Already bought the expansion. Just a matter of time now.
Third person perspective can be tricky. Is it just me or are Rose's thumbs effing HUGE, lol.
Don't care either way, just couldn't help but notice it.
lmao. That is amazing.Third person perspective can be tricky.
Oh fuck off and just let us look at his faceResident Evil Village Third-Person Mode Won’t Show Ethan’s Face
The Gold Edition of Resident Evil Village is due soon, which will come with a third-person mode, but players still won't be able to see Ethan's face.gamerant.com
However, even though third person will be coming to Resident Evil Village, it's been confirmed that Ethan's face will not be shown, no matter how hard players try. In an interview with Inside, producer Masao Kawada said some effort was put into making "Ethan's face invisible," adding that he is supposed to represent the player's ego. Director Kento Kinoshita chipped in by saying that, even if the player turns around to face the camera itself, it will change angle or just turn back away. Kawada then went on to jokingly say that maybe someone will verify it, but it sounds as if Capcom does not want fans to see the protagonist's looks, even from this perspective.

This must be the stupidest thing i ever heard.so you turn the camera and the camera turns itself just to prevent you from seeing his face. I wonder if this will create some gameplay problems, sounds stupid tbh.
Fuck no.As much fun as I had with RE7/8, I just felt that style deviated away from the lore of the franchise. Werewolves, demonic possession, vampires that stuff belongs in Castlevania IMO.
I am intrigued to try out that 3rd person perspective though!
It felt like a Tim Burton inspired rollercoaster. I hear you. I hope they shake it off in RE9 and bring back good old zombies. As much fun as I had with RE7/8, I just felt that style deviated away from the lore of the franchise. imo the lore should never limit what Resident Evil is creatively, its not supposed to be like The Last of Us or The Walking Dead or some shit, Resident Evil is a full survival horror series not just the zombie game.It felt like a Tim Burton inspired rollercoaster. I get it but I like horror and Village was IMO the less scary RE I’ve ever played. Scare factor was 0. The scariest part was carrying a baby up the stairs in the intro, afraid I would drop it. :/imo the lore should never limit what Resident Evil is creatively, its not supposed to be like The Last of Us or The Walking Dead or some shit, Resident Evil is a full horror series not just the zombie game.
Fortunately im not worried they will lose track with RE4 and RE9
And you know what they say about huge thumbed gals...Is it just me or are Rose's thumbs effing HUGE, lol.

Yeah its not as scary as 7 was unfortunately i do appreciate its a big love letter to gothic horror though and some parts got meI get it but I like horror and Village was IMO the less scary RE I’ve ever played. The gore was also very tame. It felt like a PG13 RE to me. But I hate everything about Village. It’s almost irrational, sorry!
This must be the stupidest thing i ever heard.
You’ll see what’s behind you but Ethan will turn at the same time as the camera. Some games do this on specific “forced walking” sequences. Here they’re doing it so that you clearly don’t see his face. It’s super weird. Specially because Ethan is kind of handsome.yeah, i mean this
"Director Kento Kinoshita chipped in by saying that, even if the player turns around to face the camera itself, it will change angle or just turn back away. "
is absurd, i can't watch what's behind me while i run in the other direction in a third person game? lol c'mon what, i hope they are trolling

To be fair everything went to pot with RE4.imo the lore should never limit what Resident Evil is creatively, its not supposed to be like The Last of Us or The Walking Dead or some shit, Resident Evil is a full survival horror series not just the zombie game.

I agree TGO the BOW creatures made sense in the RE1/2/3/0/CV era. I won't be surprised if they start adding Dragons in the next one lol! Although the RE9 leaks seem to suggest "wendigo and skinwalker type urban legend creatures" which sounds really intriguing. They had a great premise in Re 7 you get to be an Umbrella Employee. Would of been cool if Ethan was like William Birkin working in the lab, as a scientist. Actually testing humans and animals with the T/G-Virus and dealing with the consequences when shit hits the fan!To be fair everything when to pot with RE4.
Resident Evil was always grounded.
A pharmaceutical company doing experiments behind the scenes of a pretty normal world.
Every monster had a explanation for their existence as test subjects.
You knew what they was before and how they mutated.
It was b movie stuff but believable to some capacity
Horror came to two forms, the victims of the outbreak and how they became that by the hands of a trusted pharmaceutical company and the biological weapons that they created.
The second was an important core of RE.
a familiar world once full of life dripping with death & dread, with every scene telling a story.
RE4 onwards went into more unbelievable B movie territory while still hanging on to the experimental science to explain away what you saw.
The world felt less familiar and more like a world the Jack O'Neill & SG1 would visit in a TV Show
RE7 & 8
They both borrow from different horror movies which are far and away from the world we know as RE, even more so then RE4.
RE7 would go the Texas Chainsaw/Wrong Turn(which is fine) and would throw in some Supernatural stuff which was a little out of place and RE8 would go all in of the Supernatural and dump you into the world Van Helsing (The Hugh Jackman one)
but everything is still explained by "experimental subjects"
while I agree RE shouldn't be limited creatively.
it has to be creative with in the world it exists and that includes it's lore.
And after 2 decades of hunting biological weapons I think even Chris should be a little taken back by the stuff in RE7&8.
And not because of its monsters as they could exist in the same manner every other biological weapon has in RE.
but because of the fantasy like world they exist in which is so far from the world he is from.
That's exactly how RE4 was though. We never got to actually see Leon's face from the front other than cutscenes. It's nothing newso you turn the camera and the camera turns itself just to prevent you from seeing his face. I wonder if this will create some gameplay problems, sounds stupid tbh.
This automatically means that RE 12 has to be great.I think this is the best RE since 4.
I really really liked 7 and obviously RE2make is the best one ever but when we talk about strictly new entries, Village is fantastic.
Can't wait for the dlc!
I've got this on steam but might get it for ps5 to experience dualsense, 3d audio and be ready for psvr2
If only other publishers were as devoted to their own AAA horror franchises.Capcom is devoted to Resident Evil.

I believe the Gold Edition that comes out in October comes with everything.Any idea if there will be ps5 physical release with dlc? like goty edition and stuff?
I have it on pc but I am debating getting ps5 version for 3rd person mode and the DLC since I am just interested in dualsense and 3d audio implementation. the PC version had annoying stutters too, dunno if fixed.
Btw. To those playing on ps5 with pulse 3d. You have system 3d headphones enabled and in game 3d enabled? I remember there was some weirdness in the demo
hmmm good to know, thanks. I might just get that then if the dlc and crap is on the disc.I believe the Gold Edition that comes out in October comes with everything.
