I remember participating in a focus group for Rick and Morty probably at least a year ago. I gave it a 7.5/10 for the pilot episode, but having watching the other episodes on Adult Swim, the show's become more enjoyable. It's better to me than most of the other crudely animated cartoons on Adult Swim that just can't hold my attention for very long.

I complained a bit about Rick's frequent burping and wondered if the rest of the family of characters at school would play a more active role in the show. I liked the concept and sense of humor and the art style kind of reminds me of Super Jail's.

I never found Moral Orel to be very funny during it's run. I watched it casually and when it took that dark turn I was really shocked at all the risks they were taking. The story was compelling to me, not the humor.

If they can maintain the humor and get dark with Rick and Morty, that'd be awesome imo. If they can pepper in some gut punches a couple times a season it'd be good for character development, like how Futurama used dramatic episodes.

Yeah, I was surprised that Rick & Morty's voice actor is also the voice of Lemongrab. You can actually hear it when he does the Meeseeks.

By the way, Adventure Time isn't Adult Swim, that insanity is Cartoon Network, as in the shows meant for kids. It's filled with all kinds of dark humor, and not just from Lemongrab.

I thought Moral Orel was pretty damn funny in the dark seasons. I guess I found the drama amusingly out of place. It's kind of like when someone tells a joke that runs on too long and becomes serious. The more serious it becomes the funnier it is to me.

It annoyed me a lot too but they stop the frequency of it after a few episodes.
Still bugs me though when it happens.

Shame because it's an hilarious show, the burping isn't trying to make you laugh its just a character trait (mostly present in ep1)

This didn't bother me at all funnily enough. It didn't play like "teehee he burped haha he farted" kind of stuff. It made him seem like a barely together drunk. Which he is, especially in that episode

I saw the episode about the giant a few days ago. I found the dads story more funny then what was happening to Rick and Morty. An alien race that's supposed to help people, but couldn't help the dad with his golf swing. When the aliens

When I see stuff like Toonami's ratings, and shows like Rick and Morty's ratings. I wonder if Adult Swim does better then Cartoonnewtwork when it comes to viewership? The only cartoon I can see spiking the ratings charts for CN, is Adventure Time.

Regardless, its good to see the show doing so well. It's very different and funny.

Really? Whenever Morty speaks all I can hear is Lemongrab. I'm still not sold on this show and it's almost 100% due to Roiland. I hate Morty's voice and I hate Ricks inability to speak without burping or saying "Morty" every other word.

I'm surprised how high the ratings are, but at the same time anyone who watched any episode past the 1st should be hooked. It's been great. I like the voices, but if you don't, check out the most recent episode. They toned it down drastically, it's a night and day difference.

I think I could handle it. A lot of things in life are easier if you don't think about them... I'm sure there are even darker things that Morty will experience lol

Yeah, as that was the first episode of the show that I watched the ending kind of threw me for a loop, but having gone back now and seen The Bathroom Scene and how they handled it, I'm confident that they at least have some idea what they should be doing with injecting some slightly more dramatic stuff into a wacky comedy
