Hi guys. Just to confirm, the 4th and final episode of Raid Mode is out, but we'll have to wait until March 31st to play online coop?

They absolutely did fix the shit out of this game with that performance patch. I was getting drops on my 970, That Raid level with all the molten metal... terrible! And that was 1080p, no aa. Now i use DSR from 1440 and the highest level AA and it never moves from 60 :)

It's great!

Read the spoiler above on the bad ending. Wow. I got the good one by dumb chance.

Now I'm considering replaying all shuffled up. Entire Claire story THEN the entire Barry story.

And then buying statues.

They also just released a beta patch on PC that fixes the crashes on Raid mode. I just tried it and it works.

totally more importantly the beta patch fixes the record treasure UI so it's actually for a PC game by shifting it to the side like this:

Holy crap guys, I think I finally fixed my stuttering problems. For whatever reason, disconnecting my laptop from the internet causes my stuttering issues to go away. I hope Capcom fixes that, but for now I'm just happy to finally be able to play the game.

Okay, so something I want to point out about this shot, two things actually.

01.) That looks like the beach from Revelations 1, the one where you fight the glob monsters.

02.) I first thought this had to be Raid Mode, but there's one of Moira's crowbar boxes to the left there, so this has to be something for the campaign.

There's some strings in the game referring to this:
"Invasion of the Huge Creatures"
"Invasion of the Huge Creatures 2"

I wonder if it could be related to re.net? Capcom said they'd start having Revelations 2 ingame events starting April.

But like... what? How would that even work in events? There's no such thing as "huge creature" at least not like in the picture and that pic is clearly from an in game shot. With another stage that's not in the game.

Hopefully there's more DLC coming. I'd welcome anything at this point to give us more replay value. Specially another mode or stages or harder difficulty or ghost ship type of stages.

Patch for online co-op coming March 31st.

I just tried the PS3 version, since I'll be taking my PS3 to my parents' place to play the game with my brothers. It feels like a different game, wow.

I assume that's just a normal ironhead with a really high scale. Didn't someone also say there's stages in the game which are currently unused? I don't know if that stage is one of them. I guess it would be more likely for this to be DLC. Capcom rarely releases new content for free.

I found some more strings which seems to list modes, events, or challenges:
Code:
Invasion of the Huge Creatures
Invasion of the Huge Creatures 2
Level-Restricted Challenge (Solo)
Level-Restricted Challenge (Co-Op)
Weekend Survivor (Singles)
Weekend Survivor (Doubles)

Edit: Okay, now I'm definitely sure it's an event for raid mode after finding these strings:
Code:
Monthly Event:
Weekly Event:
3-Day Event:
Large creatures are stomping over the horizon! Unload all your ammo to stop them in their tracks!
The enemies in this event have unbelievably high levels of health.
Work together with players globally to take them down in the allotted time
Events may be subject to early termination.
Take them on at the lowest level possible!
This Gauntlet is composed of many missions. How many can you take on?
The event will end if your health runs out, or after an hour.
You can only participate once a day.
The more missions you clear, the better rewards

The large creature thing is sounding like it will work a similar way as the Ur-Dragon in Dragon's Dogma.

Was thinking about renting this for the PS4 this weekend, but just wanted to know first: will I miss much of the story if I don't play Revelations 1 first?

Very little. The game's story has more connections to other RE games than Revelations 1.

So heads-up, Capcom most certainly does have post-game plans for this game. Outside of the picture of the giant enemy, in the game's files, there's six stages that don't appear in the main game (a convenient number for a Gauntlet), none of which include the Revelations 1 beach interestingly enough, and hints there may be future Raid Mode map packs.
RE5 merc maps pls

Would love that castle again

As said, Revelations 1 plays little role in Revelations 2 (there is a connection, but it's not important to have played Revelations 1 to understand Revelations 2), if anything, Revelations 2 feels like a sequel narrative wise to Resident Evil 5 (befitting I suppose as it takes place after RE5 on the timeline), though that might undersell the story to some people. I feel this game has a better story than any RE game in years, it's not like, best written game of all time or anything, but I enjoyed story, characters, villain, and cutscenes more in this game than most recent RE games, especially after RE6 and Revelations 1 (which honestly, narratively is probably the low point of the series for me). It's also got ties in its plot to basically every other RE game game (and the CG films) in some way, shape, or form, though small connections.

being totally honest, while i think jessica is fucking terrible i actually really enjoyed the cast of rev1

specifically, parker and the keith/quint duo
i guess i've just got really low standards

Interesting. How does that work though? You or a teammate against one giant ass enemy? It will kill you eventually or time limit to see how much damage it will do and then that goes towards the event or something?

It still looks like there are unreleased content for this game because we don't have that stage for raid so yeah. There's def. more Raid stages coming then. Probably a batch from Revelations then since alot of them weren't in Rev2 and I doubt they just ported Zenobia Main Hall and Casino.

Katana for Moira and Bubblegun for Natalia. Both are *awesome*. Katana just mows things down on any difficulty and the Bubblegun puts a big, translucent bubble around enemies completely stunlocking them (but does no damage on its own) making them just sit there for Barry to unload on them.

Do you know if you can use that bubble gun in Invisible Mode? Because oh son, if you can...

Looks like they went ahead and pushed the beta patch as a normal patch for Steam

I liked Keith/Quint specifically because it was their writers doubling down into how campy the story is. In general, I really liked how over the top the Rev1 story was. The over melodramatic ensemble is what I come for at this point. The ratio of characters and archetypes filled out in Rev2 is a lot more straightforward in comparison.

Doing New Game + is somewhat satisfying. All those ammo and weapons right at the start... Make the trek to the Good ending. Yea I could have just skipped to ch 3 but nah.

Not looking forward to the monsters in Barry's episodes though. All the "only killable in one spot" types. Mostly the Revenants. That's just annoying.

What do the colored albums do? And I've had a gold machine pistol before but couldn't tell what was different other than color.

One of my all time favorite villains, despite the atrocious facetime.
She got about 10x more facetime than, say, Andrew Ryan in BioShock, another all-time great (and yes, I know Ryan wasn't the final boss). So all things considered, I think it worked out well. :)

Plus (end-game spoilers),
we'll likely see her again

So I had to cull my friends list on Steam down below 100 before Raid mode stopped crashing. Good job Capcom.

They just released the raid patch on steam. You should be good to play raid now.

Patch Version 2.2 Now Available
Hi everyone,

A new patch has been rolled out earlier this morning with the following changes.

Patch Notes
Fixed a crash / infinite "Uploading..." state when starting or ending Raid Mode
Fixed a infinite "Uploading..." state when viewing friends leaderboard in Raid Mode
Fixed unresponsive keyboard during the final boss fight in EP4Barry segment.
Optimized UI in Raid Mode when you pick up items from the treasure chest. The item pick-up UI overlay is now moved over to the right and fades into view and goes away much quicker. Similar tweak has been made on the Raid Mode mission results screen.

You cannot, since you cannot access the work bench in the Invisible Enemies and Countdown modes. You get them for beating those modes, but you can't use them in it. Not that there's a real reason to replay those modes and getting S on them doesn't even get you anything outside of a % completion on RE.net.

The Bonus Weapons, while hilariously fun, are also all kind of a downer to me. After S Ranking something I had absolutely no reason to go back and play through it again and you can only get a C Rank with the weapons equipped. Really saps the fun out of them. Sure, they're powerful, but you can still easily die, still have to have high accuracy, and still have to have a low time.

I basically had them all unlocked right when I unlocked No Escape and played with them all through that difficulty and then never used them again outside of the Chicago Typewriter (since it doesn't have that bullshit restriction). Also the "Infinite Ammo" reward for beating No Escape is activated on the Work Bench like all the other Bonus Weapons are and also restricts you to C Rank.

So I just finished the game and I think it said I got the worst possible ending...? wtf, why...? I defeated the Boss and all, what makes the game decide the ending you get exactly...?

Overall pretty awesome game but kinda bummed by Episode 4 a bit...

EDIT: Just saw a few posts above mine, thanks.

You need to go back and get the good ending, most of the reviewers got the bad ending and were disappointed in it as well and it really hurt the games overall review score.

The good ending is one one of the best climaxes in all of RE history franchise, it's super satisfying.

I'll watch it on Youtube, not starting that fight over, like I said in the other thread,I could probably miss what to do at the end of the Boss fight again...so dumb to put an entire playthrough of a games ending on a stupid, badly done QTE...

Eh, it's bad, but it's not Valkyrie Profile/Final Fantasy X-2 bad.

It's not just a cutscene. There's an extra boss fight, with multiple characters, in a new setting, plus the new cutscenes, and a post-credits epilogue.

In the Episode 3 boss fight, just switch to Moira (like the game tells you) and crawl forward when the boss has Claire pinned.

You know that move Jill does where she jumps on an enemy with her kneecaps, and uses her kneecaps to backflip off them.

Call me crazy, but I suspect that's not humanly possible!

Jill killed by twink Piers?

Dat cartwheel would break his pretty neck off.

Dont let your jealousy cause you to hate on Piers because he's the one getting Chris' D. ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ

Eh, it's bad, but it's not Valkyrie Profile/Final Fantasy X-2 bad.

The cutscene is pretty cool also for the worst ending but it's the fact that what triggers it is something in the previous chapter and theres nothing that tells you this...it would of been cool if I would of known this before doing all of Barry's third episode and all of episode 4...oh well,no big deal...

It's not just a cutscene. There's an extra boss fight, with multiple characters, in a new setting, plus the new cutscenes, and a post-credits epilogue.

I did switch to Moira,I remember seeing her a few seconds but never got the time to crawl forward like you say...? maybe in the confusion I switched back to Claire before moving Moira...who knows lol...might try it again at some point.
