Rottenwatch: THE DARK KNIGHT

I do not have (nor am I in the position to have) the Batman Begins Blu-Ray, and I don't want to wait until the movie opens. Sadness ensues.

Sweet, I bought B:GK and BB on bluray tonight, didn't realize that prologue was part of it. :D Watched Gotham Knight already, loved the look of it and felt the stories were really quite good too. Some of the city backgrounds were jaw-dropping, there's just some amazing animation coming out the last few years.

Can't fucking wait for this movie.

only twice? ;P

I may end up getting tickets to a prescreeening on the 15th (if I choose to camp out for them)

I already have 2 tickets to TDK. Got a third one after buying Batman Begins in blu-ray.
The pic above me sounds very interesting :D

Since the other thread is closed (and I dunno if this was posted)

t0nivs.jpg

- Alternate head with authentic likeness of Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne, a new head sculpture of Bruce Wayne
- Detailed Batman Utility Belt with cell phone
- Activated Mini Mine
- Grapnel Gun
- Two small Batrangs on belt clip (removable)
- Newly developed Bat-suit with cape
- Three sets of interchangeable gloved hands, Inclusive one set of gloves hands for riding the Batpod
- Figure display base featuring THE DARK KNIGHT logo and BATMAN nameplate

So fucking buying this. Even if it is $150.

what kind of idiot would give TDK a rotten review? be laughed at for generations to come.

and i cant stop watching the 6 minute intro on ninjavideo. its so awesome.

does rottentomatoes change anyone's views on anything anyway? I mean, it might persuade people NOT to see a movie but i mean really Dark Knight was always destined to be great, so there was little chance of that scenario

i went to see enchanted because it had a 90% on rotten tomatoes

what a fucking disaster

Frankly I feel "Rotten Tomatoes" and its ilk are about as detrimental to film enjoyment as is armchair box-office debating. It all comes down to the individual's tastes so why do people feel compelled to put "Rottenwatch" in the title, as if numbers are going to make the difference?! Can someone make "Rottenwatch" a bannable offense? Please?
If I'm interested in a movie and I see that it's RT score in under 40%, I don't watch that movie.

The BB bluray comes with a ticket voucher? I was gonna buy BB someday, but if true I'm buying it tomorrow!

Foolish.

Not at all.

I was originally interested in Hancock, then I saw it's RT score was 35 and decided not to go.

Until I was dragged by my cousins and sat through one of the crappiest movies I've ever paid to watch.

I know it's cool to be "anti-establishment" or whatever. But when 2/3 of movie critics don't like a movie, it's probably not worth my time and money.

wait wat?
There were reports before that TDK was going to end up at 3 hours or so, 30 minutes longer than the actual movie.

I don't think that was ever verified by anyone. I think this cut of the movie is probably *the* cut. Most likely I don't think there is a 3 hour version.

Seems like the
Two Face part runs well past the Joker's storyline.
I ain't got no problems with that!

hm so is it confirmed that
two face has a major part of the movie? i always thought it would just show him becoming two face, and then develop him more in the third

Get that spoiler shit out of this thread. I didn't need to know that
joker's storyline ends at all before the end of the movie you fucker.

Cast out such thoughts.

Yeah, I'm not stepping back into this thread until I see the movie.

TIME magazine's review. Tiny spoilers are mentioned, but this particular quote made my day:

"In its rethinking and transcending of a schlock source, The Dark Knight is up there with David Cronenberg's 1986 version of The Fly. It turns pulp into dark poetry."

This isn't true at all, really. Still, AVOID THIS THREAD PEOPLE DON'T SPOIL THE DAMN MOVIE FOR YOURSELVES, RUUUUUUUUUN!!!

So far, so good. I'm nervously waiting for that one negative Nancy to give the first negative review just for the sake of being different. I can't help but wonder, what did Christopher Nolan do to that poor bastards mother?

Ugh, I'm getting a little too hyped for this movie. Seeing it at IMAX for optimal "OH FUCKING AWESOME"ness.
I might have the opportunity to see it two days early but it probably won't be on IMAX...UGH I don't know what to do.

I want my first viewing to be in IMAX but those last 2 days are going to feel like a month.

I live in Massachusetts and the IMAX viewings for two local IMAX theaters are sold out till Sunday. I fear for what NYC should be like, sorry Smiles and Cries :(

Some shoddy ass site that wants to get some exposure, it happens.

I had a crazy dream last night in which I saw the Dark Knight...and it sucked!

In the dream I went to the IMAX by myself and was pleasantly surprised to find that my seat was next to a really cute blonde who was also by herself.
Anyway the movie started and it got off to a fantastic start. Batman was chasing Joker around Gotham in the Tumbler and there were plenty of exciting explosions and action scenes. I was surprised that the pace never let up and the first hour was non stop action. Anyway about an hour in there was an interval and me and the hot blonde went for a drink.

When we arrived back things got a little strange.
-Rachel wasn't played by Maggie Gyllenhaal, but by Clair Danes :lol
-Harvey Dent was barely in the movie, and Two-Face didn't appear at all!
-There was some other villain I'd never heard of in the movie called Glassjaw, and he was played by Leonardo DiCaprio :lol
-The Joker was played really well by Heath, but he didn't really do anything other than run around laughing and blowing shit up. There was no...plan
-Most of the clips we've seen in the trailers didn't appear in the movie
-It ended on a complete cliff-hanger and the Joker was still at large, and Dent was still Dent.

Anyway after the movie the hot blonde was flirting with me but I ran back home to post my impressions of GAF (don't worry I got her number first.) When I got back everybody on GAF was saying it was the film of forever and that Heath was Jesus reincarnated etc. I decided not to spoil the party by saying it sucked, but then some mod did (think it was Amir0x) and then the floodgates were open, and everyone was going 'oh yeah damn it sucked.' We all decided that Nolan had been really clever and filmed parts 2 and 3 back to back without telling anyone and that part 3 would be awesome.

So GAF what does my dream mean? (apart from the obvious fact that I miss my ex)

same, man are people stupid for the same shit done SLIGHTLY differently? Maybe if I went in blind with no expectations then I might have enjoyed it, but I only watched it because idiots were raving about how awesome this movie is.

it means that you are one sad, sad man.

Anyone else seeing this in London IMAX? Such a bitch to have to wait until the 24th :( :( :( My local theatre has pre-release on the 23rd for £12.50 with a poster included, but I don't really have the money for it and I want my first viewing to be in the glorious IMAX.

The wait is unbearable :(

I wanted to see it in London’s IMAX but I didn't have anybody to go with me on opening night and its now fully booked. It's also pretty much fully booked for all showing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (unless you want to sit in the front row.) I think I'll have to see it in a regular theatre opening night and then see it in IMAX a week later. Also expect to pay close to £12.50 when you see it in the IMAX (you can check price and availability on their website)
