Good to see I'm not the only one making Bomb Squad comparisons. The layering of sound is very similar, but El-P is doing it with fewer samples. I'd love to hear more DJ scratches thrown in. Damn I miss the days where you could pretty much sample whatever you wanted.

Have you heard Pew Pew Pew?

RTJ + Q-Bert is honestly the most face burning thing I've ever heard. That scratch run at the end of the song…I can never not air scratch during it.

That's my hypothesis actually.

Bloom is incredible, but that song is simple and perfect and in many ways better than the 50 minutes or whatever that preceded it.

Solid point.

Listen to over half of this on the way to work this morning.

Fuuuuuuuuck this album is raw, even more dope than the first RTJ album. Serious Rap AOTY contender with Logic's debut for me personally.

I don't know about liking everything prefuse 73 has put out though (and I like world music especially south American stuff). Four Tet definitely got the better of those two.

It kinda peters out a little in the last 3 tracks, but then again, I can't imagine the album keeping up the intensity that it shows in the first six.

Really, really solid shit.

I don't know how this ends weak. Angel Duster is one of the best songs on the album production wise. Reminds me of that Jazz instrumental album El-P put out.

This is so much better than the first album. This feels like the first Mega Man to Mega Man 2 jump in quality. The first one is good but the 2nd is the true masterpiece. El was not fucking around with the production and I feel like they have much better chemistry on this record. The beats feel like they fit both of them this time around where I thought El felt a little out of place at times on the first record. It also feels much more like a proper album this time around where the first album seemed more like an EP to me. This is going to be on heavy rotation for a long while.

Yup it's dope. BTW I'm bummed Nas didn't jump on any tracks or remixes. The album is being released on his label.

Can't wait to see if Black Milk can top this album. Outside of that I think RTJ might have rap aoty.
