You may have noticed that WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper is no longer hosting his "Piper's Pit" podcast on PodcastOne.com. Instead, he's taken to distributing it himself on SoundCloud, among other places. In his latest episode, entitled "Stone Cold," he explains why that is.

As he tells it, Piper released a podcast featuring Will Sasso impersonating Stone Cold Steve Austin. It was his stab at satire, with questions related to heat* with Vince McMahon and why Austin quit WWE multiple times. Podcast One published the show but took it down roughly six hours after posting it, apparently because Austin was none too pleased with it.

If we're to believe Piper, they threatened to fire him and he decided to leave because of it.

That led to the release of this latest show, with the full audio of the interview Podcast One took down. Listen to it here:

* Heat: Boos or negative reaction from the live fans. When the heat is directed at a heel this is seen as a positive, as it means fans are reacting in the desired way. Also used to describe real-life tension or bad feeling between two wrestlers.

You don't make fun of a man's dog. Piper deserves a Stunner for this.

Wait, so he made fun of Stone Cold's dog? And that pissed Stone Cold off? Did Stone Cold's dog die recently and it's a touchy subject?

When did Stone Cold become a sensitive wuss?

In a hypothetical world where NeoGAF values Pro Wrestling as much as Video Games, Dave Meltzer and The Observer Newsletter would be a banned news source that'd have its URL asterisked out.

He's a hack snake oil salesman and the people that give him $10 a month should be institutionalized.

whatever you say mr. austin

Can you refute what Meltzer said?

Goodnight PIPERMANIACS and bald-headed marks without a life that don't know it a work when you work a work and work yourself into a shoot, marks

He didn't say anything of substance. He said Piper asked out of his contract and any other story is just fantasy.

Ok, so then why did he ask of his contract and upload a satirical interview to SoundCloud that Podcast One pulled from their network, Dave? An upload in which Piper strongly implies in a message added to the beginning of the show that Steve Austin was responsible for getting the show pulled, Dave? Is Piper lying, Dave? Is that what you're saying?

No, he's not saying that because then he risks the possibility of being wrong and exposing himself as the fraud he truly is. I know, maybe I have to subscribe to get the real dirt on the story.

An out of context quote from another thread? A hashtagged one-liner? Saying things without really saying anything at all? I can see why you're so passionate about defending Dave Meltzer now.

Yes, Evilore is giving me a cut of the ad revenue this thread generates.

hahaha, it wasn't out of context. it explained why you used your dumb title

and then get down into a push-up position next to you to animatedly yell in your face then stand back up and drink beers that are thrown to it.

Still no word on whether Piper mocked Hershey the Wonder Dog? I can't listen to the podcast right now, but I don't think all the facts have been posted in this thread.

We can't decide who is working and who is shooting until we have the details.

Austin sounded pretty sad at the end of his most recent podcast, when he addressed the Piper situation.

Basically:
He felt the Sasso interview featured some personal stuff he wasn't happy about and he asked for that section to be removed
When he first heard the allegations, he called the PodcastOne bosses, and was told Piper didn't want to do podcasts anymore and wanted to leave and they were okay with that. Next thing they knew, he uploaded that Soundcloud unedited interview and said Austin got him fired.
This is the last he'll address this because he wants to move on and is still a big Piper fan despite it all
