You do realise that scene was almost directly lifted from an actual Resident Evil game right?

And yet that $60 million dollar movie has worse choreography then the game.

Ada :3 <3

I've seen a few of the movies and they were meh at Best Buy not the recent ones, never knew wesker made it onto the big screen

I wonder if they are on Netflix

It's great how the movie even fucks up the little details, like how in the game Wesker doesn't even look at them when he first throws his glasses.

It's equivalent to a poser trying to act cool but flinching when the explosion he's walking away from goes off.

Yeah, these movies are incredibly dumb, but I love 'em. Only didn't really like the one in the desert, but the others have been great fun. The games have a dumb c-movie plot as well, so it fits.

It is the last film with Milla and is widely assumed to also be Paul's last. If the series ever continues, it will be either a reboot, or with a new star and new director. There is nothing false about that title

Will never forget the Red Letter Media reaction to the infamous Afterlife climax

I never really got their reaction or why people latched onto it as evidence that that scene was the worst. Things like the psychic tyrant fight in Extinction were way worse.

Or how Chris actually looks surprised and distracted when Wesker throws his glasses at him, opposite to movie Chris who grabs the glasses that would flew past him otherwise.

It's like Anderson saw the cut-scene, thought it was cool and wanted to recreate it but failed to understand what made that cut-scene actually work (camera work, choreography, the feel of dynamics). The same was with Alice vs Ada scene from the latest movie, that tried to recreate Leon vs Ada cut-scene from RE4 but, again, failed due to poor camera work and choreography.

I've watched all the films, but the only one that I feel is rewatchable is the first one. It's a perfect mix of homage and originality.

The rest, I just strap in for two hours of stupid.
(The second is god-awful, and I'm sorry I bought it.)

This is copy pasta done RIGHT; Paul's version ELEVATES the scene as opposed to the video game scene.

The only good thing about the movie scene is Sally Cahill's voice as Ada.

Holy shit I somehow missed (or forgot) about the spoiler thread reveals.

Kind of hoping they changed some stuff from back then, but if not, this is gonna be an absolute trainwreck, lol.

Resident Evil Damnation was actually really good. It completely 100% nails the cheesiness of Leon and the tone of the series.

That doesn't change it from being the greatest worst scene ever.

I don't even know what to feel about this series. First 2 are still amazing, 3 was pretty fun. IDK what the FUCK was going on with the last one with Ada and Michelle Rodriguez and it was beyond stupid.

....yet I still feel hyped to watch this...tbh it'll be better than the cgi movies. Thats not saying much but still. Is Claire & Rain still alive?

As far as we know, but like that means anything in these films.

I highly recommend you see any Paul W.S. Anderson film in 3D, given the chance.

He's technically proficient at staging and shooting 3D action scenes and just plain vistas better then anyone else I know of. Yes, better then Cameron (he's only done one film, this will be Anderson's fifth). I'm dead serious, this will likely be the best 3D film of the year to go see, so go see it. His films look good in 2D, they look AMAZING in 3D.

Wait until you learn each movie has made more in the box office sufficiently with each film.
The most hilarious is that RE of all things is the most successful game movie franchise. Like holy shit people love this shit.

Eh, I watched Afterlife in 2D and the scenes that were meant for 3D were so obvious and so in your face (sometimes literally). I really wish this whole 3D fad would die already so directors stop adding pointless scenes of things flying towards/from the screen in slow-mo. :|

Thats true. Somebody made the point that every big finale in the series post 2 has been completely disregarded in the first 15 minutes of the next movie.

Alice, Jill & co infiltrate umbrella in 2 -> disregarded in 3
Alice clone army in 3 -> destroyed immediately in 4

.....I forget everything that happens after 4. Rain comes back!

4. Alice Chris and Claire rescue the subjects/prisoners on the boat, evil Jill is flying in to battle them
5. Chris and Claire suddenly disappeared, prisoners all get killed.

Yes. You know how to watch movies.

They never managed to capture the look of the games. I don't know why they even bothered emulating these scenes.

God I hope this is the last one. I found the first one OK, the second watchable, but after that they became complete trash

Any of the RE movies are watchable?

I watched the first one on release and damn... that was cringes ville

The first is OK. It really does have the RE feel to it a bit. The second one is watchable but majorly stupid (Jill is hot in it). After that not even Jill's hotness could save the films. So terrible. Damn near straight to DVD trash tier cinema

They've only gotten worse, honestly. Some enjoyment can be had if you're into Resident Evil and cheesy action movies. Even that is a hard recommendation because these play out like someone watched some famous RE cutscenes on Youtube and then said "I want to do that!"These are basically straight to video action sci-fi movies being released in theaters.

It's just an extremely weird franchise. Sometimes I forgot that zombies are even in them because you have psychic clone armies running around.

You really fucked up when your film featuring living actors suffers more from uncanny valley than a very tacky videogame.

He was the villain in Extinction.

Didn't he turn into a tentacle-fingers Tyrant and then died in some horrible way? Or was that also retconned?

Also, what the Umbrella's overall plan is in those movies anyway? There's a zombie apocalypse out there, the whole world was turned into a desert (ups, no it wasn't, we were just kidding) and Umbrella guys are still hiding in their labs, creating new bioweapons and doing their villainy things for... who and why exactly?
