GAMING AGE - A

Overall, I’m absolutely in love with Monster Hunter Generations. While I don’t think it’s a huge visual step-up from Monster Hunter 4, it’s still a great looking game made even better on the New 3DS. But more importantly, the gameplay is rock solid, and the new additions are positive changes that help to enhance the classic Monster Hunter experience, and ideally can be useful when it comes to bringing in new players. There’s also a ton of content, which I expect will be further enhanced by DLC in the near future. So if you’re looking for something both fun to play and with great value this summer, Monster Hunter Generations is definitely the game for you.

Monster Hunter Generations is the pinnacle of a great series.

IGN ES - 8.5/10
http://es.ign.com/monster-hunter-ge...hunter-generations-analisis-para-nintendo-3ds

Monster Hunter es un buen punto de comienzo para los novatos y un título interesante para los veteranos más nostálgicos.

Monster Hunter Generations offers a wonderful amount of content which will both delight long-term fans by revisiting locations and monsters from past entries, while ensuring that this is the most welcoming Monster Hunter yet.

SA GAMER - 8.8/10

Monster Hunter fans, this might be the best Monster Hunter title to date.

Each iteration of the series manages to do just enough with its new lick of paint to keep me coming back for more - gilding that wonderful lily of the central gameplay loop with near-perfect filigree.

NINTENDO INSIDER - 9/10
http://www.nintendo-insider.com/monster-hunter-generations/review/

Monster Hunter Generations remains an experience that excites most in the thrill of the chase, wrestling with once proud beasts as you bring them to their knees. It presents an adventure of a lifetime, and continued evolution of the core idea results in an experience that rewards at every turn.

IGN - 8/10

The new Hunter Arts introduce extra flair that I wasn’t expecting in combat. These special attacks unleash gratifyingly powerful Street Fighter-esque Super Moves, from quick evades to crushing charge attacks.

LAZY GAMER - 8.8/10

While Capcom has played it fairly safe with this one, it’s still a wonderful homage to the series’ legacy and it feels like a sweet love letter to fans. They have refined the experience to create what is ultimately the best Monster Hunter game to date.

TECH RAPTOR - 9/10
http://techraptor.net/content/monster-hunter-generations-review

Although Monster Hunter Generations isn't exactly the sort of series evolution that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate was, it's still the most interesting Monster Hunter to date. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate might just edge out Generations for newer players with its engaging single-player story - but even then, Monster Hunter Generations is a game that you absolutely do not want to miss.

GAMESPOT - 8/10

After dozens of hours I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of this adventure--there are other weapons and Hunter Art combinations I want to try, and of course, there are many more monsters to hunt. With Monster Hunter you get out what you put into the game, and Monster Hunter Generations is a game that compels me to put in more of my time.

DESTRUCTOID - 9.5/10

If you've ever wanted to try your hand at Monster Hunter, start with Generations. The tutorial aspect isn't any better than normal, but it's much more likely to appeal to a wider audience with its breadth of customization options and content. If you've been champing at the bit for more great gameplay you already love, with lots of new things to discover, Generations doesn't disappoint there either.

Generations is something of an all-star version of the series, taking some of the best monsters, weapons, locales, and mechanics from previous titles, adding a few new things, and compiling them all into a brand new beast.

US GAMER - 4.5/5

Frankly, there's so much to do in Monster Hunter Generations—and so many ways to do it—you could probably play it forever. Or, at the very least, until the next sequel.

WIITALIA - 8.5/10
http://www.wiitalia.it/2016/07/12/monster-hunter-generations-2/2/

Monster Hunter Generations is a must for the brand lovers that will find some freshness in its new elements, but could also be a perfect chance also for newcomers to jump on the MH boat and start knowing its fascinating world.

NINTENDO LIFE - 9/10

For any gamer ready for a long-term challenge, with tough battles and plenty of complexity to master, this is most certainly worth hunting down.

HARDCORE GAMER - 4/5
http://www.hardcoregamer.com/2016/07/12/review-monster-hunter-generations/216252/

Visually this is one of the more impressive titles that is on the 3DS. The level of realism in the creature design in addition to including nonthreatening monsters allows for a sense of immersion as if one is exploring an actual ecosystem, saying the world of Monster Hunter Generations resembles a fantasy world version of Jurassic Park is not an inaccurate statement.

GAME REVOLUTION - 4.5/5
http://www.gamerevolution.com/review/monster-hunter-generations

Monster Hunter Generations is the pinnacle game in the series and a must-buy for anyone looking for a solid multiplayer action RPG on the 3DS, even hunting monsters solo is a blast

GAME INFORMER - 8.75/10

Tons of mechanics and the precise timing of combat can be intimidating to newcomers, but Generations is the easiest Monster Hunter title to ease into.

I'm enjoying a couple of hunting games on the Vita, but nothing touches the beauty of the monsters in the MH series. The beautiful and smooth animations, the sense of weight... so good.

Still debating if I should get this or just stick with MH4U (which I still need to beat and achieve G rank) and wait for the eventually MH5/U.

MHG is MH4U with a bit more polish, new monsters, and some QOL improvements. If you love the series, it'll do you well to grab it.

I'm looking forward to carrying on my tradition of buying a MH game, then never touching it because I can't be bothered to organize multiplayer with my friends. MH3U, MH4U and now this!

What exactly?

The Eurogamer review says that there are no new areas (or at least the reviewer hasn't seen any) but the very first quest in the game takes place in the Jurassic Frontier, an all new area.

The IGN review mentions that there are no new weapon types, but the prowlers are a new weapon type.

I picked up God Eater Resurrection on Vita, and while I like it from a style and control standpoint, it only reminds me of how excellently paced and tuned the MH experience really is. Started a new MH4U character and haven't touched God Eater since, sadly.

So is this like the god of war of monster hunter games?

Fact.

If there's anyone more obnoxious than souls fans it's the monster hunter fanbase.

Just thought I'd put this out there but MHGen is my favourite MH game to date (I've played all of them). The Styles and Hunter Arts are a game changer! So fun.

Yeah, even though I'm enjoying God Eater, can't argue with that. The closest in terms of quality is probably Soul Sacrifice, and the closest gameplay wise is Toukiden. I'm actually considering buying Portable 3rd to get some Monster Hunter action, since I sold my 3DS.

I've hooked almost 10 friends since Tri made it here and my spreading of the good news of Monster Hunter will continue

Picked up a New 3DS last week, never played a Monster Hunter game before, would this be a decent place to jump in or should I get 4?
