I really hope there's a team working on stages somewhere, the games should have really had stage parity at the very least!

There's no way a majority of the Wii U stages would work on the 3DS without major compromises.

Other than Miiverse, which is technically a "stock" map now, it does seem DLC stages will have parity.

I'd be okay with that! To be honest, it's the 3ds stages being on Wii U that I'm more into. If one was to lay all the stages out on a piece of paper I'd argue that the 3ds version got the more fun stages to play on.

I do really like that any future dlc stages seem to have parity, but I'm also a bit let down because the 3ds requirement could make some crazier potential stages undoable

Do 6 degrees of Ryu with Kevin Bacon now.

Kevin Bacon was in X-Men First Class with Hugh Jackman.

Jackman was in X-Men 3 with Kelsey Grammer.

Grammer was in Transformers: Age of Extinction with Optimus Prime.

Optimus Prime was in DreamMix TV World Fighters with Solid Snake.

Snake was in Smash Bros. Brawl with Mario.

Mario is in Smash Bros. 4 with Ryu.

This was fun to piece together at least.

Kind of glad this leaked because I would have to get up extra early to watch the stream before work...now I can sleep.

I would love it if Ryu had special Win Quotes like he does in SF...

Okay, crazy theory here but bear with me: what if the reason the two Rhythm Heaven tracks (supposedly) play on the Miiverse stage is because there's an as-of-yet unannounced Rhythm Heaven stage coming to the 3DS version? We haven't had any news emerge from the leak regarding the content the 3DS version is getting stage-wise, right? Plus it makes complete sense considering 3/4 of the Rhythm Heaven games have been released on handhelds, and the presence of two songs gels with the 3DS game's principle of having one primary song and one alt song per stage.

Funny thing is, I remember before today's leak how there was a fanmade Ryu moveset floating around that everyone seemed to think it was perfect.

Then Sakurai and the Smash bros team come and make one even more interesting lol..

Holy shit, just saw there's a Megaman.exe outfit!

You know, if they make a Nintendo x Street Fighter, I really hope they choose him as the Mega Man representative for once...he'd be pretty cool with the Battle Chips.

They really need to make a full-on Mega Man fighting game, honestly...I mean besides Power Battles, one with more than just four characters.

This makes me so happy

I don't think I can express quite how disappointed I was to not have this song in Smash. It just didn't feel right. This song, it's Smash Bros to me. It's THE song for the series, and the best song the series has ever had. It's so revolutionary and well put together, it's left Smash and become a staple in the Kirby series itself. It's so well made they redesigned the last fight of the remake of Kirby's Nightmare in Dreamland to put the stage and its music in there.

It's too bad the stage couldn't return. But its older brother with a similar design is back, and to me that feels good enough.

I knew the stage wasn't ever coming back. The mirror effect makes that too challenging and they'd have the recreate the entire stage from scratch anyway.

I didn't know the Fountain of Dreams theme was not in Smash 4 originally. I never felt like dealing with any of the tedious methods to unlock songs.

I'm really glad it's finally getting added back. All that time I spent practicing my wavedashes and l-cancels and just playing on that stage ensured it would be a song that always brings back fond memories of a game I love.

A shame we won't see the stage return, but at least we won't be without this wonderful song anymore.

What is so good about this song?

I WAS going to spend the night playing Splatoon's Splatfest until I was so rudely informed by Calie and Marie that the Splatfest is in fact, NEXT week for us no good NA players.

Guess I'll let the smooth sounds of David Attenborough describing how Zebras mate drift me to sleep.

I'm going to fulfill my nostalgia by watching Cardcaptors Sakura, Its been decided

It seems no Ken as Ryu's alternate costume, too bad. Oh well I'll keep hope for tomorrow, after all that's only "surprise" I'm expecting from the direct.

This does make sense, not so crazy

Ice Climbers/Rosaluma let's you control two characters.
Little Mac has a one hit KO and a special meter for it.
Shulk can change all his stats at will from every extreme.
Everything that Robin does.
Lucario's Aura affecting all of his moves, and the range/power of all his Specials.

Ryu's quirks are new, but Smash has a history with this kind of thing.

Kirby steals powers
Olimar has his Pikmin

Wii Fit Trainer heals herself.

That's the beauty of Smash, it's not afraid to give different characters different mechanics. It would be like some SF4 characters having ultra meters, and others having "V triggers/ whatever the new thing is called" in the same game. It's crazy challenging from a design/balance standpoint.

The Fire Emblem saturation is very puzzling, when at least one of the sword fighter clones could have been Murasame (samurai) and at least represented another Nintendo series. Or heck, even Samurai Goro from F-Zero.

DL64 is a good addition to an otherwise horrendous stage roster. Kinda bummed it appears to be the only stage actually. I was hoping they'd port more over in packs.

Roy is significantly more popular than most newcomer representatives they could pick purely due to being in Melee. It's the same reason Wolf will probably be DLC somewhere along the line - guaranteed sales from those that liked him in previous Smashes and guaranteed visibility, as opposed to a brand new character who people might be "eehhh" about.

As much as I personally would rather they put their efforts into newcomer Nintendo character, ehe.

It's models that imitate the actual players in reverse.

That's what I wanted to know...

I basically wanted to know if it's possible to just have a "texture" that mirrors, or if basically the game has to "load" up multiple models. Thanks.

Both of those would have been great additions, while Roy is just another boring FE-character for me.

Isn't it technically bundled with Ryu's stage and the Miiverse stage? Three stages seems enough to be considered a 'pack'.

Miiverse is free, though. It's part of the patch for everyone. DL64 and Ryu's stage will be paid DLC most likely.

Ill be heartbroken if it's only two stages to a pack tbh. That's terrible compared to mk8's offering. :(

I'll pay $30 for the 3ds stages sakurai! That's how much I want them! I bought your game *twice* and ill give you even more money! Plz
