RUMOR: ARMS release date - June 23rd (Amazon.es)

Doesn't Amazon always set a placeholder for the last possible day the game could come out according to what has been said? That's the end of Spring. They set it for the last day of Spring because the date is "Spring"

I remember when Zelda Wii U was announced, they had it set for the last day of 2015 because the date was "2015"

So, basically: this means nothing.

I would definitely think they would try and get it out by May as the only game scheduled to be released in that month so far is Ultra Street Fighter II.
The Switch's momentum can be carried in June by E3 announcements and possibly Splatoon but they need something for May.

Zzzzz. Too long. I'll probably not use my switch until mk8 or this is reviews well.

Speaking of long, when's stardew valley dammit.

That's too late. Should be Mario Kart in April, ARMS in May, Splatoon at the start of June and then some bangers at E3. Meh.

End of April till near the end of June with no new games would not be good for Switch momentum.
How are there no new games in between?

Anyways this is a Friday date so it makes it seem possible. I was expecting May though.

Also, they said Spring and spring ends June 20th. Nintendo is known to push it to the last days of a season though.

Technically the last day of Spring this year is the 21st, so Amazon didn't even get that right.

If ARMS does come out in May I'd be interested to see the sales figures for ARMS vs USF2, given they're the same genre (kinda).

Disgaea 5 Complete is out a couple of days before USF2.

This confirms my fear that Splatoon will be August. If there's this much space between Mario Kart and ARMS, Nintendo better either push Splatoon to May or have VC ready to blow out.

Nintendo seriously needs to officially announce the dates for this and Splatoon 2, just give us a new direct already.

Amazon es also has splatoon as semptember 22, so I doubt those dates are correct.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust estimated dates from a specific Amazon division.

Hopefully it's just a placeholder.

The Switch is doing good now, but they can't afford too much time between games.

Does Nintendo even care about Directs anymore? We used to get them every two months. This month we would've got a Direct since the presentation was in January.

Yep. This Amazon placeholder means jack. Nintendo said spring. They just released a trailer saying spring again. May sounds like the month.

They had one specifically for Fire Emblem the week after the Switch unveiling.

Ahh my bad lol. I completely forgot about it.

its coming before obon holiday in jp - july 13th

Obon is August IIRC, and yes, Splatoon 2 coming shortly before the Obon (like end of July) would fit perfectly: early sales, then Holiday push.

On ARMS: don't know about the date (again, I feel it's placeholder like other inaccurate dates from region-specific Amazon divisions), but June wouldn't be surprising. USFII is end of May, and I feel it's pushed by Nintendo and Capcom (simultaneous Friday release date, just like Nintendo games right now), so they'd need some breath room between the two.

So like... What's in May then? Splatoon 2 could make it I guess but it would seem weird to release summer title before something slated for spring.

Nintendo Directs basically died with Iwata, sadly.

Am I mistaken, or didn't we see a Fire Emblem Direct recently, as well as an Indies Showcase for the Switch?

Disappointing if true. Nintendo should know that a sizeable portion of the current owners already have Mario Kart 8, and you don't want your first adopters to start complaining the console haz no gaems.

That's all this is. There's nothing to see here. Amazon just put the last Friday after each season ends as a placeholder.
Ah fair enough, makes sense.

For some reason I forgot about the Fire Emblem direct.

Still, regular Directs, ones that we got every other month from 2011-2015, basically did die with Iwata. After his passing, Nintendo only really irregularly does one when they feel like it.

What games are there? Indies aren't going to keep up momentum, they are nice to have but they aren't going to keep new people buying consoles.

Ah fair enough, makes sense.

Mario kart is already in the Top 10 games sold this year by amazon (uk), think a lot of people will be double dipping.

Anyway, would wait for confirmation before everyone gets their analyst armchairs out :)
