A film called "The Ten," made by the guys from The State and funny as all fucking hell.

We now return to our unimaginable wait for the awesomeness that is "The Dark Knight."

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Still was able to obtain an IMAX ticket for a midnight showing Thursday night here in Virginia.

Kind of surprised they're not sold out yet; psyched as hell, though.

Again...if anyone has any tickets for NY and either A. Has extra or B. needs a ride there...I'm game for either or. I'm heading out to work but you can PM me or message me on AIM/MSN on my profile. I'm from MA stuck in Brooklyn for work. However haven't seen many people in here talk about getting NY tickets. :(

Man, saw a Dark Knight trailer in Hancock today for the 3rd or 4th time.
Great stuff.
I'm very keen.

A TV Channel here is putting Batman Begins on tomorrow night!
I thought they should and they will. :)

Everyone who got a free ticket better also be paying to see it opening weekend as well. It looks to be so damn well, it deserves our money.

I already paid, son! WOOT WOOT!

I got a friend who was already going to grand valley on tuesday....15 minutes away from the theater....

I paid for Thursday midnight IMAX tickets. I'm still going to that one, and the one on Tuesday. And then I'm going to see it again on Friday sometime, I'm sure.

Ive already bought my opening weekend ticket, so my next comment is irrelevant, but I would otherwise say screw that, if WB wants to give away free tickets, Im only too happy to take 'em.

I bought two tickets for my brother and I for a midnight Thursday showing over two weeks ago. Which is pretty funny considering the last few concerts I've been to (Rush this week, Bachman & Cummings, Matthew Good), I picked up all those tickets on the same day. :lol

I was planning to see Dark Knight at least three times anyway, with two viewings at IMAX. With IMAX sales here apparantely sold out for it's first week of shows, I figured it'd be a while before I took that version in. Last night's unexpected treat kinda solves that problem. :lol Hell, I might buy that Batman Begins box set after all...use the free ticket in there for another free IMAX showing, which would effectively chop the set's price in half.

I'm just glad I came home when I did last night...another 20 minutes and I could've easily missed out.

This is really one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Odds are every person who got a free ticket was going to watch Dark Knight at least twice, and probably three or four times. To give away some IMAX screenings like this is almost absurd to me. Good on WB.

As for t-shirts, Walmart's got a few on sale for 13 bucks Canadian. I picked up a black one with the top portions of Joker and Batman hovering over the DK logo (in XXL no less, much to my surprise). The others that I saw was a black t-shirt with Batman looking out over Gotham through some windows (think that's based on one of the teaser posters), and a white t-shirt with "The joke's on you" in abstract writing, and Joker's face sorta scribbled amongst it (I'll probably buy this t-shirt for my bro).

I still have my 'Batman Begins' flashlight from the time they showed the Batmobile at a downtown mall, which shows a shadow of the bat logo. Gonna need to get some new batteries for it over the weekend.

JESUS CHRIST this soundtrack is unbelievable. You can just tell by the music that some real crazy shit is going to happen in this movie.

I have two tickets I can't go to. However they both will find happy homes. The MA one I WOULD go to....but its at seven instead of nine. So because of that I would have to work that day until two/three o'clock and then go through NY, CT, RI, and MA traffic getting me there late and then having to leave right after the show back to Brooklyn.

Just got a call about traffic build up aroun the Gotham National Bank because it's being robbed right now. Someone splices into the call and asks for help, you hear gunshots, and the Joker laughing.

...Argh, I can't wait to see this damn movie.

Yeah, that score is really good. It's much more melodic than I was expecting given some of the interviews I had read.

I only listened to Why So Serious?, and oh my God. The 1:37 mark = holy shit.

No interest in going to the Myspace screening? :D

Just got the call myself. I saw the caller ID and was like, "Who the hell is this?" and then I answered and heard what it was and and... well, let's just say the rest involves a trip to Boner Town. So awesome. Can't wait.

It seems like a trap. At this point it is only one day earlier than my IMAX tickets and its at 6pm which after work/traffic......yikes.

How does one get this call?!

I've been to free screenings.
They generally aren't a trap.
Just need to get there early.
And since I have Wednesday and Thursday off anyhow.
Thinking, I may head over there around noon and hope to god there aren't people worse than me. :lol

Why do I have to work on Wednesday :(

No clue how I got it. I assume I signed up for something Dark Knight related at some point with my phone number and that's how I got the call. *shrugs*

I say call in sick.
Or what time would you make it?
I mean I would have no problem holding spaces for a reasonable number of people.
And gives me more motivation to go.

Which screening is this? The Universal one?

I'm tempted to give it a shot since I'm headed out of town Friday and wouldn't be able to see the movie properly (IMAX) until a week later.

EDIT: Oh I see...the NY one.

I'm thinking of calling out that day, but then again they already let me have Friday off for The Dark Knight :lol :lol. West Nyack is a bit more than an hour from my house, and I get out of work at 3 that day.

O well assuming, there aren't a bunch of crazies.
If I get there at noon, and you can reach around 4-4:30 would be plenty of time for you to make it.

The score is a step up from BB, but it's still Zimmer's usual overly bombastic fare. I'm not particularly impressed. I guess the dude's stuff just isn't for me.

Speaking of BB, I rewatched it last night for the first time in a while and I gotta say I really recall it being better. I dunno why, but for some reason, the writing really bothered me this time around. There are tons of over dramatic lines in the thing and I hope TDK's dialogue feels more in keeping with the semi-realism of the universe.

I also saw the other commonly tossed around criticisms- weak last act and indecipherable action- when they hadn't bothered me before. I can't explain why, but I just came off with a much less positive, hyperbole filled feeling than I did originally. I'd even go so far to say, in retrospect, I liked Spiderman 2 better whereas I had thought BB was the best of (excluding The Incredibles) all superhero movies before.

Despite all this, the TDK still looks really good and I'm glad to see that some critics praising it even acknowledge some of these flaws in the original and go on to say that TDK evades/gets rid of them. Next Friday can't come fast enough.

You know the saying: You snooze, you lose.

That's how I feel about seeing TDK at IMAX here in NYC before next saturday. :lol

And even then, the only time on the 19th that's not sold out is the one at 6am xD

I feel the same way. What bothered the hell outta me is Batman's neck. The man needs to be agile yet he can't turn his head in any direction :lol
