The investment for Control 2 is 50M euros so far. Where did you get 100M? The first one had a production budget of less than 30M.Control 2 costing 100m definitely means GoWR cost double that games projected budget
No, 25 million euros is the initial investment for that other spin-off game.Uh, it says in the OP the first Control cost 25 million.

No, Hollow Knight is as indie as you can get. Control still has very high production values and Remedy is backed by 505 Games. That's not an indie.Sorry, meant 50M.
Control is about as "indie" as you can get, and the definition of AA tier.

Cyberpunk costing 175M to produce makes your 200M claim incredibly unlikely. Now GOWR has 4x the budget of Control 2. Yeah, the 200M claim is looking increasingly improbable.
doesnt seem that much
doesnt seem that much
"I don't like it, must be garbage then"Pretty sure this include free downloads from PASS/ PLUS, i can't explain if not, the game is a complete garbage![]()
Im a bit worried C2 will need to break even at 50million..because I really want them to make a third one as wellControl was made on a $30 million budget. It isn't like the bloated $100 million games we hear about.
Yet we're supposed to believe that GOWR developed in 4.5 years with no new engine and a boatload of reused assets cost $200M?
When did I say they were the main aspects driving budget? I'm saying we can write them off and they're already huge in terms of cost. We start from a lower baseline.I'm not saying GoW Ragnarok did or didn't cost $200m to make, but to suggest the game engine and other tech aspects are the main budget items of a game like this is nonsense. They recruited higly paid actors to voice their characters. Same with music composition. The personnel at SSM also likely receive much higher compensation than devs at a studio like Remedy. Also it's no surprise Ragnarok had insane marketing dollars allocated towards the game's promotion. They had LeBron James, Ben Stiller, and John Travolta in a damn commercial for Christ sake. It's a bit excessive if you ask me but that's where they chose to spend money. $200m doesn't seem farfetched at all.
The shooter games combat involved shooting?Such an overrated game. Bland environments, combat literally just consists of shooting then throwing stuff whilst waiting for the gun to cooldown, story was meh as well.
Such a huge step backwards from Quantum Break in almost every way.
It's been a while since I played it so it must be that way around, you get my point. The shooter games combat involved shooting?
For shame.
It really should have involved competitive knitting instead.
What kind of complaint is my gun can only shoot?
And youve got that backwards.
Use your powers till your stamina drops then use your gun while your stamina recovers.
If you were doing it the other way round, you must have absolutely hated the game.
P.S
Yes, I think Quantum Break had better combat overall, and really needed to have a new game plus mode.
Yeah it must have been a really long time for you then. It's been a while since I played it so it must be that way around, you get my point.
But my point is that in Quantum Break (at least on the hard difficulty) you had to be smart with what powers you were using and switch between them seamlessly well to succeed. In Control none of that exists and it's always a rinse and repeat of the same thing.
Such a downgrade.
I don't know what qualifies "initial" investment but I read earlier the game's budget was $20 million. Still on the very low end of AAA and an impressive return. From the financial report,

Looks like Control ended up being a pretty big success for Remedy relative to their catalog. A sequel is already coming out supposedly and the game is still selling great.
I still would prefer if they went back to a Max Payne (pre-3_ but have been enjoying the quality of their recent releases as well. it seems the initial investment for control was @5 million Euro only. The game itself generated more than 92 million Euro. Looking good.
Completed the game doing that without any trouble at all. The only time I struggled during Control was when I was trying to experiment, when I went back to ole faithful it was easy.Yeah it must have been a really long time for you then.
If you keep using launch youll run out of stamina with enemies at full health cuz some enemies dodge launch for fun.
Hell some enemies will catch what you throw and toss it back.
Those same enemies are fast enough that unless you are playing with mouse and keyboard you probably arent even gonna hit them with Grip and using Spin to spray and pray will have you running out of ammo in seconds.
The tactic you need to engage to take them down is def a lot deeper than saying just throw shit at them.
How far into the game did you actually get?
Launch is powerful but it certainly aint the end all be all, cuz you will get fucked up.
I never died once in Quantum Break (okay fuck Paul Serene) but in Control trying to be too stylish or getting complacent got me fucked me up multiple multiple times.
Not upgrading the "right" weapons and skills will have you very underpowered in any number of situations.
QB is alot more linear you will always be at the right power level.......Control you can easily be overwhelmed and tactics and skill becomes the only way to survive.

I died way more in Quantum Break even excluding the final boss.
That much I do remember.
I also need to try it again. Tried it many times but couldn't stick to it, which is strange cause i love Remedy games.I need to try and get into this again. I bought the ultimate edition or whatever but idk, the intro just didn't click with me. I've heard it is in the Alan Wake universe? Are Quantum Break or Max Payne connected at all?
I feel like I played a different game from youVery meh game. Thought the gameplay was solid, and the environment was cool, but everything else sucked. Story was laughably bad and uninteresting.
Also whoever designed the map in should be put in jail. One of the worst designed pieces of shit I have experienced in any media.
These days? The worst part about Remedy games these days is they get you invested into the story, then end with a cliffhanger and never release a sequel.
The personnel at SSM also likely receive much higher compensation than devs at a studio like Remedy.
This hours to show how much unnecessary bloat there is in modern games. I'd think 3 million sold, across multiple releases, would be a disaster, but it's a success.
If this were a Square-Enix game it'd be a catastrophe.
We need more gaming to be like this. Control is an exceptional game with gorgeous visuals, and I'm relieved to hear 3 million is a success.
