• Drag Race: A knockout tournament based on online drag races. Find the perfect time to change gear to beat your opponents.
• Track Day: The track is open to the public today, but someone has to show these newbies how to ride a bike. Pass as many riders as you can before the time runs out!
• Head-to-Head: The track is open to the public today, but there is a capable challenger ready to take you on. Pass your opponent in the fastest possible time and keep your position.
• Pairs Race: Compete in a Pairs Race. Points will be awarded to every rider according to their position at the end of the race. The team which achieves the most points wins.
• Endurance: A race based on endurance. Tackle the rolling start and number of laps much higher than a normal race.
• Championship: The championship is made up of a sequence of races. At the end of each race you will receive points according to your position. The winner is the rider with the most points at the end of the championship.
• Team vs Team: Two teams of four riders take each other on in an individual race. Points will be assigned to every rider according to where they finish at the end of the race. The team which achieves the most points wins.
• Perfect Trajectory: Beat the record time following the trajectory suggested by the street cones without committing infractions and avoiding penalties.
• Point-to-Point Race: Compete in a section of the Nürburgring Nordschleife and do your best to reach the podium.

A: It can be quite accessible, there are plenty of riding aids and assists to make this new-rider friendly. It can be a respectable bike sim with all assists off.

Can someone tell me what the actual download size is for the PC version on Steam? It says you need 33 gigs available, but is that the actual size of the files you need to download?

Starting to notice a few issues (bugs).

Firstly, the split times seem to bear no relation to your actual time, no idea where they are referenced from, but I am getting laps that are +2s on the split time, but actually faster laps, something odd is going on somewhere with the timing.

Secondly, the PP requirements on some events don't match up to the events splash picture, the first one with the Naked event up to 570pp, the actual requirement is 430pp, I am not sure, but I am wondering if it should be 570pp, because the event requirements (time trial especially) are quite tough for a 430pp machine.

I've found similar issues. I don't remember the series, but one race I thought I was at the top of the PP cap, I was getting passed as if I was standing still. I checked the Participants, sure enough, everyone above.

So Just to be safe I check that now before the race, and to see the top bikes in the class.

This game is a hell of a lot of fun though. It goes from extremely easy going, relaxing riding with the lower class to fairly stressful in the high powered bikes. I remember the R class races in Ride 1 were very close, everyone was separated by just a few points in performance.

The Aprilia RSV4 RF is the highest PP bike I have so far, it's at 818, and it is quick. The races are very close in that class. I'll probably get a R3-R1 class bike tonight or tomorrow hopefully.

In Ride 1 I'd use a thumb drive to save, buy bikes to test out on board views and handling, then reload when I decided on which ones I liked. In that game, it took a long time to get the money to afford multiple R Class bikes. I'll probably do the same in this even though money seems to be flowing faster.

I think some of the tracks can look a bit bland, and the time trials/passing challenges difficulty do seem inconsistent. And as I said before, it's kind of a bummer that so many bikes are not as competitive as the few top in class. At least this has more events and options to take a mid-tier bike and get it to the top of a few specific races. Other than that, I'm really enjoying it.

Love that they still have Road America. I'm impressed at their version too, they got the elevation just right from Canada Corner on that so many games seem to miss.

I spent some credits on the R3 Honda. The sense is speed in the helmet cam/on-board is crazy. Doing a rain race at Macau with it was really tense.

Tried the first, demo, seemed nice but not really polished. This second seems better. I also like Driveclub Bikes but this one ofc seems better for bike enthusiasts (I'm not a biiiig fan but Id like to have at least one motorcycle game in my collection, and better to have one with a huge amount of bikes).

Much more nuanced handling between bikes this time round, a bike like the Triumph Bonneville feels torquey, but heavy to turn, something like a CBR1000RR feels like a rocketship that changes direction quickly, and the little 2 strokes feel just like little 2 strokes should feel.

Yeah, it's not as polished as some games, but there is a ton of content, and the core handling is really, really good, and quite an improvement on the first one.

Much to my surprise, milestone have a demo of all of their current generation games on the barren Xbox demo area of the Xbox One dashboard. I'm guessing demos are a thing of the past for Sony and MS.

I downloaded the demo and waiting at the loading screen..for an age. I'd be well into a race in FH3 by the time a bike appeared in the demo. Not a lot of options to be seen - world tour and general options. The world tour has the ZX-10, CBR600RR (RIP) and Speed Triple and one fictional USA track with two variants.

Good to see $3000 in credits to modify the bikes; the ZX-10 was selected so I could be Jonny Rea for 20 minutes. After a few mods to the ECU, air filter, exhaust, tyres, oil and various non performance parts, the Kawasaki was outputting 210HP and I hit the track...after a long loading time.

Positives:
Sweet handling in Pro mode - easy to pick up & hard to master
Changeable traction control
Lush visuals in upgrade screens
Lush visuals prior to race start
Wonderful bike and rider models
Well animated riders (except for the crashes)
Good selection of bikes
Solid level of customisation

Negatives:
Frame rate drops galore at race start and through some corners
Loading times which can be measured by a sun dial
In race visuals not so appealing as photo mode/menu/upgrade screens
Sounds are meh

Based on the demo, Ride 2 gives me the feeling of being an old school 7/10 or "B level" game. It is an improvement on the original and has its charms but a few rough edges stymie the product overall. It appears the devs patched is support for the PS4 Neo 'checkerboard' 4K mode at 30fps if N4G is correct. No idea about the rest of the details...

Got the game in the big sale. Was 90 euro's for special edition now 40. And with account sharing I paid 20 euro's
But I must say I really don't think the 4k downsampled to 1080p on this one.
It's looking jaggie as fuck and IQ is really poor.

All I have left are about 10 championships but those require me to get a lot of medals in certain categories, so I'm trying to figure out which to go for first. It'd be easier for me to pick if I knew what bikes I could get from each championship.

Finally played it last night. Got the Huskie supermoto as the starter bike. Im pretty surprised how well they nailed the movement of the supermotos in this game. The animation is pretty great and the handling is just good enough to be convincing.

The handling seems like a pretty good mix of arcadey and sim, but im running on the semi-pro physics with wheelie resistance at a min and all other aids off.

So far Im liking it a lot but Ive only completed the first few races of the Supermoto race series.

Fired this up tonight for the first time since getting a PS4 Pro and a 4K TV..........

Holy shit does it look good in 4K, shame it's still 30fps though.

Is the season pass worth it? Ride 2 is on sale on the PS4 and 170 bikes from the standard game feels like it's enough.

I just started playing Ride 2 after having enough of Ride 1 and my first impression of the career mode is negative. Why aren't there more precise event requirements and why do I have to worry about reaching certain bike rating to be competetive? Oh, and why am I getting only 5000 credits per race (+tiny bonuses for higher difficulty) compared to 10000 credits from the first game?

I would recommend choosing Ride 2 if someone is interested and didn't play any games from the series. I've started with Ride 1, but after playing Ride 2 I can say that the first game is inferior in every way. Plus Ride 2 is much like Forza Motorsport games. They add more content to the existing stuff, not build everything from scratch. Oh, and buying the Special Edition is definitely worth considering (maybe not in this particular Steam sale, but in others). They've hidden some really cool (and competetive) bikes behind the paywall.

Anyway I'm about done with Ride 2's singleplayer, not exactly the best career mode, but at least the events vary and you can experience all the available types of bikes. Unfortunately the online is pretty dead, the last time I tried on the PS4 there was 1 active championship and 1 single races lobby.

I have about 100 hours in the SP of Ride 2 but have none of the paid DLC. Of the packs available, which ones contain the bikes you like the most? I might pick some up since they're on sale.

For fun Aprilia and Suzuki Bonus Pack - It has the Hayabusa. Kawasaki and Ducati Bonus Pack - Kawasaki ZZR1400 looks like a bloated bike, but it's actually fun to drive. I also enjoyed slower bikes like the Triumph Scrambler, but it's up to your own preference.
For performance Top Bikes Pack - Ducati Superleggera 1299 is awesome. I've probably spent the most time with this bike from all the ones under 984PP.
