Rumor: Redditor posts screen of GameSpot saying Tekken 7 PS4 exclusive now

People act like the first FIVE tekken's weren't SONY exclusive....
This.
I've bought Playstation to play Tekken 2 and 3. Also bought a Playstation 2 to play Tag.
That said, Tekken is not worth buying a console anymore.
You know, I'd rather just start learning juggling like circus people than pretend I'm still playing a fighting game
.

what lol no?
they were average exclusives. just take this nostalgia goggles off

No need to take anything off. With nostalgia or without nostalgia, PS2 exclusive library was much better. It's not really even a competition. This gen has been the weakest in regards to exclusives.

Sad for people who want to play it and have an Xbox One only but I'd be curious to know the number?
Actually who want to play Tekken 7 at all? :p

Sorry I've never really enjoyed Tekken... VF, SC and DOA were, are and probably will always be better for me.

Pretty much every Japanese game released this gen :P

I know you're not serious though, because it'd be pretty ignorant to claim the PS4 had no good exclusives.

Tastes.

I want to see your list too. Personally I couldn't list more than 5 (I speak about 100% exclusives, no PC, no Mobile, no past gen etc.)

And I'm saying this after having bought more than 50 games on PS4. There are good games, there are good exclusives but not games that are good to the point to make everyone agree.
Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Yakuza 6, Shenmue III.. TLG if it ends up good

This is my list for now and 4 are not out yet.

All that's been confirmed is that the game has PS4 exclusive content, probably VR stuff. I doubt the game itself is exclusive.

The thing I've been wondering is if it will be a PS4K title and they are just waiting to see what Microsoft will do or announce.

It's fine the games available aren't to your taste, but saying there aren't any good exclusives is ignorant.

List wars? Whatever, I'll list what I own.

Dragon Quest Heroes
Until Dawn
Disgaea 5
Bloodborne
Akiba's Trip (don't judge me)
Driveclub
Grow Home (was a free PS+ game so no excuse not to own it)
Infamous Second Son (I enjoyed this a lot, but zero replayability)
Little Big Planet 3 is a blast in coop

The above were all great games in my opinion. There's a whole list of exclusives I haven't tried because they don't fit my tastes.

Also, the bolded wasn't what I was replying to. It was him saying 'name some' to this:

those systems had great exclusives (plural) by this point in their cycle
And so does the PS4, your point?!?

It's fine to say it doesn't have games to your taste but trying to pretend it doesn't have good exclusives is ignorant.

Half of that list are not exclusives.
Please bold the ones that aren't.

That's why I didn't want to get into list wars, people make mistakes.

Edit: Only ones there I can see I made a mistake with are Dragon Quest Heroes as its on PC, and the a Vita version of Akiba trip? That's only 2/9 though

Dragon Quest Heroes: PC
Akiba's Trip: PC, PS3 & Vita
Grow Home: PC
Little Big Planet 3: PS3

And Disgaea 5 will likely end releasing on PC too, but I will let you keep it on your list.

Thanks, I didn't know about LBP3 or Grow Home.

Guess that still leaves 5 exclusives that I own and have enjoyed.

Edit: Also I think it's great that some japanese developers are bringing their games to PC, I hope more follow suit.

Has any "I saw something on a website everybody else missed, but don't bother looking now because it's no longer there" rumour ever been on point?

Why wouldn't it be on Xbox One (outside of Japan)? Not like Sony financed the development and I can't imagine they want to position Tekken of all games as a PS4 exclusive thing.

I'll say it again, if it was exclusive to PS4, Sony would've yell it everywhere at everyone. Not only that, Bamco announced its coming to consoleS and Sony mention exclusive content for the PS versions.

That one GI(I think, or was it gamespot again!) article that mentioned several X1 games coming to PC, just from recent memory. This one seems more like a lost in translation error though.

The dual conversations happening in this thread are amazing. On one hand ps4 library is not good because it doesn't have a lot of third party exclusives like ps2 on the other Tekken 7 should be multiplatform because more people should be able to play the game.

My money is on the game being multiplatform.

I love my ps4, and think there have been many worthwhile exclusives unlike what some others would say. But honestly, the ps2 was a beast its first 3 years, it isn't just nostalgia goggles. PS4 doesn't even come close to matching it if compared:

GTA III (gta5)
Gran Turismo 3 (driveclub)
Final Fantasy X (put some japanese rpg here)
Ratchet & Clank (lol)
Jak & Daxter
Sly Cooper
Kingdom Hearts
Devil May Cry
Ico
Twisted Metal Black
SOCOM
Virtua Fighter 4
Suikoden III
SSX
Tekken 4
Tekken Tag Tournament
Metal Gear Solid 2 (was exclusive for a year) (mgs5)
Onimusha (exclusive for a year)
Onimusha 2
Wipeout Fusion

all i see are third party games. the exclusivity was because xbox and gamecube werent perform well.

And? The post you replied to was talking about exclusives. Not specifically 1st or 3rd party. And in the context of this thread, the post that you initially quoted with the nostalgia goggles comment, had quoted a post calling this a ps1/ps2 incarnate, in reference to this thread, which is basically claiming that tekken 7 (a third party game) is exclusive.

So yeah, don't try to move goalposts now. PS2 exclusive lineup destroys PS4 exclusive lineup.

Also, I love driveclub, but considering that an equivalent to GT3 is laughable.
Rachtet & Clank was a brand new ip, rather than a remake.
and as I said GTA5/MGS5 being multiplat disqualify them to be considered as exclusive equivalent.

Anyways, I've made my point. Stopping this thread derail now.

What is your point?
Is that a serious question? His point is that Tekken has had a damn long running exclusivity with PlayStation consoles, and therefore, association with the PlayStation brand. Even after going multiplatform, Tekken still sells on PlayStation the most, I'd go so far as saying maybe even flopped on other platforms and the name "Tekken" largely remains synonymous with the name "PlayStation", this is minimally evident by the fact that some people here already thought it was a console exclusive.

His point is that, all things considered, it wouldn't be completely outrageous for Tekken 7 to be a Ps4 console exclusive.

without money changing hands it's just leaving money on the table to not port a major game running on popular middleware to xbone, honestly

Longtime tekken player. This would be lame if true.

If it is I guess I'm sticking to Killer Instinct and MKX.

Street Fighter and Tekken are longtime favourite series of mine. But shitty business deals won't coerce me into owning two consoles.

Your call bamco, and your loss if this is true.

"This just in- fan-run Twitter runs poll; multinational corporation sets course due to result."
here's an oldass TZ poll asking the same question about Tekken 6.
Let's be real: You can do this survey with any multiplatform game coming out this generation and the PS4 version will always come out on top. We know Sony won this generation. That doesn't mean you don't put out an Xbox One version.
in all honesty, I don't think this would be the case with Me4. ME originated on 360, so I think on a hypothetical poll, xbone would win.

I remember a thread where someone predicted Sony publishing the game to get it out quicker. Maybe that has something to do with this.

Sony did publish Tekkens 1-5 in Europe.

It's definately not that. Tekken 7 is already out in Japan at the arcades, it's purposefully not out on consoles to squeeze as much money out as possible. This isn't a SFV situation which is why it probably isn't exclusive, they can afford to port it wherever they with basically no risk. If for nothing else there's a good chance it'll come to the NX.

all i see are third party games. the exclusivity was because xbox and gamecube werent perform well.

The point to me, is that there just haven't been as many retail titles, and most certainly nowhere near as many new IPs.

Making games was cheaper and 'easier' then. I say easier, I mean, they were less complex, even if the tools were nowhere near as accomplished as they are in general nowadays, nor development practices.
