That's probably the thing that's in this game's favor; because it's definitely made on a much more "cost-effective" budget than say, SF4, it doesn't need to sell millions to cover the costs and keep the suits happy.
In that light, TC is basically looking to fulfill the same destiny that its Marvel vs. predecessors did before it. :lol

They've put out a lot of games in a fairly short time compared to past Nintendo consoles. Though you're extremely defensive, which also doesn't help your position.
EDIT - You know what, I take it back. You are pretty much trolling.

fubarduck said:I just wanted to point out that I did see this game at Evolution in Las Vegas last weekend. It runs in 480p (widescreen) and is definitely NOT Taito Type X2 hardware. The arcade hardware it's running on currently is "secret" which heavily indicates Wii-based hardware, considering the 16:9 format combined with standard resolution graphics.
This also means that we might soon be seeing a piece of affordable new entry-level arcade hardware from Nintendo or another third party.
Based on the available information, Wii-based arcade hardware followed by a Wii console port later down the line is a very strong possibility.

I saw this in person as I posted a week ago or so and there really isnt anything next level going on. I swear to god it looks like a dreamcast game. Im not doggin the game, it looks fun, but compare it to actual HD games like SF4 , T6 and VF5 it could easily be done on the wii.
Gamecube games like Wind Waker have better cellshading than this imo.

TreIII said:...It's been said before, but once more...
Type X/X2 is basically "scalable" PC hardware. It can go any where from low-end celerons with entry-level 3D graphics, all the way to top of the line stuff, and any where between.
We've had X/X2 games get ported to the PS2 (see: KOF: MI Regulation A, for example). I doubt that this particular game would really be too powerful for the Wii.

Not that the game can't come out for the Wii.

You won't last here with that kind of shitty attitude.

I have a Samsung PN50A580 and Wii games look just fucking dandy on it.
Get over yourself.

And? The game was built with Wii hardware in mind. The game being in 720p isn't going to automatically make it look better.vertopci said:And they would look better in HD.

I think they are more worried about it being "based on Wii hardware".Caj814 said:I don't know why everyone is so worried about it being an "exclusive" Wii port. This is Capcom we are talking about where ports ports ports are just about everything to them if their gonna be making money off of it. :lol
Threi said:explain.
The PC platform gives you a choice of controllers (which are inferior to sticks) and sticks themselves. Add to that the resolution advantage over weak console versions. Since SF needs HD,
Which is idiotic considering that Capcom vs SNK 2 was based on Naomi hardware yet ended up on all platforms last gen.titiklabingapat said:I think they are more worried about it being "based on Wii hardware".
olubode said:No it doesn't. HD enthusiasts have SFIV. All Tats Vs Cap needs is a clean looks with good animation and gameplay.

TreIII said:Two main differences to think of though:
1) The DC was going to be the clear "loser" last generation. That much being inevitable, Capcom wanted to try and cut their losses and make a presence on the other consoles, so that's why MvC2, CvS and its sequel, were among several games ported to other consoles (the fact that those aforementioned ports are still considered largely "inferior" to the original DC ports not-withstanding.) This would later be finalized with the PS2 ending up being the main (or only, for certain games) host for a number of Capcom's arcade-related efforts, even including when Capcom moved to the System 246/256.
2) If the game is being constructed on the Wii...don't expect it to just be ported to the PS3 easily. The fact that it's constructed on what seems to Wii hardware in an arcade box, and based on furbarduck and other 2channer's reports, the game is able to output 480p at the most. I can't see Capcom doing any thing in the way of going back and doing extra work, to try and meet the demands of making a published release on the PS3 possible (always easier to downscale, than it is to upscale), and I don't see them putting a brand new game of this type as a mere download on the PSN, either.
The most that one can hope for would be a PS2 co-release. But I can't imagine that such a thing would really be in the cards. The PS2 seemingly had enough issues dealing with ports from games developed on GC hardware (see Viewtiful Joe and RE4), and I'd imagine that trying to downscale from Wii hardware would possibly be even worse. I would imagine that if this was meant to be a PS2 release in the future, chances are this would have just used the 246/256 again.
Plus, if Capcom wants to try and do more make a solid presence on the Wii, they really ought to stop the PS2/Wii co-release thing with some of their games, make the games Wii-exclusive, and give Japanese gamers a valid reason to utilize/buy their Wii's. It would only do more to help prep people for what is to come with Monster Hunter 3 any way, as, again, that game is definitely going to be Wii exclusive.
Saint Gregory said:Damn, pretty good analysis. I think the larger obstacle to porting this to the HD twins is the obvious licensing issues. It can't get released outside of Japan in it's current state and the performance of the HD consoles in Japan would make a port a waste of time and resources. I wouldn't rule out a PSP port down the road though... way down the road.
