Actual investigation by people in the know might reveal it's a totally normal business transaction with no way for the money to be funneled into private funds. Or it might be a completely out of kilter transaction that made no business sense and came through odd channels.

The concern, from my reading, is that the predicted amount is coming out of russia and into qatar, and an equivolent amount is coming out of qatar and towards Trump. If we had a better view into Trump's finances some of this may or may not make more sense, but alas we don't have his tax returns.

Don't get me wrong, I am convinced there's a lot of shady shit going on, and the Rosnaf stuff is likely true, to some degree. Fascinating and terrifying.

Well, then that explains it doesn't it? For you using eloquent and professional language makes a brilliant speaker, for others its the effectiveness and persuasiveness of what he says.
He doesn't use proper grammar, cares nothing for the truth and even less about who he may offend, has neither logical arguments nor any internal consistency, and this all doesn't matter.

When he talks, people pay attention and remember him. People remember what he wants them to remember. He used this skill to become president, he did not just luck into this.

He also makes sure everybody knows that if you oppose him you are attacked, and if you support him you are rewarded. Everybody knows this. This serves him well, and will continue to do so. If he is eventually impeached or jailed or whatever, it is by being overwhelmingly evil and despite his form of communication, not because of it.

Trump's team is also apparently calling up EU members and keeps asking who's leaving:

I may be wrong, but from what I recall there is no real legal mechanism or president for preventing a precidential inauguration. Trying to navigate that quagmire would add a nightmare on top of another ongoing nightmare. It would be less harmful to swear him in and then oust him through the established legal means.

Any sensible country would delay inauguration under these circumstances if further investigation was deemed to be necessary, but the US has an extremely inflexible political system.

What amazes me most about this is that it's like he's not even trying to make it seems like there's nothing going on.

The only rational explanation for a move like that is that you are being forced into it. But I guess we can't discount the possibility that he's not acting rationally at all.
