The scene that perfects this is when he first enters the party. He's scared by all the wealth, intimidated. He's not a guy who's motivated by cash (what a surprise, he's a public servant with his neck on the line). and since there's already another character motivated by nothing in the film, all that's left islayzie1989 said:

The thing I'm most happy about Nolan's work being a massive success is that studios will now hopefully give him the freedom to do other projects aka bring on another Memento-caliber film please 
I see some value in Solo's Transformers2 prediction, I agree that it'll make money .. more than the first but not 500 level stuff. For 500 club, the movie has to have legs and I'll bet the (Gotham City) bank that it wont. :lol

You know, I think Nolan's been pretty lucky from the get-go and not held back, really. Memento, Following, The Prestige - these arent really "Ill take this job to move up the ladder/make some cash" kind of movies. The only thing I really think he wasnt into fully was the Insomnia remake.

Most fucking awesome movie of the year. Heath Ledger was just beyond AMAZING on his role. I still wish Batman got more spotlight as the Joker seem to stole it every time, but it was still an amazing movie, kinda slow and with some boring pools in between, but nevertheless fantastic.

I pity the fools who watched TDK in a regular theater.
After watching Begins at an IMAX theater back in 2005, I knew there was absolutely NO WAY I was going to see TDK in anything other than an IMAX. The opening scene was amazing... whatever chatter had persisted through the previews had been quieted really quick. Also, the scenes in which Bruce Wayne was running forensic tests on the shotgun blasts to acquire the fingerprint were amazing strictly because of the sound. I nearly shit a brick after the first blast...

Earlier tonight I went to see the Dark Knight with my brother (who was super hyped) and the moment the film starts this 10-year-old boy sitting directly behind us begins to loudly translate everything in Spanish for his farther -- in the center of a mostly packed theater. Damn kid managed to talk over the entire bank scene, parking garage scene, dinner scene, and "magic trick" scene. And when I say talk over, I mean ruin, as neither my brother or I could pay attention to what the hell was going on.
By that point we just got up and left, notified a manager, and went to another showing.

Oh my gawd, this movie is simply amazing! Best Batman flick ever, no doubt about that, they got the Joker and Batman chemestry soooo right and even a real Two Face, unlike that other movie. I'm just...wow this movie..wow!
Saw this yesterday on the opening night here in Holland, and I was very, very content with the movie. Everyone else already said it, but Ledger is fucking amazing. Absolutely stole the movie. I think that the Batman Begins saga should end with this movie. There is no villain or character which can top the Joker if you ask me. And
Ending confused me a bit. But overall it was a great movie. I am going to see this again, just for the Joker parts. Joker and his magic trick. Oh my god. So fucking awesome.
Two Face couldn't even stand in the shadow of the Joker. Sometimes I even felt that the Two Face character was out of place and didn't really fit in well with the movie's atmosphere.
