does changing platforms. Why go from PlayStation when you're guaranteed exclusive games, if you're not into the best looking COD, Fifa or Madden?
Best selling games... Which would be on ALL platforms including PC, no?You realize what best selling means right?
Pretty plain as day saying Halo success isn't the be all end all of Xbox.Best selling games... Which would be on ALL platforms including PC, no?
Lol.. thats funny.. bravoIm under it as we speak. Looking pretty drab down here. Wish i had a RT patch to get some light in.
I'm not sure what your mental gymnastics are currently but if you let me know your variables, I might be able to help you find a fucking clue.Pretty plain as day saying Halo success isn't the be all end all of Xbox.
The reading comprehension on this forum is trash.
No gymnastics. No hidden meaning. The 2 sentences I wrote is actually exactly what I meant. Also no some people don't like PC. It's the reason consoles still exist. It's lazy no effort gaming from your couch in a room that already had a tv in it. And again no. Most people buy an Xbox for the same reason they but a ps or a Maytag dishwasher or a Samsung tv. It's what they grew up with or their parents had or just the first one they bought themselves and it worked good. All the other reasons is just war garbage on shitty forums by dumb people.I'm not sure what your mental gymnastics are currently but if you let me know your variables, I might be able to help you find a fucking clue.
So you're saying because 3rd party franchises are the best selling games in the world, so Halo doesn't matter and is obsolete as a gaming IP, as people will buy the XSX for COD and Fortnite and Fifa, even though the PC exists and anyone that actually ever wants to play the best version of that game has a gaming PC anyway and actually plays COD and Fortnite etc on PC? Am I correct in your thinking?
I get brand recognition and people built in. I understand the Fanboys and the stupid console war. What I am genuinely asking is what is the plan to get in the casual/neutral/on the fence gamer if it isn't exclusives anymore? No gymnastics. No hidden meaning. I think most buyers will be just brand loyalists. New buyers will be friends of brand loyalists and yes people who want to play console best looking sports game. I think ps will outsell Xbox by a margin. I think 360 only sold well because PS3 was garbage for the price and most people only bought it for the BluRay player. I think exclusive sales show they are not a driving factor for system sales.I get brand recognition and people built in. I understand the Fanboys and the stupid console war. If your flagship IP isn't that important, are you genuinely hoping that new people purchase the XSX over PS5 or return to MS because it'll have the slightly better looking 3rd party games?
And do you think there's enough of a percentage of those former Xboxers leaving PlayStation to return back to Xbox and give up all the exclusive games of the last 7 years?
Cool. Thank you for the your honest reply. And as for me, as a gamer of over 30 years, I and many others will always say 'Games are king'I think most buyers will be just brand loyalists. Haha this is the post you’re going around telling people you “schooled” me with? You really have no idea how gaming engines work, do you.
No. It was my other postHaha this is the post you’re going around telling people you “schooled” me with?
Game engines don’t just magically scale with new hardware. Why doesn’t every 360 game run at 4K on the One X?
How is that relevant? Gran Turismo 6 came out *after* the PS4 did and it didn’t just work on the PS4.No. It was my other post
The one where I stated that you don't need a finalised console to begin developing a game.
Vast majority of people don't have gaming PCs. Plus new consoles would be a better bargain than building one. I spent over $600 on my 2080 alone last year.I'm not sure what your mental gymnastics are currently but if you let me know your variables, I might be able to help you find a fucking clue.

I'm not arguing that Halo Infinite was developed for the Xbox One. But literally more the point that you just need specs to code for then porting and optimization happens. How is that relevant? Gran Turismo 6 came out *after* the PS4 did and it didn’t just work on the PS4.
Halo Infinite was developed as an Xbox One game, end of story. The fact that they’re going to patch it after release to add ray tracing is proof of this.
You have no idea what you’re talking about.
But 720p and 900p vs 900p and 1080p was a pretty significant difference. I think both machines will struggle with Native 4K.Vast majority of people don't have gaming PCs. Plus new consoles would be a better bargain than building one. I spent over $600 on my 2080 alone last year.
I would also argue that many people jumped ship from the 360 to the PS4 because of better performing 3rd party games. The beginning of last generation this was a common theme by many. So yes that can be a major factor especially in the beginning of a generation when exclusives are elusive.
And for Halo not mattering... It's one game and I seriously doubt its launch will be even remotely disasterous. If HI is indeed a GAAS modeled game than getting the largest portion of your user base (one-x) invested in it will help give it legs in the long run. If it flops then something else will take its place.... But lets be real.. its not going to flop.
60fps vs <60 fps could be a deciding factor too. I play almost all my games on my one-X and only exclusives on my PS4 Pro. If Madden or FIFA play better on one vs the other it could pull players over. But 720p and 900p vs 900p and 1080p was a pretty significant difference. I think both machines will struggle with Native 4K.
You could say they just have a lot of loyal customers, also honestly they have very little competition in the style of games they make. For most Sony/ms exclusive you have a similar game that's also quite good on the same system.Cool. Thank you for the your honest reply. And as for me, as a gamer of over 30 years, I and many others will always say 'Games are king'
And Nintendo are the literally the model that says exclusive games are system sellers. That's their whole identity.
Same as you. Had most of those games consoles too. Though my first go at gaming was an Atari ST.You could say they just have a lot of loyal customers, also honestly they have very little competition in the style of games they make. Side note. Gaming for 34 years. Uncle gave us his intellivision in 1986. Had NES, Sega, SNES, Genesis, Turbo, N64, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, GameCube, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox one, Wii, WiiU, gameboy, color, 3ds new 3ds, Vita, and PC gaming since 1997.
I love games. I only have time for maybe 3 or 4 single player games as I usually spend my gaming time playing PC with my kids. I'm just tired of the very obvious bias in open forums and it seems like you aren't a loud to like Xbox anywhere. There has to be a what is your hidden agenda question every time. Sometimes people mean only what they are saying.
Haha I'm lucky my kids are 16 and 13 so we play divinity 2, apex, tf2, Gmod, csgo, Diablo, we even do the co op Skyrim mod.Same as you. Had most of those games consoles too. Though my first go at gaming was an Atari ST.
And as a dad myself with limited time to game in the single players games, it's hard to see Xbox as the machine to give me those experiences compared to Sony and their output when the kids finally get off playing fucking Fortnite or Minecraft when there isn't any single player experiences.
I've been lucky enough to do some Diablo 3 and Overwatch with the 10 year old. But the 4 and 8 year old's...Haha I'm lucky my kids are 16 and 13 so we play divinity 2, apex, tf2, Gmod, csgo, Diablo, we even do the co op Skyrim mod.
I also don't think Xbox will pull away loyal ps customers either but I bet you most PS4 owners don't own more then 1 exclusive and I don't think exclusives in genres with 20 other popular games matter all that much anymore. Xbox would not exist if it wasn't profiting or expected to. 50 mil ain't 100 but it's not 5 either. I just don't think Halo looking like shit matters.
Just need specs to code for? They didn't know the specs of the XSX 5 years ago lol. There was no way in the world they knew they were going to have a 12TF GPU or a super fast custom SSD solution. They were making an Xbox One game. They had no reason to even think about the specs of the next console since they weren't making Halo Infinite for the next console. The One X probably still hadn't even been dreamt up when they started working on Infinite lol.I'm not arguing that Halo Infinite was developed for the Xbox One. But literally more the point that you just need specs to code for then porting and optimization happens.
Whether Halo Infinite is a port to the XSX is irrelevant. But the technical aspect of things is that 5 years ago they had a choice to code for just the XSX regardless of finalised hardware or also for the X1.
Seriously... All you need is a probable CPU specs and GPU specs of what they want to target. Optimisation happens after for specific architecture when the devkits are finalised. But all programming on a game happens on a PC. So if all programming happens on a PC that means the PC is mimicking console capabilities. Literally via brute force.Just need specs to code for? The hardware team doing R&D for a next generation console has nothing to do with a team that is literally making an Xbox One game. From all reports Halo Infinite was supposed to be out by now already.Seriously... All you need is a probable CPU specs and GPU specs of what they want to target. And if in 2015 Microsoft wasn't working on designing a new console or at least had plans to as you're claiming... Then they're not very good at forward planning are they.
You do understand that the main crux of the problem is that Microsoft are the ones that are claiming that they "Built the engine from the ground up for the XSX" right? The hardware team doing R&D for a next generation console has nothing to do with a team that is literally making an Xbox One game.
