I felt the same way. He's not the same type of bad guy the joker is in this movie.

The scene that perfects this is when he first enters the party. He's scared by all the wealth, intimidated. He's not a guy who's motivated by cash (what a surprise, he's a public servant with his neck on the line). and since there's already another character motivated by nothing in the film, all that's left islayzie1989 said:I felt the same way. Oh no, I wasn't directing my comments at you in a sarcastic "Really." I was agreeing.maharg said:Um, that isn't quite what I was getting at.
Oh fuck, now you got me all mixed up!:lolmaharg said:You weren't replying to me, you were replying to (and agreeing with) the person who disagreed with me.![]()

Solo said:You know, I think Nolan's been pretty lucky from the get-go and not held back, really. Memento, Following, The Prestige - these arent really "Ill take this job to move up the ladder/make some cash" kind of movies. The only thing I really think he wasnt into fully was the Insomnia remake.
Duderz said:What I'm confused about is, if his brother had credit with writing a short story that eventually became Insomnia, where does that end and the remake begin?
Relix said:Most fucking awesome movie of the year. Heath Ledger was just beyond AMAZING on his role. I still wish Batman got more spotlight as the Joker seem to stole it every time, but it was still an amazing movie, kinda slow and with some boring pools in between, but nevertheless fantastic.
Not a masterpiece as some are calling it, but awesome

Now get the fuck off GAF and enjoy this masterpiece.![]()
Yeah. The movie was absolutely brilliant. I loved how after I left the movie, I saw a cute girl walking down the street in Joker regalia. Keep in mind this is almost a week after it came out. :loldabookerman said:

1- The Dark Knight WB $222,150,806 total: ????????
2- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest BV $183,661,469 total: $423,315,812
The Dark night almost has a 40 million edge over POTC so far. If TDK performs like POTC for the rest of the summer than it will bring in over $463 million. :O
but since it is ourperforming POTC then it is possible that it will reach $500 million.
But I am not holding my breath. I will wait until this weekend.
jett said:I don't see assformers getting anywhere near 500 million.
Skiptastic said:I love the title of that article... "Heath Ledger's Dark Knight"...it's like the dude is mocking the dead.
And he's full of shit. If Ledger was still alive, people would still be talking about how amazing his performance was and calling for Oscars.
Is he bigger than Ebert? Ebert don't make the news with negative reviews.dabookerman said:He's like the most famous one in the Uk and quite a celebrity. He's like the americans equivalent of Jay Leno or someone.. i dunno.

Earlier tonight I went to see the Dark Knight with my brother (who was super hyped) and the moment the film starts this 10-year-old boy sitting directly behind us begins to loudly translate everything in Spanish for his farther -- in the center of a mostly packed theater. Damn kid managed to talk over the entire bank scene, parking garage scene, dinner scene, and "magic trick" scene. And when I say talk over, I mean ruin, as neither my brother or I could pay attention to what the hell was going on.
By that point we just got up and left, notified a manager, and went to another showing.
