New Gotham Tonight up with Harvey Dent.

Watching now :D

I have a couple of issues with this video (spoilers for those who haven't seen the prologue, not spoilers for those who have):

1. The footage is shot at night. The robbery appears to take place during the day or morning, which is why they use the school bus.

2. They report that Lydia is outside Gotham National Bank. That doesn't sound like a "mob bank" to me. I might be wrong on that, but it seems off...

Another awesome video to get me worked up for the movie though. Seriously, this ad campaign ought to get people some serious raises.

I just want to add that the interview with Dent is a great lead-in to the events of TDK. The first part of it, at least.

What is this Dark Knight Prologue? Does it contain spoilers for the movie or is it just some additional back story... if so where can i find it?

It's the first 6 minutes (?) of the movie. Nothing huge is revealed obviously. It's actually a perfect teaser.

Trying to decide whether to see the 3:30 am IMAX showing (yep you heard me right). It's the only one available. First of all, I've never heard of a 3:30am showing at a theater. Think there would still be a lot of people there, or only the diehard fans?

For the fucking record, Spiderman 2 is the best comic book movie ever. lulz at the haters.

I hope TDK tops it, but we shall see whether it truly does.

I caved and bought a 3am IMAX showing for me and my cousin. There is a fucking 6am showing now. Movie will be breaking some kind of first week records.

Sorry if this was already answered, but are the free IMAX screenings guaranteed admission? Lining up early will only ensure we get a good seat?

I'm used to seeing ALOT of people not get in whenever I go to a screening but I dunno how Warner is handling this. 500 people in an IMAX theater seems like too much.

Yeah but I would be going alone. Never been to an opening night movie alone. What are the procedures for that at an Imax showing? I want to get a good seat but I don't want people pissed off that i'm breaking groups up if i end up in the middle of a row.

Be an hour early. Get the best seat in the house, fuck everyone else. Make sure your cell phone is charged up to the fullest and you have a decent amount of games on it (or internet, GAF will ease the wait)

Just bought the ticket. Next wednesday is going to be a long night.

Will be constantly refreshing IMAX webpage to get tickets booked when they go up.

Saw the preview infront of I Am Legend and was blown away. Only just found out it has full scenes filmed using IMAX cameras :O

Yahoo was projecting this movie to hit $130 million dollars for its opening 3 day weekend, it might pay for all the viral ads :D

Must....beat...Spiderman 3. That fucker made $150 mil.

I am upping my prediction to being 330 million. Indy will be about 320 million and Iron Man 315 million.

It won't beat Spidey's opening weekend. I say 115-120 mil.

Batman Returns is just now on tv. Fuck, I love this one. IMO it's the best Batman movie and I doubt Dark Knight going to change that (as Begins put me to sleep). Would be nice, but.... naaah.

I've seen them. I've read some.

You can make a good trailer out of everything and to be honest those out now didn't even give me a slight chill.

That mtv clip promises something better thou.

When Begins was out it also was hyped as christ on a stick. Only months later some started to realise how it really was. Ironicly often while doing DK reviews.

Both Roeper and Phillips were totally gushing this morning on At The Movies.

"Christopher Nolan's Gotham city epic is one of the best movies of the year and should merit consideration for a best picture nomination."

"It'll be an upset if Ledger *isn't* nominated as best supporting actor and it won't be a sympathy vote either. He creates one of the most memorable screen characters of the decade."

"Nolan has fashioned a near masterpiece here; maybe the best superhero movie ever made. See it twice."

"A true ensemble piece. They don't over-expose the characters. Everyone gets their moment to shine and are only in the movie at just the right amount."

"It's the fastest 2 and 1/2 hours I've spent at the movies in years. There's never a moment where I was going 'geez, they could have cut 15 minutes out of this film'. It zips along."

Aww yeah.

here's some more from SHH:
Direct quotes from "Ebert & Roeper" during the "The Dark Knight" review on the show:

Richard Roeper:
"Christopher Nolan's Gotham City Epic is one of the best movies of the year, and SHOULD MERIT consideration for a Best Picture Nomination. This is a rich, complex, visually thrilling peice of pop entertainment. As strong as any Super Hero Epic I've EVER seen."

"It'll be an upset if Ledger, ISN'T, nominated for best supporting actor... And it won't be a sympothy vote Either... He creates a Joker that is one of the most memorable screen characters of the decade."

"Writer/Director Nolan has fashioned a near Masterpiece here. Maybe the best Superhero movie ever made... Even with the lead in a Bat-Suit, 'The Dark Knight' has the authentic feel of a crime Epic like 'Heat' or 'The Departed'. It's a Great Film, I say see it. In fact, SEE IT TWICE"

Michael Phillips:
"I would see it twice, and I'm looking forward to it. This film really is one of the great achievements of the year"

"And the wonderful thing about this screenplay, and the way Christopher Nolan has directed this picture, is you don't over exploit a terrific villian. He's in the film just the right amount. And all the scenes really land. And they're kinda creepily funny. And alot of it is really truly menacing. And the balance is perfect.

And it's so hard to get the kinda creepy/funny balance right in a comic book picture. Look at Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton's 'Batman'. Which to me was over exploit... Ya know, ya know, fun..."

Roeper:
"He was a Clown... It was a clown performance."

Phillips:
"But it's NOTHING compared to what Ledger's into."

Roeper:
"And you're right also about this being really an ensemble peice. Even Christain Bale, he has about the same amount of screen time as Batman/Bruce Wayne as Aaron Echart does as Harvey Dent. Each character, Gary Oldman gets his moment. Everyone has their moment"

Phillips:
"And not flashy too... Ya know. There's one extremely flashy performance, and it's the right one. Everybody esle seems very invested. Even people very familiar to ALL of us. Ya know Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, they're actually, all the work is just a little better. A little more, Ya know, a little more perfect."

Roeper:
"But that's it. As I mentioned, that's why it reminded me of movies like 'Heat' or 'The Departed'. Obviously we're dealing in Super Hero Genre here, BUT played authentically by everybody else. This is the world they live in, Gotham City..."

Roeper:
"You know you mentioned the running time of 2 and a half hours. I'm telling you it's the fastest 2 and a half hours I've spent at the movies in years. There's never a moment where I was going 'Aw jeez. They coulda cut 15 minutes out of this film'. It zips right along."

I need to find this review online. looking for some new fapping material

cept begins was not hyped like this nor did the reviews compare it to some of the best movies of all time.

whatever though...returns was good. probably the last and only movie i consider good from the 4 movies from the 80-90s.

Returns was awesome and Begins put you to sleep? ok .. :lol :lol :lol

Whackiness > grittiness. Not really, obviously.

If there's any justice in the world this will top Spidey. The only way this film could be worse if Joker, Batman and Two-Face got emo hair-cuts and learned the magic that is... FUNK!!

Edit: The sites have been defaced/destroyed.

Just ordered my tickets for the midnight showing Thursday Night (Friday Morning). I'll be going with some friends from work. Can't wait. :D

It is the Gotham National Bank. You can see it on windows during the prologue.

Any Chicago peeps here know WGN radio? Their movie guy, Nick DiGilio (sp?) was on talking about how great Hellboy is and made a point to mention how much he HATED TDK.

He called it overblown and bloated and remarked how it was worse than "Journey to the Center...3D"

WTF.
