it's boring, eckhart doesn't look happy to be making this thing, it's cheesy and doesn't really fit

:lol u really think that every detail of that wasnt completely thought out? u dont think that eckhart was SUPPOSED to look like that? put in the context of the movie, it makes complete sense, and is an awesome way to expand on the character developments.

Got my IMAX tickets, Friday afternoon :D. This is the first time I've ever pre-bought a ticket so I'm very excited.

I haven't been to an IMAX film in about a decade so I'm not sure what to expect. Is seating for IMAX better designed so that even people in the front rows can get a good view without craning their necks? Or should I get to the theater an hour early to ensure good seats? This is the first movie I've seen in the theater in about two years so I don't mind getting there early :)

yeah i would say get their earlier. the seating unfortunately is not designed so that you can sit anywhere. well thats my personal experience anyway based on the IMAX here in NYC.

i would say get their early and get good seats.

for example i have tickets for the 19th 10pm show. im thinking of getting there around 8 so if there is a line im at the front and so i can have my whole group there and get good seats.

i know its excessive but having good seats is worth waiting for.

what time would you guys suggest going to the free imax thing?

the show is at 9:45. I'm going to try to get there around 8:45. I have to get off work and it's about a 3 hour drive.

Not sure if this one has been discussed here yet or not, but the Scotia Bank Theatre in Toronto added a 3am IMAX showing on Friday morning.

I bought my tickets!!! :lol :lol This movie better make me shoot cum through my zipper!

from what i know they let you in like 30 min b4 just like a regular movie theater.

and my imax theater only has 1 imax screen so when the previous show ends the next one is allowed in. so 1 hr b4 should be good.

I know I said I wasn't coming back into this thread until after I saw the movie, but man, why are you people exploding over this IMAX BS? Must you see it in IMAX? Must yousee it on the first day it's out? The movie will be out for a few months. It isn't going anywhere.

Anyway, I'll be waiting a few weeks until I see this, so I can watch it in a totally empty theater.

Really? I love hearing reactions from people. Gasps, "Oh shits," and all the rest. It's fun. For me, if there was no one else to enjoy it with, theatres would be a boring experience.

In fact, it made the bullshit of Spider-Man 3 so much better. The crowds helped the hilarity.

Yeah, there's always a few annoying people and a bunch of kids, but whatever. This event will be fans only. People who really want to see the movie and are there to really enjoy it. And fuck yes we have to see it in IMAX. Seeing the Prologue in December with Heath's awesomely disturbing visage on an 80ft screen was great. I can't wait to see what else they show on it.

could someone be kind to tell me the name of the batman series that was played on cartoon network about 5 years ago?

also, what was the name of the batman animated series where he was like a detective or something....or maybe both of these questions are the same answer

Does any one know anyone who is NOT interested in seeing TDK?

I'm serious. It's not just my friends. It's my family. It's all my coworkers. Strangers hearing passerby conversation. I don't know a single person who doesn't want to see this film as soon as possible. This is fucking insane. Unprecedented. Incredible.

EXCITING

Sadly, none of my coworkers give a shit.

Me, on the other hand, am seeing it at 9:00 AM on Friday and 1:40AM on Saturday on IMAX.

How in the world did I miss this thread ?

I looked for it for about 15 minutes :lol

Anyway, The Joker

Is one of most accurately protrayed and realistically achieved comic book to life transformations, ever.

Very much so, beyond the aspects that need to be filled by the actor in order for the character to be illustrated properly.

Single handedly the best villian I have ever seen.

Is it wrong for me to go to a Batman movie, wanting to see The Joker ?

Is there a comic book character, better displayed ?

I just rewatched Begins. Still just as awesome

Though I really wish there was a bit more Scarecrow, and that Batman, not Rachel, took him out.

TDK question: Anyone know just how much
Screen time Scarecrow has in TDK? I heard it's almost nothing

Jesus christ, I expected the film to review well, but not THIS well. The rotten quotes are incredibly gushing.

Oh my god. I am listening to Zimmer's "Why So Serious?" track.

Holy shit :o

Where are all the reviews dammit? I needs to pass the time untill TDK comes out by reading more stuff about TDK.

I (mistakenly) went into the RT forums to look for some more unpublished reviews and all I could say was "Wow." That place is absolutely idiotic.

i'm starting to think about maybe going to a gaf meetup on opening night in indy

where is everyone in the area going to be on thursday?

I'm gonna be at the Hamilton 16 IMAX at midnight. Probably be going to see the movie a few more times that weekend. I'm down for Indy Gaf uniting and conquering.

" The Dark Knight is noisy, jumbled, and sadistic. Even its most wondrous vision—Batman’s plunges from skyscrapers, bat-wings snapping open as he glides through the night like a human kite—can’t keep the movie airborne. There’s an anvil attached to that cape."

oh snap

so wait, i post 10 positive reviews and it gets no response, someone posts 1 partially negative review and it gets qouted for reference and doubts about the movie, bunch of idiots

"Its all part of the plan."

Welcome to the Internet :lol

Fixed. I thought GAF was really bad about this sort of thing, but my recent discovery of RT has opened my eyes. Compared to it, this place is a veritable haven of civilized discussion. :lol

Only one person has cited the review as a possible source of doubt and even he said that it was "only one opinion" as compared to the majority out there. I see no idiotic behavior here. (yet)

GAF's filled with several captious malcontents.

You'll learn to ignore them.

interesting review since he gave batman begins a fresh review

one thing i noticed in both reviews is that he didn't like the look and feel of gotham city or the action scenes

Yeah, there are several moments in the review that hint at the author preferring the way BB did things. (i.e. the bit about Begins' theme of Revenge vs. Justice being more suitable to a screen drama than the elements being explored here and the respect the author seemingly has for Holmes' characterization, even if he prefers her replacement's acting ability, of Rachel) Unfortunately, it's hard for me to glean much about how the screenplays compare, (which is my main concern) word for word, without specific examples, so I can only wait and see how TDK stacks up for myself since most of the article's focus is on the themes of the two, the darkness, the action, (which, according to this reviewer, is as indecipherable as the first- other reviewers haven't had this problem have they?) and the performances.

Is it just me or are you guys super glad that the trailers haven't really spoiled the plot of the movie?

All they show, usually, are splices from the two main trailers, and some extra dialogue. Going into this movie, I don't really have a clue of what the plot is about. I know that the Joker is there and he kills stuff for seemingly no reason, Harvey Dent becomes what we know, and Batman is emo.

This is how I know that the movie will still blow me away even if I've watched every clip and trailer, everything isn't in context.

Yeah, this bit particularly:

"Anton Furst’s splendid Gothic Gotham of Tim Burton’s Batman, which summoned up the freaky superhero’s inner landscape of vaulted arches and gargoyles."

Seems to indicate more the direction he prefers. Now, I don't want to become the thing I despise and put words in the reviewer's mouth, but it is interesting that he follows up his comparision of TDK's more realistic Gotham and Burton's more fanciful take with a note on the lack of imagination in TDK. I could be reading him totally wrong, but I hope he's not equating realism with dullness.

Kibbles said:
No he just wants to look cool in being the only person to give TDK a negative review. Make them seem all tough and harsh. Bwahahha!

Just rewatched Batman Begins in anticipation.
Still a great, great movie, especially the first hour with the whole build-up.

-.- For the most part, I was joking.

Why so serious?

Oops, my bad. I guess the "Bwahahaha!" should've tipped me off. :lol

I have, admittedly, become quite the stickler about "reviewing the reviews." Over time, it's just become the most annoying thing to me, so it really riles me up whenever I see anything resembling it.
