Shit, I thought this was a joke thread when I first saw it.. :´(

This made me sad.. MJ was one of the artists that made me "discover" music when I was just a kid.. for all the shit he's done and been accused of doing, I've never stopped appreciating his music.

Fuck.

Going to listen to Stranger In Moscow on repeat for the rest of the night.

RIP.

Years of awesome music, and music videos. Countless artists inspired by him.

Thanks for the good stuff Michael.... time to forget the bad stuff since you've past.

Ok, I don't want to get into this lame discussion, but even though Elvis and the Beatles were insanely popular in the western world, MJ was popular everywhere, anywhere you go in the world people know who Michael Jackson is, hell even my grandparents know who MJ is but they probably have no idea who Elvis or the Beatles are.

Man Wolf Blitzer is turning CNN into classic MTV with all the MJ songs he's playing.

I wonder what's going to happen to all his children? Some belong to Debbie Rowe but who knows about the youngest, Blanket. Really sad for them.

I found it quite funny and fitting really. "First post ending 00 is the new king of pop" and some industrious 4channer makes sure that response is Michael Jackson. He is the king of pop forever and all that.
Exactly. Some people be missing the point. :\

My mom just reminded me, I have the same birthday as MJ. Not same year, just same day.

A great musician.

Hopefully, if there is a life after death, he no longer has to deal with the mental and physical issues that he had. Hopefully he's finally at peace.

You didn't know him. You only think you did because you liked his music. I'm not going to start bawling my eyes out about someone I didn't know in the slightest (and what I did know about him wasn't that pleasant).
You just don't get it.

I don't need to know about his life to appreciate him because of all the great music he has made.
And stop arguing, this isn't even the place to do that. Ughh

has anyone mentioned the fact that he's probably frozen?

i'm betting they had him on life support and headed him off to a cryogenic facility or whatever.

everyone knows he was big on cryogenics.

You do not shit up a death thread with your opinions.
Many people are sad at Jackson's passing since he was a brilliant musician who inspired others with his work and had a huge effect on American pop culture. Some are happy at this death since he was a pedophile who may have destroyed lives. If you can't respect that then I feel sorry for you.

But is this thread the time to bring that sort of discussions up?

I never even had any personal attachment to his music, but I agree that it's wrong to shit on the guy without respecting his death. For such a huge talent, it's sad to see his time has been cut short.

Elvis wasn't THAT big outside of the US. Not Michael Jackson big anyway.

He was most likely the most famous person alive.

Sad day :((

If you actually read the court transcripts you wouldn't think for a second he was guilty.

I'd peg the average age of people who are making jokes about Michael Jackson's death as no later than high school. No maturity, no class, and probably no real awareness of the guy's musical output.
