Ugh, no. Just like the survey for revelations asked people if they wanted Ezio again or not. You really think if people would have said no they would have changed that for ACR? The survey was like in november last year.
These surveys mean nothing in terms of what is or isn't already being developed.

Whatever the setting and period for the 2012 game will be was decided long ago. What sense would it make for them to include it on this survey? I would be shocked if the 2012 game was any of those listed.
What are you saying? You think it will be one of those?

Survey of Revelations last year had pretty much all the features the game ended up with, basically the point of it was not to find out what they should do but figure out how welcome these additions they have already made are so that maybe they can better market or position those more popular things
So here, maybe they are trying to find out how well the setting they've picked holds up with the fans. the rumor in OP is ancient Egypt and that's in this survey too.

It makes sense to put it in the survey to see if people like the idea. These surveys are to help the marketing prepare their marketing campaign.
All the questions asked in the survey last year for ACR were asked for the exact same reason.
edit: like miladesn said. Companies don't care want you want their future games to be like, they just want to know how to sell what they are making to you. That's why these surveys are made. They want to see how many times people will have chosen in that survey what they already decided, and act accordingly.
Anyone else have the encyclopedia? Some interesting art within it depicting other eras including the tiniest shot of EXACTLY what I want: An assassin in a long coat with a tricornered hat, arms spread at the edge of a rooftop.
