Eww sensor bar and 900p?
Do you people really think the NX will have Wii U graphics again?
Yes, they perform A LOT of surveys on their own accord, sometimes only for a press statement to show potential customers their knowledge on certain areas.
But again, the target of a conjoint analysis is to determine a "perfect" product. And the focus was obviously on Nintendo's NX product features and price tag. The only company who might pay for such an information is Nintendo, so it's actually quite clear that this survey was tasked by them. It's just too specific for a "general" market study.
It outputs 4K video? I like this new Nintendo.
900p handheld?
There are lots of current generation graphics chipsets out there that can do 4K video streaming. This is just going to be a small perk included with whatever AMD chipset they're using (I'm assuming it's AMD, since Nintendo hasn't strayed from them in nearly 15 years) .
- Nintendo NX Console
- Sensor Bar
- Game Controller
- HDMI Cable
Not a handheld, confirmed.If true.
You're jumping to conclusions when you say "the only company who might pay for information is Nintendo."
Nintendo has yet to reveal anything regarding their new product. There are loads of parties vested in Nintendo, including retailers, publishers who are considering the NX but have not yet committed to Nintendo, and institutional corporate investors, who might be interested in how the market responds to various price points and product features. It could very well be that someone other than Nintendo commissioned it.
I have a hard time believing that it was Nintendo because this data would have been useful to Nintendo two years ago, not right now as the Nintendo NX finalizes production with a lot of the key hardware components already set in stone. Presuming they're releasing in Holiday 2016, it's too late to change the fundamental hardware decisions that went into the Nintendo NX. Even if the NX is coming out in 2017, it's still stretching it.
A more likely story is that some other client wanted to test the U.S. market in response to specific price points and hardware features so when Nintendo does make a move they have an idea of how the market would respond or how the general public might react to such news.
Alternatively, there could be multiple clients interested in such data. I wouldn't put it past the GfK Group and their >10,000 employees to commission a detailed study and sell it to multiple organizations as they have done in the past for other video game-related studies.
They did mention that there was also a NX Handheld. Either way, this isn't anything with merit. There are lots of current generation graphics chipsets out there that can do 4K video streaming. Not sure why people are bitching about 900p.
If I could get 900p but 60fps on all games on PS4, I would take that shit in a heartbeat. You people are fucking wack.
I don't think it is. MK8 was 720p.
Smash is 1080p/60fps iirc.
But what is smashbros?I don't think it is. MK8 was 720p.

I believe the only 1080p games are:
Smash (60fps)
WWHD (30fps)
and MH3U (~40fps?)
could be a couple more though that I don't know about. It's not really on topic, but this thread is a lot nothing at this point anyway...
Plus a bunch of eShop games.
Starfox and Twilight Princess HD will be 1080p as well I thinkGunman Clive HD Collection renders at 1920x2160 with 2xMSAA at 60fps
Yeah there's probably several eshop games.
Heck, maybe a random barbie game is 1080[ was
Was rayman 1080? Maybe only ps4/xbox was.
Yeah, TPHD will definitely be 1080p i think.
NX was NX all along!

Then it would make the NX Console a bit too expensive & exposed to being undercut by a potential PS4/XB1 price cut.Interesting, if NX is a console / handheld hybrid and the 900p thing is correct , maybe that is for the handheld screen.
I would expect the home console part to be 1080p, if they are not pushing for 4k gaming, but I never expected Nintendo to do that, still too soon for 4k gaming on console.
Nintendo really should take advantage of releasing a new system a few years after PS4 and XB1 and at least make NX a little more powerful, so it can do 1080p/60FPS as standard. If they don't do that, it seems like a wasted opportunity.

That's the point. Not all games are the same. There's no such thing as a "900p system".
This is way too specific for them to have come up with it themselves, imo. Hopefully the 900p is the handheld's resolution, so it is the base resolution. I'd take 900p@60fps over 1080@sub30 everyday anyway.
It's not specific, it's bullshit.
900p is not a console spec, it's not something that would appear in an official statement or document from Nintendo and it's not something the general audience knows anything about.
It's something someone with no technical knowledge might find when googling some console discussions. "People talk about 900p vs 1080p and 30/60 fps when comparing PS4 and Xbox One; let's put 900p/60fps as an example spec in our survey"
These aren't the specs of the console.
Well DUH.. you cited mario kart 8 lolThat's the point. Not all games are the same. There's no such thing as a "900p system".
