Rocksmith 2014 announced

Rocksmith 2014 edition revealed by Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains fame

Published on Jun 10, 2013
Following the huge success of Rocksmith, Ubisoft has announced a 2014 edition coming this October, during its E3 2013 conference.

Rocksmith 2014 was revealed by Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains fame, who later confirmed that Stone, from the bands 2013 album The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, will feature in the game.

While details were light, it looks like Kinect functionality will feature in the Xbox One edition.

This is great news I have been playing the first one constantly on xbox after i got game on sale. Will buy day one this time.

Awkwardly presented at the Ubisoft Conference (love Alice in Chains, their new stuff is just not good), but actually one of the games I'm really stoked about, certainly the session mode sounds really awesome, as I have no friends that are good enough to play with me :p

Here's to hoping they don't screw Europe again with the release date.

The original recommended against HDMI. What will they recommend for the PS4 and XBOX One, which only have HDMI? Optical out?

Yeah I saw a video on Gametrailers of them showing it off and a guy playing the guitar, dude rocked. Never got the chance to get the first one unfortunately so I'll bite. Hope it runs on my PC, it seems better to have it there than consoles.

It even runs, although not perfectly, on integrated graphics. I am quite happy with the pc version, loading times are specially an improvement over the console.

Hoping for a good track list and improved load times on the PS3 version. I really enjoyed the og Rocksmith.

"New tracklist announcements are coming this week, starting tomorrow. Trust us, they’re epic."

Yeah I heard it had Bodysnatchers, but I wasn't going to go spend hundreds of dollars just for that. If this has, like, full albums or whatever, I have to seriously consider it.

It had High & Dry on disc and Bodysnatchers as DLC. 2014 will almost certainly not do full albums, and I don't see how that would make sense for a lot of Radiohead albums.

I also don't see how it makes sense to buy a guitar just to learn to play a certain group's songs through a certain format.

1) It'd make perfect sense for The Bends and OK Computer (and much of HTTT and IR)

2) When it's your favorite band, it makes sense.

I really wish that this version of the game has less PC issues, I had constant issues trying to get my bass working with the device and it's drivers until I re-installed my PC recently.

Can we get some Coldplay please?

... actually most Coldplay hits are piano driven, so it won't really work :(

Rocksmith is pretty sweet, but will the DLC transfer over?

Is it as good for bass as it is for guitar? I haven't tried it.

I might actually cancel all my other preorders and get this instead. Is it confirmed to be $80?

If you don't have the cable I believe it's $79.99, yeah.

Yes it will. The bass support is pretty good for Rocksmith. Luckily the new one is built from the ground up with both in mind. Guitar and Bass in Session Mode and loads of tutorials for each.
